  • damn what a rythm

  • Niggers..................................

  • What's all of this reference to 'sampling'? Do the so-called aritists of today have any talent and originality so they don't have to go back 40 years for ideas and inspiration in order to be 'successful'?

  • @hafstepper Lol. Sampling happened within soul music too bro. They may not have had the advanced hardware/software but there sure as hell were some instrumentalists recreating and slightly altering others pieces. Put your pride aside and accept that theres a part of the younger generation that might not have gotten to appreciate good music like this, If It were not for sampling.

  • i didntknow many hip hop artists sampled this since i dont listen to rap music....but im glad they were inspired by a true music legend like Sly Stone

  • Sandra Dee Lawson.

  • 2:11 Hip-hop beat

  • It's unfortunate that the best part of the song, which is the awesome drum solo, cannot be heard in this recording. I'll keep searching 'til I find one that has it.

  • Favorite song from their greatest hits LP along with I Want To Take You Higher.

  • Sly Stone... At his best...Nuttin but Funk!!!!!

  • @ZealotMilitiaEnt Yes. There are some limited minds on You Tube and elsewhere. Thankfully, this does not stop anyone from enjoying the talent.

  • Thumbs up if you are here because of the insane tune with the insane intro!

  • @trademark1874 that intro is live! :)

  • Classic jam, sampled by many 80's rap groups. The vocals are by Sly, Rose, Freddie Stone, and Larry Graham....Cindy Robinson as well... I think this jam came off their Everyday People album...not for sure on that tho. Still standing the test of time. Today's music doesn't hold up more than 2 months with these fonky lil beats... One of the best groups that can still mix funk/rock/jazz today is Fishbone!! They are a Mega talented group who started in the late 70's. Something like 1979 ?

  • @Spaniggles Sampled from 80s 90s 00s hip hop groups, everyday people is song from the album Stand, which is where this song is from, and Sly started in mid to late 60s, this songs from 69

  • how the hell did they chop the drums out of the little fragment without the extra instruments in it

  • Marley Marl used The Meters' version for 3rd Bass' remix of "Product Of The Environment"...both drums R bananas...but of course the original is the original!!!

  • @KIDAmnesiacBends its a rap song , it has the first feature appearance of Snoop Dog. It was also Dr. Dreys first appearance after the breakup up of NWA. I like a lot of different music, I dont car what someone likes, as long as they dont get mad over what I like.

  • Great great great great - this song has it all. Truly remarkable.

  • The epitone of FUNK is located at 3:39 when Larry plays half the bass line, stops, then continues. I play that part over, and over, and over again. The drums by Greg Errico on this track are slammin! ...And Larry Graham is the man. Check it out, and feel true FUNK!

  • Humpty Dance/Digital Underground...Marley Marl used anotha version for 3rd Bass' "Product Of The Environment" (Remix)--I think it was Allen Toussaint, or Oliphant dude...somebody!!!
