"Nordic aliens, are said by contactees and UFOlogists to be a group of humanoid extraterrestrials who resemble European racial images, or more specifically Nordic-Scandinavians, characteristically 1.8 to 2.4 meters with white (pink) skin, blue eyes, light blond or white hair, and commonly reported as being male".
three in one: an amazing player, a brilliant composer and a striking "on stage" image, for that reason he is a legend among the keyboard players of all time.
Richard Christopher Wakeman A.K.A. Rick Wakeman was born 18 may,1949 in Perivale London U.K. is an English Keyboard player, composer and songwriter. He is known for being the keyboardist for progressive rock band YES. This song " Catherine Parr including in his debut and one of his best "Six Wives Of Henry VIII" from 1973. This show is from 1993.
@EragonFiresword It's just what Rick came up with in the late 1980s to develop Catherine Parr further. He did it earlier in An Evening of Yes Music Plus 1989.
KIDDING of course! But I think that his speed sometimes... I mean, his music is so beautiful, but maybe some of it's nuances can be missed if you focus too much on this incredible speed...
this is from the live on ITV 1991...course i have whole show ...never saw rick live though...but hes put out more solo albums then he did with yes ...this particular one on here is just unbelieveable ..i love the drumming and bass line as well ...camera close-ups ....my only question is .....where does a guy like this go get taught ....whos his teacher lol
i have always been a Emerson fan and have only heard Wakeman trough Yes, but i have to say he's own things is amazing! this is beyond words!!! would it not be legendary if Wakeman and Emerson did something together?
It's all Catharina Parr, just the solo ( 2:20 - 4:10) an extra... a 'desert' for fans. The whole version is simply perfect. Rick at his freaking best!
You've all got the chance to see him now. In London performing all of Henry VIII for the first time. With band, orchestra and choir. Can't wait for May 1.
The Six Wives of Henry VIII. Don't know about this video but the album was released in 1972.
Over the years many critics regarded it as 'controversial'. To me, it's one of the best albums of all freaking time...
To me, Wakeman and Emerson are two brilliant musiacians who, like nobody else, mixed rock with classic music. Sadly, like many other great musicians, if not YouTube, they'll be forgotten.
If you've never seen Wakeman in concert he's amazing! I had front row seats for Yes in 1982 in Boston and I consider it one of the high points of my life.
You're one of the 'lucky ones', plushbabs... I mean, in Poland, back than, we were happy to get Locomotive GT (a Hungarian band, act. quite good). To me, Wakeman and Emerson are 'the MEN"! The latter did a great job of 'advirtizing' classical music', and Rick... He CREATED so much great stuff that should be put on the same shelf as the best classical composers... Prog rock is just so... 'underestimated' would be an understatement.
Act. the word I was looking for was popularizing, talking about Keith Emerson.
Oh, I love the way he abuses his poor keyboard Stabbing with a knife! Yeaaaah! LOL. Once you get to like it, you'll never get tired of it, that's for sure.
DVD also with the same name, you could also get it in a other DVD called "The Anthology" wich include some clips from this concert, some classical piano pieces with slideshows of Roger Dean.

I support the theory that to be able to play in such speed, Rick Wakeman dominates the ZA WARUDO technique.
