  • No matter what anyone says that doesn't like this style of music or for that matter doesn't like Debbie Gibson. The true fact is she holds a title to this day of being the youngest person to write, sing and produce multiple number one hits. I didn't make that up. It's a fact. Sure there are very talented female singers now, but you still can't say they were as young as she and that they took that title from her. That was 1987, it's 2012...that's a long ass time, prove me wrong, then I will listen

  • LET'S GO TO THE MALL!!!! lolz.. ;-)

  • she was as crap then as is now , never heard such a load of shit

  • @sidecrusher If by crap you mean the youngest singer to ever write, produce and sing her own music, #1 songs at that, which she still holds that title to this day then I guess that would be a very strange definition of something or someone being "crap." Maybe you didn't like her style of music but most female singers today couldn't hold a candle to her talent. You're entitled to your opinion. She validated herself in music history by writing and singing #1 hits at a very young age.

  • @dagcdc7775

    Yes Crap ,,, with a capital C..

Anyone can write such gumph lyrics , it was a *man* in the studio

lets not forget that it was session musicians lets not forget that either

that are infinitely more talented than her

Goldfrapp , Tracy Chapman, Madonna , Gaga , Sheryl Crow , I could write names all evening, where is she now? trouble with her is once everyone got sick of that pap that she wrote and got sick of that producers formula, she came up against that same old Lack of Talent

  • @sidecrusher Too bad you can't come back with a title any of those you stated as I did. The proof speaks for itself lol. 25 plus years and she stills holds that title, I don't have to defend her. You are just a little boy with a little penis that is intimidated by women :)

  • @sidecrusher Oh and she is still around. I wasn't comparing her to today's music, I said she had more talent than most female singers today have in their pinky fingers. Why haven't those artist you mentioned wrote, produced and sang #1 hits? I am not making it up. You would think in 25 plus years someone could claim the same title but they haven't. Nothing you can say to prove any different.

  • Adorables 80´s

  • una buena canción yo tendria la edad del bebe q sale en inicio del video (2 añitos) pero igual la escuchaba y bailaba jajajajaj viva la buena musica

  • i think this was debbie gibson's last album or maybe next to last. i was 13 years old and she was my absolute idol. the only records i owned were from her. but i remember by this time i was thinking she had gotten a bit wilder than on her previous records. my my my, have times changed :(

  • that's true. she kept it clean & positve.

  • 2:52 LOL..

  • Today, The execs in The Music Industry wouldn't want anything to do with Debby Gibson. For one thing, she's a musician(she plays piano), and she's a songwriter. These execs should burn in hell for that.

  • Debbie Gibson was a true talent, without having to show her body and she was still loved by millions, what happened to that concept?

  • @blondyx0 that was in the 80s, nowadays you have to shake your ass to gain success! just ask to shitkira or shithanna

  • @blondyx0 It's general degradation of the world. Who knows maybe today's music will seem like pure innocence and naïveté in 20 years.

  • brings back memories....i can still remember i danced on the stage with this song during our acquaintance party............the elementary years...........c",)

  • Teen pop princesses didn't used to perform naked.

  • Such a talent. Debbie actually wrote, sang, and PRODUCED her own songs. Still the youngest female artist to ever do all three on a #1 song (Foolish Beat).

  • I really like with this song when I was younger, now I've aged 40 yo, always evoke the spirit of my soul to always be young ...;) Electric Youth.....woooow....

  • i couldn't do those dance moves as a kid. glad i didn't. nothing to regret

  • Same premise as Kids in America.

  • So many dance moves here to comprehend ! Yes you can see where Britney got her ideas from.

  • @jdmitchell2

Keep in mind this was from the late eighties. Who knows! Maybe she was considered a S**t in her days. Clothes and make-up do not make or portray a persons self or being. So for you to compare other females and assume on this Video..pfft..Put a lid on it! :)

  • @jdmitchell2 Wow she looks like me in high school lol! She was a role model for me. I am 37 now and listened to Debbie Gibson since she first came out; I was 11.

  • Putaine you mean Britney Spears look like Debbie Gibson.....Britney is the Debbie Gibson of today

  • @princessinfinty nope debbie was the britney spears of the 90s not the britney spears of today because the britney spears of today is just a mere shell of her own self from the 90s

  • just a little overdone I would say

  • The thing about Debbie is that she pretty much, wrote, sang and produced all her songs - Electric Youth being one of her smartest lyrically. You rarely see that this day and age - especially with the younger artists.

  • very good song :D

  • I loved that perfume! I smelled so sweet...my big brother bought it for me for a Christmas gift in 89 :)

  • @puotaine Don't you mean that Britney Spears looks like Debbie Gibson! Debbie was much more talented. She was the youngest person to sing, write and produce a number one record at the age of 17. And she still is beautiful and performing her music. No disrespect but where is Britney ?

  • Receving an award for her entire carrer at the VMA's!!

  • COMO VAN A COMPARARLA CON BRITNEY...

DEBBIE CANTA , NO SE PUEDE DECIR LO MISMO DE BRITNEY O SI?

  • I loved Tiffany and Debbie they were awesome in the 80's :)

  • @JamesJB32 forgot the Bangles too lol

  • Debbie Gibson= quite possibly the ONLY musical artist I liked growing up in the 80's.

