  • Nice!

  • Nice job Kultus!

    Great video!

I normally use a blow torch when harvesting parts as they dissolve the solder like a hot knife through butter.

Now I just need to find a TV!

we normally have our annual scrap collection a few days before Halloween, so should have some nice goodies within the next 3 weeks.

Just have to beat the Pikies to the salvage :)

  • @IrishDaveatTeepForum Never thought to use a blow torch, I may look in to getting one soon, I am having Bugz's problem of burnt finger tips from holding the components as it is easier than using a pair of pliers to grip every single one, GOOD LUCK beating the pikies to the Tele's mate ... don't forget to grab the Microwaves too lol :P

  • My original intention was just to buy the test leads, remove the wire and re-solder the rated wire for each specific application. But it appears what your saying is that you can just buy the alligator clips? Thats fantastic! I have a few mini gator clips but those usually only work well for smaller applications. They work wonders for the arduino. Would love to have some different sizes. I have a huge box full of different rated wire, sounds like a weekend project for me. =D Now onto wire covers!

  • @bugs181 yep most electronic shops stock these alligator clips on their own with no wires, but harbor freight is by far the cheapest.

  • @TheKultus Awesome, ill be sure to pick some up. Well, ill leave ya be. Your probably getting annoyed at the notifications and such. email me sometime, or shoot me a facebook request (if you have one) from email.

  • @bugs181 All good mate, this is my day job at the moment :) Fb request sent.

  • Those little yellow alligator clip wires make all the difference for "tinkering". Dont suppose you know what their called or where I can get me some from? Im honestly tired of burning my fingers with the soldering pen , lol. =P

As for the video.. I give it a thumbs up. Iv been a little busy mucking around with arduino and compiling software on linux lately, so havnt had time to build the daftman yet. Also havnt had a chance to talk with ya lately.. hit me up sometime =)

  • @bugs181 Hey Bugz great to hear from you, was only thinking of you just this morning... lol

To solve your burning finger, goto harbor freight, they sell em search: 18 inch low voltage multi colored test leads, I have not much more to report then what I've got here on Youtube, it's all been preparation, prep and more prep for the last couple of weeks, been waiting on overseas bought components that havn't arrived, So just started the prep on this High volt HHO I've been meaning to get around to

  • @TheKultus Well you've got some great progress and results so far. Keep up the good work! When you say low voltage - whats the rating on those little buggers? Im sure I can find this out before I buy some as well, but just curious if you knew before-hand. As for the overseas (import), I cant complain. Here in the US my packages from China were suppose to take close to 2 months and I received the packages in under 2 weeks.. thats SUPER FAST!! Great to hear from you as well bud. =)

  • @bugs181 they are rated to 300volts, they are quite thin so for use on HV like I have the insulation is not verry good at all, harbor freight also sell a packet of Mixed Clips like the one on the end of these ones to make your own HV ones like I intend to do next week when I have a little more cashola, search on harbor freight for "28 Piece Electrical Clip Set" then you just get wire to suit your spec mate. hope that all helps mate :) ...

Can't wait to see your current project in action :)
