  • I have one of these guys! He's my favorite fish! Well, him, the Raphael and the Calico Pleco.

  • @LeoMessi42, Mine are all tank bred. I dont feel that there's a need to take them from the wild anymore. I feed mine on a wide variety of foods ranging from bloodworm. Prawn and brineshrimp, together with a good staple food such as Tetra Prima. Make sure to post a vid of yours when you can.

  • You really need something a little bigger. 60L is the minimum for a pair

  • great video!

  • Wicked fish!

  • Hi there , Great video he seems really tame. I have just got a synodontis Muhipunctatus. My chiclids seem to hammer all the flake of the top and im a little worried he is not getting enough food?. I am going out to day to get him some baby brine shrimp/crill etc will this sort him out..Thank you in Advance. DM.

  • Hi, thanks for the comment. Multi's are nice fish, but yes your cichlids will tend to get the lions share of the food. A couple of idea's spring to mind - One is to buy "Tetra prima", or similar sinking pellets, both multi and cichlids should get at the food equally that way. Another thing to do is to put in the food as the lights go out, your catifish will have a distinct advantage over the cichlids that way and will get to the food quicker.

  • i love those catfishes

  • wow this one is really tame, i have 5 for a few days now. They stay hidden between the rocks during daytime.

  • @jforce06 They should start to come out during the day once they have settled in. Nice little catfish I think

  • @jforce06 You'll be glad you got them... I have 4 of them... Most awesome catfish ever... My catfish don't come to my hand but if you gently nudge them onto your hand they will swim around it forever... So Happy I got mine

  • these guys look awesome, can they be in a 55 gallon community?

  • @ChrisH11515 you might get away with it if the waters alkali. Fishmates have to be non aggressive

  • hes cute my pleco does that :D

  • Those fish are awesome, the proper name is Synodontis petricola. I have 4 of them ...

  • @krycek29 Hiya, no thet are actually Synodontis lucipinnis, thats a common mistake, I only said petricola in the title because most people wouldnt recognise their proper name. petricola has its spots in lines, instead of random like the lucipinnis.

  • i really like these fish! really active and fun to watch, saw one in he LFS using the jet of water from the powerhead to swim on its back alon gthe water surface

  • cool, i added a syno to my tank 2 weeks ago, he's been hiding since then tonight he's decided to go on a crazy tour of the tank, awesome fish

  • Careful when sticking ur hand in the water ur hand is giving off oil. Thats pretty cool how u got that tiny cat tamed gj:)

  • I almost got some baby petricolas, I have a euptirus, a very fat one at that. :)

  • Hey thats awsome!!! I just got one today myself. I will post a video soon...

  • look forward to it

  • wow soo cute, now i want dwarf syno too, but not easy to get them where i am.

  • how big can these guys get?

    are they compatible with featherfin?

    thx for the vid

  • I would say so. Featherfins are very territorial but they hide most the time until feeding time. And night. Their nocturnal. Anyway, if you have plenty of hiding spots to where it will leave your featherfin alone it should be fine. My Featherfin is very calm with other fish, it likes them. Quite strange. Well too my synodontis nebulosus.

  • @KwakeDesign about 4 inches, yes compatible with S, eupterus. Tankmates for S,eupterus include - S, brichardi, S,shoutedeni & S, alberti, among others

  • how big do these get can they go with african cichlids thx

  • 4 inches. Yeah they can go with chichlids

  • @pj0998 from the same region

  • Completely different requirements, sorry.

  • are they good with goldfishes do they have teeth cause i usually hand feed my pets

  • sweet

  • Nice video i have put this vid in my Fovorites.

Somtime's when i am Cleaning my Fishtank all of My Petricola's Are Smiming around my hand and trough my fingers very funny to see

  • That would be cool to see, why dont you try to video it?

  • I got a Video oN mY cHANNEL Now. i filmt it with my mobile fhone cam.

i try to make a better qaulity video

  • it was only temporary, he has since been moved. However they can tolerate a wide ph spectrum

  • how do you have your lucipinnis in a planted with Tiger barbs? or yoyo loaches? cuz theyre hard and alkaline water..

  • anyone know the difference between the syno petricola and lucippinis??? is one of them the dwarf synos?

  • petricola has its spots in lines, instead of random

  • would it hurt to be bitten by one? i have one but am nervous to do this!!!

  • Not at all, just tickles a little ;)

  • wow, my synodontis is realy shy, it will only come out of it's cave at feeding time... it is a differend kind of synodontis do, cause it's almost 25 cm... and his friends are all 17 cm

  • mine hides l;ike this, only comes out when fed.

  • Most are like this. Very curious and not scared. They also like to swim around the tank like a snake and following one another. They a really fun to watch in groups of 8 or more.
