hmmm.. this is the third "ulalume" speech choir performance posted. I guess more and more schools are out to prove who's the best, huh. I'm enjoying the show. But I'll reserve my personal judgement until I see at least 5 of the performing schools. Judging from the stage and setting, I guess NCC, Lorma and DWCL joined the same contest, where NCC was declared "champion".

How many joined this contest, by the way?

of the three performances posted so far, this one provides the most correct character delineation and portrayal -- 1) the male persona of the poem, 2) the personified soul (Psyche), and 3) the ghouls of the river Auber in the woodland of Weir.

More emotionally-charged than the other two. Caveat: You DWCL people could have kept the moaning and groaning at a minimum, but I guess that's part of your style.

15 schools joined..it was held in La Union Capitol. hey..lOrma speech choir members are all 2nd years NURSING!...while our competitors are with english courses of higher years...what do you expct..

The coach/ trainer of a speech choir, not its members, is ultimately responsible for what is presented onstage. The choir only performs what the coach has directed them to do. Wasn't your coach an English teacher? Or maybe someone who has a working knowledge of literary criticism? If not, maybe next year, you'd be wiser to choose one as your coach. And to the organizers,your judges should have a background on literary criticism in general, and of the literary piece in particular.
