I use bentonite clay to clean my hair too. I use half ACV, and aloe as my liquid components. I also don't like my mixture that thick b/c it gets HEAVY!! I do DT afterwards, however. I love how clean my hair feels post treatment. BTW, super flyy earrings!!

is bentonite similar to a henna treatment?

@rachelmm05 similar in that it is a power. however, it is not a herb. also it isn't as drying a henna can be. you can get away with no deep conditioner after bentonite, not so with henna. henna is a hair reconstructor, bentonite clay is more of a cleanser/conditioner. it also won't change your color like henna. in general, bentonite is easier and faster to apply than henna. is still like henna though :)

@bolinga27 nope. my hair was fine. i may do a dc next time but really it isn't necessary. adding oil to the hair before application may be all i need to do.

I use bentonite clay mixed with white clay and AC vinegar every 3 months on my hair and I love it!

@ericamorrisboston81 i've seen folks do this once a month with no problem. for the clay...aside from whole foods you may this a the vitamin shoppe and places like that. of course online.

@ericamorrisboston81 Some people use it as an alternative to shampoo, so every wash day. It purifies the scalp and hair without stripping it of it's moisture, so it's a safe alternative. Also, bentonite clay is one of the main ingredients of Terresential's Mud Wash which people use in place of shampoo.

I love bentonite clay! I use the Terressentials Mudwash instead of pure bentonite clay though. Anyways, great video & you have beautiful hair :)

@moniloveee arrgh!!! why did you mention the mud wash? i've been tempted for weeks to get that. LOL. that's what prompted me to try the bentonite clay that i already owned on my hair. now that i like it, i know my hair and bentonite agree. i think imma have to investigate that left coast lemon and lavender. LOL.

The more you do it the better your hair gets and it lessens your need for a dc. I like Rhassoul Claybetter..

@pinkrosesfly awww thanks. my hair always looks crazy with wash and go b/c of the different textures. the 4b hair becomes a fro and 4a hair frizzes up. it looks confused LOL. I think i'll try in late spring when it's not too humid. definitely will share that with y'all.

Great vid! I've been doing the bentonite clay for 2 years since being natural and never deep conditioned after. After my first bentonite, I had deep conditioned and my hair didn't feel the same. So I just don't anymore. I asked a lady at an indian store and she told me that she doesn't deep condition either, because the bentonite cleans and conditions the hair.

Your hair did look awesome. So I hope mines will work out too. Do you think if you dc that your hair would shrink back to its normal state? Your didn't seem to need a dc after putting on the clay.

I LOVE Bentonite Clay and it is part of my monthly regimen. I had the same results as you did. I only use apple cider vinegar in my mix and afterward my hair feels INCREDIBLY soft and clean afterward (I add nothing else). I no longer use Henna because it is so drying to my hair. The clay is awesome. Glad you liked it and thanks for the video.
