my school is doing aida, and i have to say that it looks strange to me since the ministers are male-not enoughs guys auditioned, so the roles were filled by girls. also our zozer is a sevie and he is better. this guy is terrible.
So my school is doing Aida currently. We are using this video for our music (temporarily) and by god, we can't help but mock this guy. Our Zoser is better by far.
Good voice this Zoser, but his acting sucks (sorry!) my college's theater company just did a production of Aida and their Zoser was so energetic, so vicious, plus an amazing, commanding voice, I cant help but comparing
im sorry, but i topped this guy. I play Zoser in the Lauderdale County production of AIDA at MCC. Instead of just standing there and singing, i add funk to it. Plus, i look alot more creepy than this guy, and act a lil more creepy.
he has an amazing voice. but the lack of choreography and chorus took away from it. i'd give it a c plus, since it was simply dependant on his voice alone. needs visuals!
@jackskellingtonsora Meridian Community College, in Mississippi is doing this play and i have the lead of Zoser. Im performing more like hes a sly son of a bitch, trickster ya know, but with a solid rock voice until like father like son where i belt out a oprea singer high note on "SON" at the end, its badass. when we get the dvd ill post it
our school just did this, and it was way different. Zoser for you had an ok voice, i mean when he doesn't scream the notes he sounds good, but when he gets too loud you can hear his voice crack
Beautiful voice for Zoser, but a weak male chorus, mostly because it was so small. The simple choreography would have been pulled off better with more people and more precision.
I wish they would have done more set wise. It's just kinda un-entertaining to stare at the same background. Same with the blocking/choreography, it seems to concert like and not like a musical
The poster of these videos plays Zozer. I thought he did pretty well, not in this song particularlly though. The last note of the song, as well as all the other held notes in the play, are supposed to bring it together and he hit the notes lower than they should have been. Blake Ewing(Who played Derrik in Full House as a child) plays Radames. I loved him in this because it seemed so perfect for him:D.
everything about this scene was stiff..the lead coulda really played with the character some more..and the choreography could have been more exciting as well as the lighting..however the leads voice was dreamy!
i wish i could see the entire play again. i haven't seen it since 2002 i think. the ymta did fairly well. i listen to the album often and this is not far off. couple of nasty patches but not enough to get upset about. though i wish the videos were in order on the playlist.
i know i've commented a lot on these videos, but letting some of u know, a musical doesn't have to have a lot of props to be good. some of the best musical have simple sets and costumes and props, or even very little sets and props. so don't make bad comments cause you had more props or better props.
Yeah, not to be dising or anything, but our school's Zoser was better than this one. Plus our stage was much more colorful and there were more people singing and they all had sticks and stuff.
ah we just had closing night for our performance of AIDA it was amazing id have to say our zoser was really amazing but he is like just one of those people who can be truly evil with that stage presence but you guys over all with all your parts our AMAZING good job!
wow, this is awesome! I just saw a children's prouduction of Aida, and suprisingly, the person who sang this was a girl. She sang it more blues-ish if that makes sense. :)
we did this for my schools musical last year, and id have to say, i like the way our zoser sang a lot more then this one did. i say that only because he was actually able to sing this song an octive lower then how this guy sings it. it really does sound much better when it is sung a lot lower, it also makes him seem a little more angry because usually the villians in musicals do usually have somewhat lower voices.
I love this song. Just, his voice doesnt seem to quite suit this song very well. As secret said, it needs to be belted out at certain parts and singing on the off beats more. He's got a great voice though.
hmmm zosers voice is good, but not for this song. He seems way to calm, hes not belting out in the right places or singing on the offbeats to giv this song its bluesy/ reggae feel.
His voice was good, and the choreography was great, but i didnt see much zoser. evil and powerful....just wasnt there. i think he could have done more then paced back and forth... but it was awesome.
All that aside, I loved the dancing, it was top notch and fun to watch. The set//drop was simple, but did so much. The scrim lights helped capture the mood extraordinarily well. Lastly, Zoser had an amazing voice, and did this song justice.
I loved the set and Zoser, but the costumes and coreography seemed too Asian for an Egyptian play...
Also, the Ministers didn't have much energy, I could barely hear them on the off chance they sung. Zoser singing their parts also sounded a bit tacky, and him being miced didn't help the Ministers too much.
haha We left Egypt for a moment and went to Japan. Sweet. A lot of money in this production, but not a lot of energy or excitement... These kids make me mad.
i played zoser recently and i wanted to sing another pyramid like this, but my director yelled at me, and told me that i wasn't supposed to be sound like this. so she took my mic away, and made me fight with band to be heard, and grrr.
but if i were her i would say that the zoser in this video is a punk, and that he lacks the power and menacing that zoser requires.
Our school is putting on Aida right now, and our Zoser was wayyyy better! Sorry, but it's true. And the ministers danced way better!

He has a pretty good voice, but the choreography lookde more like a Tae-Bo class than actual choreography. Zoser, however, had great presence.
