This definetly gets 5 golden stars!!...I liked how you actually explained it step by step, instead of just drawing it with some hipster music on and expect us beginners to get it lol..Is this also how you create the smokey eye? Just curious if I can use the same technique, thank you girl!!
i'm a non make up girl too and I have to say it's the 1st tutorial i watched with pleasure......!!! U seem to have such a sweet personality and oh my God, beautiful clear face and gorgeous eyes...!!
I NEVER NEVER could figure out the Outer V so i finally looked it up found your video and now I KNOW HOW YAY:P Thank you so so much!!! you EXPLAINED IT SO WELL!!! This is why i love you and your Videos:) You are such a great Beauty grue:) I did a really pretty brown eye look and put Dark brown on my Outer V and got it fnally, i guess all i needed was to see your video and have someone like you Explain it in good detail for us
I used the 217 by MAC for the longest time and no matter what I did the crease was TOO high, well come to find out, I have a smaller crease area so it wasnt concentrating the color in the right spot. I got the CVS crease Duo which is great and also a Nars #12 small crease brush, its fluffy like the the MAC217 but alot slimmer and has a pointe so u can get right in the crease area. Both are GREAT for smaller crease areas/eyes. I just use the 217 to blend the colors out versus applying.
Is there an INNER V too ???!! I mean I always thought that the V you drew was the inner V, and that the outer V was a V just above the crease, not ON it.. :/
Well, it all makes sense now...my eyes are too small for the brush that I've been using for this. No wonder it didn't look good! Time to stop neglecting my angled brush. Thanks for the help!
This is as clear as it gets... I love the way you explained this....I need a good stiff blending brush like the 217 thats not mac any recommendations?
@CombatLynn007 Yup I'm aware of them... But looking at the reviews, I am not so sure. I have seen a nice makeup brush thats probably equal to the 217 and its by Boots NO7. I will be ordering it on ebay. Since they only have in the UK
i came across this video by chance.. being a beginner, i hv been watching endless videos on how to apply makeup.. n this is 1 of the most helpful videos i hv watched. thanx a lot!
you really helped me to understand that I have to use different brushes for my eyes because I have small and hooded eyes. No wonder the 217 doesn't work for me Thanks!!
I have struggled with the otter V for a long, long time despite many lessons, thank you soooo much for sharing and giving EASY instructions on how to achieve this, i could cry im so happy :o))))
Omfg thanks so much for acknowledging Asian eyelids, so many gurus forget that Asians don't have much of a crease and it doesn't come easy to do this. Now I know I can do this, thanks sooo much.
I think I don't have the right brush and I don't know how to blend the color. I don't know if I blend to much it ends up fading and have to do it over again. but sometimes I don't blend enough.

You are the best makeup artist ! I have learned so much from you. You explain everything so well. I don't really wear makeup because I am clueless on how to apply it. However, since I have discovered makeup tutorials I am getting much better at it and excited. You are an inspiration to all of us, thanks....
Hey I have a very serious question to ask, and I reallllly need to know because I always have trouble doing it. When you're doing any sort of smokey eye with black how do you get rid of the fall out? I mean it goes EVERYWHERE! And how do I keep the black frm going blue?
hi, what i do is i put loads of cheap powder under my eyes while im doing them n just whipe them off when im done or do eyes first, then get rid of the fall out whit a glue tape n do face after. it works for me :)
that was superb! i was clueless till i saw this tutorial, my eye makeup technique has improved dramatically since watching this video, you're my guru...thank you thank you thank you!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! You would not believe the difference this video has made to my make up, You are truly talented at what you do x x x x x
This was such a helpful video. Thank you so much for your clear and easy to follow instructions. I really enjoy your videos and think you're a great teacher. :)
Thank you very much, this is very informative, but my eyes are not shaped the same, one eyelid dips lower on the outer corner. How do I handle this? Thanks much
This video is so helpful. You do not now how long I have been trying to get this look. Would you mind telling me the number of that Posh brush? Thanks much!
its' easy. everyone has an eyecrease. It's just that not everyone has a "defined" eyecrease. To find just gently dip your brush into the same area where you would create the "V" and the brush should automatically sink into the socket (where you feel your eyeball). And just brush the shadow along the eyeball socket contouring it 1/3 of the way. Don't mean to talk about eyeballs and sockets but that how we do it. Just be gentle and don't press in too hard.
thank you so much! i've seen lots of tutorials that talk about the outer v, but yours is the first i've found that actually explains it in a way i understand. =)
urgggggggggg i tried it so for so many time and still i cant get it i have a almond /round type of eyes and i dont really know whre is my outer v is ....
I finally got it Marlena!! Thank you!! I have been applying eyeshadow incorrectly all this time. I never really had the "blended" look or that outter V. So thank you!!
thanks so much - that's exactly what i needed. i put on look you did and felt like don't getting the perfect outer v like you. keep it up, you are great!
It looks silly cause you're not use to seeing it on yourself. maybe start out with a less intense shade like a light brown. just to get used to the look.
Yesterday I did the Hello Kitty: Lucky Tom look from your collection and I had a lot of trouble doing a nice defined V. I came back to your site and just as I thought, you had this exact video to teach me!
