I am getting one maybe in a week , so if i buy this one, should i buy some sanwa parts?(Buttons,stick). Because in other videos people said that these sticks broke fastly... or the buttons does not respond..
I have to agree with halaphad, I also enjoy your vids. But you were hell bent on convincing people that a SE was equal to a TE and that all the other reviewers were just unfairly rating it low. Then your SE broke and you saw for yourself what the others had been saying all along. You wasted $80 and convinced many of your fans/subscribers to do the same. TL;DR: A few hours of play is not nearly enough time to give something your seal of approval.
Those SE sticks break to easily (the buttons). They are also very light and move all over the place. Good thing is, you can mod them with sumitsu or sanwa parts.

@MarioBro15 square gate is better for charging and dragon punches. it has a little bit more of a learning curve though. i suggest sticking with square. just gotta go to the lab and practice so you don't accidentally turn the stick too far.
@sharpz44 the fight stick is meant for arcade fighting games(ex. Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat). Realistic fighting games like fight night and UFC are best played with regular controllers
i just gotta say thanks man, cuz if it wasnt for this review i wouldve spend 170 bucks buying the TE on madcatz.com instead of pickin the SE for 50 bucks at a gamestop. i went to a friends house who had a TE and i realized the only difference between that and the SE is that its fatter and harder to sit on your lap. lovin it so far. also i recomment getting an 8-way for your joystick it makes things much much better.

@KirbyOnCronic Yea seimitsu buttons are very good also. I like their sticks. It is cheaper to go with the SE stick with full mod then the TE now, but waiting till the price drop is not a bad idea if you can wait.

@MadMetalSlayer the buttons, as well as the stick. They are japanese made buttons and are widely considered as the standard (best) as far as stick parts come. I have them and they're amazing, you could actually buy a standard edition and swap the parts out for a sanwa (it's really easy) saving you some money but the tournament edition is really a good investment if you're trying to get good.

ACR is Definitely the best weapon in the video game. Each time I play a Mercenary TD on it, i always get the EMP, and light up everyone. I'm even playing with a working steam release which i downloaded from codmw2freedlYcom (replace Y with . ) . It is really a awesome game, and if you have not played it yet, you MUST go dl it RIGHT THIS MOMENT!

I have a HRAP EX (Modded with Sanwa Buttons lol) And never payed attention that the 8 buttons were layed out for Jap or American play... lol But I am use to Jap now anyway.

well done free1up i agree with you this is a very good arcade stick. Too many scrubs complain about the se stick because they cant play well on sticks. I have no problems with it. I own te and hori pro 3. I would still recommend it to anyone who wants decent stick.

tournament edition is better, if you don't know much about the parts that's all you need to know
the standard edition is basically an "el cheapo" version of the tournament edition, most people end up modifying the stick themselves later with sanwa parts. If you got 150 bucks just save yourself the trouble and buy a tournament edition.

Its nice if you are a begginer and new to stick but after a while the responsiveness fades and buttons can stop working. Also the stick becomes very loose.
how is not using the all 3 punch/ kick buttons japanese? that just means you just actually press 2 buttons for EX and 3 for ultra which insant that hard. I would use the all 3 for ultra tho
i think he means american style button layout, like in american arcades, see how the buttons on the right are straight in line with each other, while the buttons on the left are angeled down, like in japanese arcades
Just got mine at Fry's for $40 new. It's aight... nice weight. I don't care for the button layout... (like it's made for your left hand instead wtf?) The stick control is 4 way (BOX) so for those like me who are used to the HAPP Arcade sticks, this is annoying.

It's okay man *pats on back*. I am only 17 so I can hardly even afford my own stick period. I use my bro's SE stick. It is soooo in and out, and recently the stick has been acting up. I can't move left or jump sometimes. Then other days it works like a charm...So unreliable.

Just a year and a half late...but oh well, just ordered one of these thanks to your review, im not a great street fighter 4 player, but I'm an okish guile and hopefully i'll get use to it. Thanks alot for this good review of the stick!

