  • wow, I hate the us army for the crimes they've done, but man they do have gear!!

  • How many gallons in that short amount of time.

  • some crazy pilot was doing low flyovers over Hobart, Tasmania in one of these babies, right on top of me when i was fishing in the river. I will never forget it! I have no idea how, I honestly don't believe clearacre would possibly have been given... this was back in the days when the us used to do refuelling stops on the way to iraq...

  • wow the engines shake like hell!

  • ive been in one of them <3

  • @Jasonbialkowski Hang on a minute.... Did you just say that a C-130 "Hercules" cannot land on a short dirt runway and the C-17 can??? You must have a serious check on your facts before making a statement in a forum.... just for your info the C-130 can pretty much land anywhere that is flat ground either desert strip dirt, snow, unprepared runway even grass strip... on the other hand C-17 is a great in every aspect but it doesnt have the landing capabilities like a C-130

  • @michael747400

I hate to be the troll here but, im gonna have to, Jason is right, and ur not so right, C-17 is a much bigger and heavyer plane, but it can land in shorter runways, becuse the fins (I dont know the name in english) of the rubrine can rotate to an oposite angle, so the air is force to the front of the plane, its like putting reverse.

  • @valderramajeria technical term is "Reverse Thrust" engine capability.

  • @valderramajeria C130 can still land much shorter. Atleast the J series because of reversing pitch props. The C17 has thrust reverse, But the engine Cowling opens in the front most section of the engine and vents air forward. It usually cannot push a full C17 backwards and only accounts for about 15% braking power.

  • @valderramajeria I know where you are comming from and you are right, btw its called winglet (fin on the wing) its purpose is to reduce drag while the aircraft is in flight as it stopped the vortex from forming on the tip of the wing. as a result making the aircraft more effecient and can travel further distance. However it does not help the aircraft to land in a shorter ground distance. The C-17 is great performance aircraft, love it.

  • @valderramajeria But in term of landing and the amount of space it takes its still cannot beat the Hercules capability as its a bigger aircraft, but other than that the C-17 is a great aircraft.

  • really nice quality video man. Good work

  • That's pretty cool.

  • Spooky to see engines 3 and 4 shaking so much, I was waiting for the engine supports to break off. The C-17 will go down in history as the most "unnecessary", "unneeded" plane of all time. The C-130 has handled the missions for over 50 years, and could continue for 50 more years with upgrades. The C-17 is a total waste of taxpayers money!

  • @Tampaslice tell that to the wounded service members that have been airevaced out on a c-17.

  • @Tampaslice lol must be a 130 pilot. The Herk could never handle the msn of the 17. When was the last time a Herk took cargo and delivered it from the states to the AOR in one day? I used to work on 130s. Dont miss anything about them. I like having air conditioning that works. I find it funny E's and H's still have 5 plus crew to deliver 6 pallets at the most. Lol 6!

  • Fantastic...how did you manage to score a ride in a tanker?

  • this is soooo cool!!!!!
