Amazing arsenal of imagination, which is naturally expected from a great actor like Gary. And I really like his choice of words: fallen angel, delicious cocktail, all of that throat!! ... also he would have made a great real life vampire, esp. judging by the shaving scene :)
when i was younger i saw Beethoven at school and i thought "OMG i love the actor who plays Beethoven!", then i watched the fifth element and thought the same about Zorg, then i saw Dracula and thought the same...then i found out they were...all the same person! Love him!
He must single handedly be one of the most engaging, intriguing, talent, and yet underrated actors of our time. How many other actors, aside from maybe Daniel Day Lewis who comes to mind are os gifted at transforming into completely different characters and so convincingly every single time.
The best Dracula ever? No way. The best despite limited budget version of Dracula ever and MAYBE the best portrayal of Dracula ever was the 1977 BBC version starring Louis Jourdan; it is truly BRAM STOKER'S Dracula and not Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula. By the way, Frank Finney is great as Dr. Van Helsing and does not do a parody of him the way Anthony Hopkins does.
@RPenta a good movie is not just the same as the book..is about bring you in a new experience..bram stoker's as itself is pretty boring as a film, but the love story and the fight between good ad bad is interesting
Dracula is the friggin bomb shell, friggin hotter than fire. I love him love him love him. I love him! He's like... the character... I don't know. I really like this fantasy that just came out of nowhere. I didn't even want to watch that movie really bad before. Yep.. I was on absinthe when I first watched it... (romantic sigh)... I don't know what I've been doing without this. I've already thought of this idea in some shape or form... but.. I hope he keeps that character in mind sometimes... :(
Well as far as script character is concerned he is gods revenging angle against the Turks, the Turks who are attacking his home land, which is catholic. He then turns on god/the church after he blames the church and god for taking the only true love he has...Watch the movie.
lol, i have seen the movie which is why i intended to comment on the scene here. I was not commenting on the fallen "angel syndrom" he portrays in the movie, that scene where he throws his sword at the cross in defiance of what has occurred vowing for vengeance, as he cries aloud, "is this how i am rewarded for my service to god?" is mesmorizing to say the least....My comment reflected on the fact that he names, "RAFAEL" as the fallen angel in the interview, when it was not him, but lucifer.

Its "easy" and "boring" to play the devil....He is so straightforward. basically every body plays the devil and he wants it to be more.

Under-rated actor. He is a craftsman of acting.

Is it just me or is his hair almost as mesmerizing as his speech..

I love interviews when they cut back and forth from his normal self to his character. It really shows his versatility more.