And she made it WITHOUT tarting herself up!

  • @SunnasChariot are you 75? who says "tart" in 2011?

  • @CAPropTaxAppeal I'm in my 30's and remember when tart was used more often than whore, slut and all those other words. And i think 'tarting' is an appropriate word, thank you.

  • LOVE the dancing in this video. So natural and fun!

  • Love the 80's music and this song reminds me my chiLdhood..Love it!:)

  • I loved this when I was small .. Oh wait I still do!

  • .jajaja estas eran ídolas juveniles!

  • batmanleg1 go fuck yourself

  • 80's pop music is still the best.......

  • Anyone else notice how easy she made that dancing look? LOL I've been watching that video for at least 20 yrs and still haven't been able to get it all! :D

  • I remember i was 10 years old when this came out. It was my first introduction to Deb's music. I have been a fan ever since.

  • Steves Peeps tweeted this

  • I remember buying this single and it chills me to the bone that it is from 1989... I only came here after seeing her playing Katy Perry's mom in T.G.I.F.

  • @keroffin1 I got a tape of some of her songs tucked away somewhere.

  • This is one of my most favourite songs from her!

  • 懐かしすぎる!

  • Debbie Gibson was the Britney Spears of her day. She even looked like Britney!

  • @poutaine I was just about to say that!

  • @poutaine i agree! the britney of the 80s! without the headshaving and stuff...LOL!!

  • @poutaine Except she wasn't a slutty whore who abused autotune.

  • @poutaine I was just going to write the same thing.Wow they do look alike.Even the dancing.

  • @poutaine you mean britney looks like Debbie!:)

  • @poutaine I thought the same!

  • @poutaine I disagree. Debbie Gibson was WAY more talented at the same age.

  • @poutaine=No she isn't the Britney Spears of her day and does not look like Britney either. Debbie Gibson is just herself.

  • @poutaine : nah she looked more like Blossom.

  • @poutaine What a stupid comparison.

  • cool!! GREAT

  • Of all the videos in her Atlantic Years, this is still my top fave!! She dances in it, the video had an interesting feel....it remains #1 with me!

  • I USED TO FANCY DEBBIE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. I HOPE SHE HASNT TURNED LESBO.I WOULD STILL SLEEP WITH HER,,

  • Debbie is worth 15 million. I am surprised I thought she was broke.

  • EWWWWWWWW,,,,, the Dance Step is so lame.... and old!

    Nice song anyway!

  • @BadAssCommentor=C'mon the choreography is the best and awesome.

  • god do I miss Debbie. I never could decide who I loved more as a kid...at gunpoint I suppose I'd say Debbie over Tiffany

  • ahh the glory days...damn DG was a hottie...80s rule

  • Wow this takes me back to when I was only 7!! I even remember hey had a perfume after this song it smelled so nice!!!!!!!! Hmmm I wonder if they have it on Ebay LOL

  • @BellaHoney81 I used to love the smell. I was 10. The bottle was cool with the spiral pink tube. I searched for it a few years ago on eBay and I saw it. Of course it wouldn't smell the same, but I still remember the smell. The song was first though and it was used in the ad ;-)

  • @BellaHoney81 I don't know Yes! I had the perfume hahaha! awesome gonna see if they have it!:)

  • the little girl althe beginin´...is one of the olsen twins?

  • @milsexterciosily If I recall correctly, yes it is.

  • Reminds me of those Robin Sparkles clips off How I Met Your Mother :D

  • AWESOME

  • I have to confess: I wasn't the biggest DG fan back in the day, but now that I look back, she had some class. She never would have got up out of a car and let the whole world see her tweeter.

  • I remember Sears used to play this video in their "teen" section , back in the day. And yes, I proudly wore her perfume (and listened to this album non stop).

  • Who here had a bottle of Electric Youth perfume? It smelled very good. I miss it. :( Remember when you were young.

  • @LadyLotus74

its sold on ebay for about $ 25

  • @MaunaLoa09 Whoo! I would've bought it for that much. Too bad I missed out. :(

  • @LadyLotus74 i soooo had that same perfume it was nice

    (goodbye good ol' days)

  • @annab52675 Really, they need to bring it back as some kind of retro product. :D

  • Who here had a bottle of Electric Youth perfume? It smelled very good. I miss it. :(

  • @LadyLotus74 Oh, I think I did!

  • good.

  • I WAS GRADE FOUR WHEN THIS SONG REACH ITS PEAK!!UNTIL NOW I STILL LOVE IT!!

  • I love Debbie Gibson.I was crazy about her when I first saw her on Night tracks back in the 80's.I saw her in concert twice and wanted her so bad,I couldn't stand it.I'm only a few years older than her,but alas,it was never meant to be.I really liked her music and style back then, but we have too many sorry spin-offs from her and they aren't worth a crap.I'll take Debbie and her music and style anyday! She was just so doggone cute!I'd love to have wrapped my arms around her and held her forever.

  • This video is like the worst episode of Glee

  • Britney and Christina also have talents but after their pilot singles their craft seemed to diminish and got weirder. What the hell girls, really
