The lead singer's name is Russell. I'm sorry but I have forgotten last name. He was my "den father" (supervisor) at YMCA Summer Camp long ago in the 60's in Newton, NJ. He said he was from Newark (NJ). He was a REALLY strong, muscular (but not muscle-bound) guy. He could take on anyone at the camp, but he was not a bully. Russell had a portable record player in the den; & this, his own record he would sing along to, in IDENTICAL EXACT same lead vocal sound on this record.
One of my all time favs - pure gold. Never could understand why it never went really big. Beautiful voices and harmonies, singing of the lead is peerless. Thanks for posting. Not your standard three chord progression of most doo wop and similar lyrics that make a lot of it highly derivative.
