Feb 1996-"Vietnow" is finished at the last second. Zack wrote this song over a period of 3 nights, and the main riff and choprus was constructed the next week. it was finally recorded about 3 weeks before EE was released

whammy pedal set to an octave higher, he hits the harmonics along the 12th fret of the highest four strings. Drop D tuning

Correct, but I've done this myself, the whammy is actually set at two octaves. He uses the low dropped D for the melody after the noise...So it's like ****Noise*** 12th fret, open, 2nd fret, open, 5th fret, open, ******Noise******* and repeat.

No it is one octave up. I've got the tab book and the pedal, and playing one octave up is definately right.

I agree, two octaves up sounds right when I use my whammy pedal. And the ****noise**** is just him playing all of the strings open with the whammy pedal set two octaves up.

I have no idea, but I made it my Youtube handle because it's fucking awesome. Dachau is actually a city that had the first concentration camp. All other concentration camps were modeled after the one at Dachau.  As far as "Dark now in Dachau," I'm sure it's in reference to the Jews living there...living another day in hell. When it's dark, the day's over. Only, you know your going to wake up to the same shit the next day.

You know I just thought of this... in the concentration camps when the Germans would put the jews in the gas chambers they would turn the lights out right before they gased them. Maybe that is why the line is..."It's dark now in Dachau and I'm screamin from within."
