personally i think its 2 expensive i mean you get better notebooks 200 € cheaper from acer but with definately better hardware (acer aspire 7745g around 600 € in germany) but i really like snow leopard software its definitly better then windows 7...so when apple brings out a laptop arround 600 € with same hardware as the 7745g i would buy it immediatly...

@bluesclaudio056 the macbook in this video is the cheapest and the one with the lowest specs. if u only run instant messenger clients and office, this macbook will be fine. You don't need a macbook with an i5 to run those programs.

its a pretty good computer but I think the price is a bit off. Oh and they do have a new macbook with a 2.26ghz and stuff :P I think I will save up on lockerz for it but that is the only reason I would want one. Its the cheapest computer on lockerz and I really need a new computer I will probably install windows on it to dualboot though.

No Apple did come out with a newer white MacBook. The 2.26 MacBook with a multitouch trackpad. It's just like the 13" MBP with the same specs only not aluminum and of course without the backlit keyboard.

well for one..it doesn't stay white! it turns yellow after but 2 months and thats with SUPER precaution! and it also doesn't have the backlight keyboard BUT i HAVE changed my mind as recently i discovered how easy it is to Re-paint MacBook white to something unique!

No, on the new white unibody there is no baclight keyboard but it doesnt matter coz its just as gd as the 13 inch macbook pro 2.26ghz coz it has the same specs and a bigger hard drive, u dnt get firewire and an sd card slot but that doesnt really matter unless u need it, i cant wait 2 start using the white unibody i ordeed at christmas!!!

I'm considering buying this, but I really wish that they still came in black. Not only is it cool, but it doesn't show dirt as well. Also the lack of an SD card slot is discouraging. Seems like kind of a ploy to get everyone using the new MacBook Pro instead. =/

Well . . . I guess it must be working. Because Now I'm kind of considering spending the extra $200 on the unibody MBP. This would be my first Mac; I just wish they weren't so hard on the wallet. I expect great things from it, though.

new ones just came out the other day. Go to apple store, they are better and come with 7hr battery and LED screen for $999. No reason to get a pro anymore. I just traded my mine in, luckily it has been only a couple weeks for me, so i was able to score one. They are nice!

The screen looks the same as the pro as they are both led screens now. i havent noticeed this thing getting as hot as the last one. maybe have to give it more time. all laptops are gonna get hot though. this one is lighter, thinner and more rounded than the last. i also like that they made the whole inside case where the keys and pad are glossy white and not that dull looking white gray color. it wont get dirty anymore!

Also the battery life seems is longer and takes less to charge than the previous one. its pretty much which body style you prefer really. do you like the aluminum looking case of the pro or the glossy white of the macbook? everything under the hood now is the same, processing power and memory. the macbook does come with a bigger hard drive than the pro. i am comparing both 13in versions. i personally prefer the look of the white over the pro. it just looks sleeker and less like a pc laptop!

i would go with the new white one. its cheaper and exactly the same features as the pro. even has a bigger hard drive. they both have the same specs. go to apples website and they have a comparison chart, so you can see for yourself. they even extended the battery life. i went with the white one because i preferred the casing and look better. the pro looks like every other laptop out there. get the white, it looks better. its all what you prefer though. you cant go wrong, its a mac!

I have a white macbook which I'm actually typing this with but I want to explain my experience. ->

My summer of 07 macbook can cook a egg on the bottom and thats what I really hat 180F on me. Since it gets so hot the case started to crack all along the vent, battery and palm pad area around the edges oh and the white gets pretty dirty after awhile.

I wouldn't buy another white one but instead choice the aluminum case just because of those reasons.

I have the new 13" white, and also a 15" pro from 2 years ago. The new white is faster and I prefer it over the pro. The pro gets hot to the touch, shocks me regularly (!), and gets dented and dirty easily. I prefer the 13" white for home use, although the larger screen is nice for serious work on the pro.

i hav this macbook...this is much better than the macbook pro, because the only difference for 200 dollars less is the shell. The white macbook has a hard polyurethane shell, while the pro uses an aluminum hard shell. WHITE MACBOOKS ARE CHEAPER AND BETTER!!! definately recomend this

Haha. I purchased this MacBook three days before the most recent keynote when they released the new MacBook Pro 13.3". I took my white one back to Apple, paid 200 more and upgraded to this more amazing computer. Don't get me wrong- the White MacBook is an AMAZING machine, but the aesthetics and power of the MacBook pro are definitely worth saving up $200 more for. You won't want to spend $999 on an outdated looking computer.
