Mr. H, what would happen if I took my 2010 Gibson Les Paul and arranged the bridge system in a way that implemented that wrap-around? All new age Les Pauls that I've seen have the stop bar tail piece, and I believe it's the same thing as that wrap-around bridge system?
Please god don't try that! Either buy one or the other already made that way. It's a can of worms you'll open and you might permanently wreck the guitar!
The riff from 0:00 to 0:40 is the same right? What tuning are you in, and is the last bit of the riff before 0:40 a song? Sounds familiar.. Its pretty freakin sweet!
Tele? SG? LP? Strat? The age old problem we all have. They're all different and do different things but no one can be helped making a choice in the end. However, if you decide to go with one, make it a really nice guitar you spend a bit of money on and get cheap copies of the other ones you don't have and can't afford. That way you cover the bases and are satisfied you have at least one quality guitar that works 100%!
Hey that sounds so good specially when u played some blues. I have an epiphone les paul u think i could get a sound something like that? Were u using any pedals? Can u tell me ur basic amp settings?
For blues I like a little overdrive and my tone controls at, 4-Bass, 4-Midrange 6-Treble. This is when I use a Fender amp. However, these settings change from amp to amp.
@willy346 i would suggest getting your pickups changed to a seymore dunkan or a dimazio set up if you wish to have yours sound like a gibson becuase epiphone pickups sound like shit
@uva2323 I've played tube amps. They sound 10x better than any roland. I'm just saying when coming out of a computer the sounds aren't too different...
the pickup rings are weird- i guess they used the same bodies as the les paul deluxes of the period which were routed for mini humbuckers with pickup rings- cool though
That's some pretty damn nice playing John. You sound good playing a LP. Should gig with one of these now and then let the 335 and Strat rest once in a while.
i always knew a gibson could sound great ,, but i do think a strat is better ,, ps what do you like more maple necks or rosewood necks? personal survey..lol
my strat has a rosewood neck because I thought it looked better with the sienna sunburst finish. i also like more the rosewood neck because it doesn't have a thick layer of shiny finish on it. it sticks a bit on my fingers when i'm doing a bend.
The wood is pre-dried before the guitar's construction. The light weight of this modle is due to its body being made of mostly mahogany and not maple. Maple is a much heavier and denser wood.
even reissues in the 70's were terrible

@johnhguitar I mean, really? I wasn't planning on drilling into it or anything. But I guess there might be an issue with the tension on the neck..?
GuitarKylePlays 1 year ago
Maybe, but you have the truss rod for that.
johnhguitar 1 year ago
@johnhguitar You're right, but I'm just thinking about how different necks are made though. I guess it wouldn't matter?

Never used to care about a goldtop and P-90s but somehow they're cool to me now. Very nice guitar. Wish I had one like it.

p90's fit in the same routs as mini humbuckers. those goof rings were just something they did back then. you can take them off if you dont like them.
is this a pancake body or is it one piece?
