  • there may be a speed limit for trains, but who's gonna pull over a fucking train?

  • faster than amtrak...

  • u shouldnt shove your camera under the train. like in the third seen you can actually see the dots and dirt on the camera, i would only reccomend u to do it if u have 1 cam for shoving under trains, and 1 for regular filming, but still excelent vid, nice railfanning.

  • GE P42's actually can't do any better then 105 MPH, but that doesn't matter since the rail's are limited to 100 MPH due to track and signal's.

  • it's more like 100 KPH

  • @BarbarousPit553 VIA and CN before it operate passenger trains scheduled at 100 mph between Toronto & Montreal. In America, 79 mph is the fastest a passenger train can go without automatic train stop signals. In Canada, its 100 mph if the track, trains and grade crossing conditions permit it. And more than 70 percent of the Toronto-Montreal route is good for 100 mph. The 100 mph-rated districts have expanded to much of Windsor-Chatfield, Toronto-Ottawa, Ottawa-Montreal, & Montreal-Quebec.

  • Haha the horn on that last train sounded cool

  • Big drama at 0:44. Thanks for the video!!

  • you had a speed gun

  • talk about haulin ass

  • 1st one, i was like where is the tra--, holy crap where did that come from

  • 0:25 and 0:44 reminded me of asdf movie i like trains lol

  • that second one was close!!!

  • And yet people still try and beat trains at crossings... Yeah. Let's have one of these fast fuckers come at you.

  • WHY does Canada drive their trains like Chinese people drive cars?!?!?!

  • Holy fuck, that track is a danger, you can see the rails being pushed down and the stones moving due to that, something that should never happen, at least not at this scale. A tiny, tiny, tiny bit is ok, but not this.

The stones have not been pushed underneath the tracks to give it more strenght and so this happens.

Get a life insurrance before using the train i suggest.

  • @CRTukker

I don't recall there ever being issues with safety on the Windsor-Montreal (or Quebec) corridor, and it's incredibly heavily travelled. It's possible that this very specific spot has issues but in general the line this was filmed on has an impecable safety record.

  • WICKED!!!

  • Daum, that Train is fast like a bat out of hell!!!

  • Aren't VIA engines governed at 90mp/h?

  • none of these trains looked like 100mph

  • @milepost312

Mile 50.49 Kingston sub..... always fast!!!

  • Good day

    I can only say

    "Tres' bien!

    Definitely fast eh

  • I timed the first train, it seemed to be doing 110 mph....Which is weird, because the speed limit is 100 mph...Isn't it? P42's are capable of 110mph, though, so aren't they allowed to go that fast?

  • @trinityct

I film at this crossing specifically because these guys are often truckin hard.... I'm sure they are over 100 most of the time...

  • @LanceCampeau Cool! The faster, the better! :)

  • @LanceCampeau VIA Trains cannot go over 100MPH, MAX they can go on all routes is 99MPH.

  • @LanceCampeau What about the F40PHs? Aren't they only capable of 100? :)

  • @trinityct - The maximum speed limit allowed is 100mph. There's no way you timed the train doing 110mph as the overspeed is set at 105mph.

  • @FPA46787 Hmm. Well, it's in the 100 mph area, maybe it's doing 104 or 105, which looks like 110 mph..... Either way, that's a fast train! :)

  • I'm a big critic when it comes to some of the movies but this is someting i would like to try once

  • I gotta try this angle sometime! Hell, I am planning on getting a new camera anyway. Too cool! Thanks Lance for sharing this.

  • Wow cool! The last one was really cool.

  • And that is why you don't play on railroad tracks.

  • the first one made me jump.

  • i hope that you was there with the camera to hold it, right? ;D

  • bad u can lose a camra

  • I see you almost lost your camera there on the final train. How did you secure your camera so you wouldn't loose it?

  • @qnuts

Didn't secure the camera... I figured, the ballast doesn't get picked up and thrown around so why would my camera?

  • @LanceCampeau if you film under the train again dig a little of the ballast out to make a hole then as the train come push record and place it in the hole and watch the train role over it :D

  • @trainzchronicles you do know thats illegal, right?

  • @lotsoftrains123 its only illegal if you get cought

  • @LanceCampeau your camera has a higher surface area which means more space for the wind to act on,

  • was the first train with the MK4 cars from the UK?

  • @Amtrak1194

Yes, Via acquired lots of MK4 cars that were going to be used on the "Nightstar" channel tunnel service, but that project was abandonned. Via picked them up for really cheap, and rebranded them "rennaisance" cars.

  • The camera got pwnd on the last oneLOL

  • the last one was the coolest

  • cool

  • i love the red stone at the left side :D

  • what if someone was using the train bathroom?! lol

  • I was expecting that first one to come from in front rather than behind....so THAT was a surprise!

  • @5521Brite That's what she said..

  • that'd be bad if the camera shifted and got ran over by the wheels!

  • We need some high speed in Canada

  • We are Canadian.

  • u put this video on my birth day lol

  • yup this is very fast for a north american train.

  • Do you work for the railway?

  • no. i do not believe he works for the railway. he is just a railfan.

  • Cool!

  • The Kingston Sub sure has some hot trains. Great video Lance

  • that freaKING FAST

  • I hope you take an old camera lol

We can see it moving by the wind under the train,,nice videos..
