This is such an amazing song...I really like the way it starts so misterious and turns into a hymn that touches the deepest of my heart and is so beautiful that it nearly hurts...Olafur is amazing..!
I now hope, that no one sees this as a spam, but I just think that good music needs to be shared...
I found a guy on youtube called "Silvio pfiffner"
If you've got the time, listen to his song "Coming home" and "Time changed everything"
Breathtaking and powerful song by this young, talented guy..!
People always try to find a way to connect Iceland with it's elves and shit like that to the music. The truth is that it's just a projection. It's a cliché designed by the minds of fans so that they can have something to connect the weird etherial sound of Sigur Rós and others to. They just want something to look for. It has nothing to do with Iceland itself. The market overseas does not need Icelandic pop and metal. That's why only the weird things get exported.
The Reason this guy isn't showcasing the Music Charts World Wide is because believe it or not, Record Labels & Chart Music isn't actually about Good Music. A Long time ago the Greediest people imaginable pushed Musicians out of the Control Seat; Turning their backs on the Real Musicians. As a result, people have been bread & conditioned to like the "Digital" sound where everything is Loud, Proud, Rigid, Non-Expressive, Looped, Stereo-Wide & quite frankly lifeless. And they force it upon ears. ->
@therealKINDLE i'm for ur stands and constanly believe in LOVE(no adjectives to describe cuz love is to feel ) is solution to the every kind of chaos happening in us.
POP Music is manufactured in cold environments & Sung by a new kind of "Models" for the most part. Seriously, let me know when you hear a POP Song that's over 5 Minutes long. They demanded outrageous things from Musicians such as "6 Hit-Singles on the Album", & setting imminent deadlines.
So Musicians were pushed to the furthest rims of commerciality, where they treat it as Pieces, performances & movements in an ART. Not as a Product in an industry. And that is where we shall stay. Pls Suprt us
the mix of electro and classical shows music is evolving. come on out of the dark ages where music fits to a 'genre' and must adhere to that genre's rules. let music become music, a never dying tradition demonstrating a person's emotions, be it hate, love, fear, elation, depression, anything. but let it be represented exactly how the artist feels it should. people complain, then again, some may agree with me. but my belief is what i have said here. music can and is evolving- evolving beautifully
I believe it means something that is caught in the wind, I don't think it has a direct translation from Icelandic to english. 'fjaðra-fok' is feathers caught in the wind, so fok would be just the wind part, I have a very primitive knowledge of Icelandic so I may be wrong. Hope that helps.
... becasue its IDM music man... you got to understand that the idm music makes move your arms like a fu***** crazy ... or makes move your body ... listen it ... if not you re going to live in 1881 ... there is no problem about that if you want it ;-) ... thanks bye.
I know what IDM is, and I would not define this as IDM, and I used to listen to that genre too. All I'm saying is that I would prefer this music without the electronics, I think it sounds cheesy. I pretty much dislike most electronic genres. Does anyone know if he has released this song without the electronic parts?
It isn't IDM in a pure way ... but its an "Ambient Idm" ... I'm just saying this: He got 2 neo-classical albums ... and only 1 fu++++ song with electronic sound ... hahaaaa ... the fusion of genres its very cool in our minds ... Thanks rabbit its a placer to talk about music (im from argentina, south america)
And yes, he produces probably the best modern classical music at this moment (if there's such term)... Pity really that he decided to make a minimal techno album but hey, maybe it will turn out even good...
@ognistik He is huge in Iceland...part of the problem is in the USA we have completely lost real music. We have gone from Sinatra to Chris Brown and team Breezy. Iceland has so many wonderful artists.
i love this song its the only type of music i'll listen to without singing and ima say this so dont be hating on me but its the kinda song you could image suicide too a lil
I got that feeling the first time I heard the song. Like, it's hard to explain... but the way this song just starts coming together at the end amazes me... so beautiful <3

@Maaz139 I don't know about that. It's amazing as hell, but I wouldn't consider any part of it "classical." The whole thing is contemporary.