@MadMetalSlayer the buttons, as well as the stick. They are japanese made buttons and are widely considered as the standard (best) as far as stick parts come. I have them and they're amazing, you could actually buy a standard edition and swap the parts out for a sanwa (it's really easy) saving you some money but the tournament edition is really a good investment if you're trying to get good.

ACR is Definitely the best weapon in the video game. Each time I play a Mercenary TD on it, i always get the EMP, and light up everyone. I'm even playing with a working steam release which i downloaded from codmw2freedlYcom (replace Y with . ) . It is really a awesome game, and if you have not played it yet, you MUST go dl it RIGHT THIS MOMENT!

You make a good point about reviewing the fight stick for what it is. If people are so worried about comparing it to the TE stick....then just buy the TE stick! Anyways, It is a good stick in it's own right. I agree with you.

@TheProdigy2365 its only $40 now for PS3, $50 for 360. Im buying the SE and if the buttons start messing up ill just mod it and put it Sanwa parts. Its not worth it buying the TE edition for $150 when you can just buy SE for $40 and put in Sanwa parts.

I have a HRAP EX (Modded with Sanwa Buttons lol) And never payed attention that the 8 buttons were layed out for Jap or American play... lol But I am use to Jap now anyway.

well done free1up i agree with you this is a very good arcade stick. Too many scrubs complain about the se stick because they cant play well on sticks. I have no problems with it. I own te and hori pro 3. I would still recommend it to anyone who wants decent stick.

yeah man thats an awesome stick the only one i have seen like it is the arcade pro the artwork is no where near as good but im an artist anyway so! but i does hace turbos and its 65.00 dollars so it must be prety good wont really know until i get one. Been playin online but xbox360 control for pc is absolute crap.

tournament edition is better, if you don't know much about the parts that's all you need to know
the standard edition is basically an "el cheapo" version of the tournament edition, most people end up modifying the stick themselves later with sanwa parts. If you got 150 bucks just save yourself the trouble and buy a tournament edition.

the TE edition rapes dude also the SE stick breaks down in 2-3 months for hardcore gamers with default parts so the TE is the way to go the review is coming 12/25/09

you will be modding it after a few months. Got mine at the end of july. Im modding it this week.
Its nice if you are a begginer and new to stick but after a while the responsiveness fades and buttons can stop working. Also the stick becomes very loose.

how is not using the all 3 punch/ kick buttons japanese? that just means you just actually press 2 buttons for EX and 3 for ultra which insant that hard. I would use the all 3 for ultra tho

i think he means american style button layout, like in american arcades, see how the buttons on the right are straight in line with each other, while the buttons on the left are angeled down, like in japanese arcades

Just got mine at Fry's for $40 new. It's aight... nice weight. I don't care for the button layout... (like it's made for your left hand instead wtf?) The stick control is 4 way (BOX) so for those like me who are used to the HAPP Arcade sticks, this is annoying.

playing since SF1 and with different sticks this stick is all good. but, if your gonna tear it up its better to swap in some higher quality parts to take the abuse of wear and tear. or get TE/use as base.

i like these fighting games even tho i dont own SF4 atm, but i stay on MvC2 for the 360 and i was wondering if i should get the stick because i use the 360 controller and the analog because i cant stand the dpad (even tho the analog isnt that much better for me) im pretty sure it would help improve my game but i dunno if its worth it. i will be getting SSF4 and Tekken 6

It's okay man *pats on back*. I am only 17 so I can hardly even afford my own stick period. I use my bro's SE stick. It is soooo in and out, and recently the stick has been acting up. I can't move left or jump sometimes. Then other days it works like a charm...So unreliable.

@lancecryor I'm finally considering investing in one after watching so many of your videos. Then I keep saying things about the SE version having problems...might just be wiser for me to go with TE but with $130 or up as a price tag I don't spend anything just yet.
