Whoa easy there young fella,I still haven't finished learning your "banks of the deep end". Every time I try working on that you throw out another great song I want to learn-your killing me!
@guitarplayer6852 Jimmy is sometimes sloppy live, but when I heard his playing on "How the West Was Won" I was electrified again. He's on fire on some of those songs. In fact, the whole band is.
I'm not familiar with Cubase. I use the freeware program Audacity, but there is no latency with the UX2 when used with Audacity (I suspect the same would be true with Cubase as well).
Yes, the Tone Port (now called the POD Studio) is essentially an external sound card that plugs into your computer via USB. So, I plug my guitar into the Tone Port and hear everything through monitor speakers (which I have coming out of the "outs" of the Tone Port).
Thanks. I just use the regular Plexi amp model. There is also a "Plexi Jump" model that has more gain, but I prefer the basic Plexi. (Remember, the software that I use is Gear Box, which came with the 2008 Tone Ports. You could always buy a Tone Port GX on eBay for around 50 bucks or less).
Man...this knocks me out. Fantastic dude...what's the guitar? Obviously a Lester...but what? Historic? Pickups? All the amp parts are digital?....You're real good friend. Do you have any stuff that you're improvising?
Haha, thanks a lot, Dan. Been watching your videos for quite some time now. That's a 2007 R8 VOS. Pickups are the stock Burstbuckers (1 & 2), and yea, the tone is all digital (for $150 bucks, the Line 6 Tone Port, now called the POD Studio, is not a bad device; and they make less expensive ones). The Tone Port is like Line 6's version of Guitar Rig or Amplitube. I've got it on a Marshall Plexi setting, no pedals (real or virtual).
The quality of your playing, and video quality is just great. I always enjoy watching anything you've played, and am always inspired to pick up my guitar to learn more. Cheers
Fantastic playing. You nailed a lot of the more subtle Page licks in there. I wish that I could play the tune like that.

any latency when recording through something like cubase?
can you use this as a sound card for ur computer, so run the sound from you computer to the ux2 to your monitors / speakers ?
5 starts btw

This sounds great man.
Seeing this and watching some demo's makes me want to get this pod.
I'm curious though, which plexi head did you use and do you have the platinum version of pod farm?

Do you use also the standard cabinet w/ the plexi?
lollorocks 2 years ago
Yes, I use the 4 x 12 cabinet with Greenbacks (that is the default option for the Plexi on the Gear Box software).

The second solo is pretty much the same as Jimmy's, but the first solo has the general framework borrowed but parts improvised.
Btw, right now I'm going through the first Blues You Can Use book. Man....should have done this years ago!!

(A while back, I saw some of the pics of your R9 that you posted on one of the forums, and man, that thing is beautiful).
tehorix789 2 years ago
Yeah, I love my R9!!! It's got PAF's in it though...so, I don't think I'd trade you straight up on that one ; ^ )
You oughta sign up at The Les Paul Forum!!! It's a great site about Les Pauls and everything Gibson!!
