I listen to both versions back to back personally, a double dose of greatness.

Trent first (his is quieter so it goes first) and then Cash's.

It doesn't matter though. I think it's more a testament to the quality of the song and a compliment to Trent that Cash could cover it. Country covering the guy who did "Wish"? that's a milestone really.

And amongst Cash covers, Trents in good company.

I saw NIN live in 2007 when they came to Budapest for the Sziget festival. I didn't really know much of them then, but that concert was a lifechanging experience. When they played "Wish," and "The Beginning of the End," they won me over. I thought they couldn't top those until Trent played "Hurt" and I've been a diehard fan since. UP THE NAILS!

This is my favorite NiN song and video to date. I do agree with you, agnessrox, I'm sure he is crying. If I remember correctly I think he wrote this song about his drug addiction he had and how it had ruined him in a way producing this absolutely beautiful song. This is my favorite version of it by far it's just got such more meaning behind it than the album version because it seems to be more of a personal song to the fans until the end.
