  • airport name?

  • Was anyone else unafraid until she said "don't be afraid"?

  • looks fine to me. just a crab into the wind. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one

  • hahahahaha.....

  • its a natural landing

  • My kind of fly boy!

  • Comment removed

  • Right on the NUMBERS!!! goood job Captain.

  • @Drpepperman1885 Inbetween the numbers and the first marks, that is where you have to land.

  • reminds me of coming into san diego

  • @mrjubble 60 foot tire??? Did you take you rmedicine today, boy???

  • Toncontin International in honduras

  • Oreoplane.

  • St. Marteen has a much kick ass landing than this...Even a person like me who has no idea abt "aeroplanes" can land Boeing here ! WTF......

  • @smartdon007 Obviously you have NFI about how hard it is to land a 757 at this airport....So why don't you just shut your trap and show some respect. St Maarten is easy with no terrain on one side of the airport and it is way longer at 7054ft and elevation of 13ft compared to Toncontin at 6132ft and an elevation of 3297ft...You do the math!

  • @theautothrottle it's all true, but I can still land here...St. Marteen, I would have to approach from the other side !

  • @smartdon007 You Would have to go over the hill!

  • I am still waiting for the dangerous part......

  • he landed just before the threshold..!!!

  • Your spelling is dangerous.

  • Toncontin International??

  • I suppose if you fly into that airport every day it is not as fucked up as it looks.

But even in Daylight and Dry Conditions is still sucks.

I can't even begin to imagine trying to put a 757 into that thing in Rain, Wind and/or Lousy Visibility.

I also suppose that is why I am not a Commercial Pilot.

  • Pilot:did we hit a tree yet?

    Co-Pilot:nope not yet.

    *terrain to low- 10...5*

Pilot:ohh cool its a talking airplane.

    *BOOM*

    Pilot:was that our landing gear?

  • Looked pretty safe to me. Standard crosswind landing...

  • I wouldn't want to do that IMC

  • Lol description "Landing of the areoplane" Haha. Yeah crazy approach but it's done all the time now so there use to it I assume.

  • OMG he touched down like 5 ft in front of the threshold!

  • Perfect!

  • That's not dangerous, it's a normal landing at Toncontin Airport! Nice video though

  • Now that... Is a landing! Good video.

  • Damn, very good pilot. It´s normal, but it looks very good.

  • this is Normal on this Airport

  • for some reason i want to see an A340-600 land there

  • @drummerboy5192 LOL U CRAZY?

  • if i could be the president of that country my first order will be that close that airport and ,make other airport in another place , or , make another more safe runway with that runway the passangers lifes is in danger

  • Stealing someone elses video an uploading it as your own, good job!

Further more, changing "skilled" to "dangerous", god you must be so proud of yourself, well done!

  • That checkerboard going across the begining of the runway was probably the do or die touch down target.

  • this video is 1000 times on youtube!

  • Oreoplane??

  • AA pilots with the balls of steal!!! ;DD

  • This is not a dangerous landing. This is a NICE landing!!

Iin Toncontin all landing are like this!!!

I want to know who is the GENIUS that placed an airport in this place!!!!!!!

I think that more bad place is just the top of the Everest!!!!!

  • Awesome pilot. This runway is a little over 6000 feet long. For a B-757, that is as close to minimums you can go, and then add on this ridiculous approach over high terrain on short final................Sick!!!

  • @lousydoma Try Skiathos airport in Greece, 5000ft runway and frequented by a320s, 737s and 757s.

  • Wow, someone would hit someones head on gears!! :D LoL

  • awesome pilot :) i loved that :)

  • that crap is fun i was in a ac-130 bout 2 years ago when that happened to us quite fun i say

  • an a130? yeah...right. what were you doing on the ac130? playing mw2?

  • @SpartanW98 its called rotc airforce get into and you can do that stuff that most people cant do its really fun

  • @SpartanW98 cool i rather fly though and yes im 46 it maybe slow but its badass

  • @SpartanW98 was the c-17 a globemaster1 or 2

  • so they let you fly in a gunship? i know they let you fly in a C-130 but not a AC-130

im civil air patrol and we rode on a C17 it was cool

  • i dont remember, it was 3 years ago.

  • I agree with you, but I am 100% sure their goverment will wait till there is a plane crash to close it down.

  • Yeah well it is in South America.

  • Now add a crosswind and BOOM crash. lol na i know there have that planned already. i can only imagen the best fly there.

  • It looks even more dangerous than St Marteen!

  • st maarten isnt dangerous...

  • try kai tak

  • But this is most prob most harder than kay tak mate... Kay take your always on the decent and then you turn to the runway but this one you do the turn then go down then up then down again LOL sooo it can be a much harder app if not trained but i know where your coming from ''Kay tak''is bluddy hard espicialy in winds LOL

  • @CrazyDoug17 or u can try saba

  • Yeah SABA is quite a hard app...LOL...But thats with small planes:D...Now if your talking about planes like boeings 737's and Airbuses then you might want to try ''Madeira'' in heavy winds... Its like almost near impossible...If you see some of the approaches their their crazy, saw one the other day, this guy did at least 3 go arounds LOL

  • an awesome pilot!!

  • Dont be AFRAID...... I WOULD BE SHITTING MYSELF

  • Mountainous terrain, short runway, It IS a comparatively 'dangerous' approach/landing in the sense that the margins for error are far slimmer than at most other airports. How it is flown is a different issue altogether - this one is spectacular.

  • Yeah, and you should experience it from inside the airplane (I have), it seems like you're gonna land in all those tiny houses and then wham, the airport just pops up in the blink of an eye. It's like experiencing an ALMOST plane crash :P

  • Thats a good landing for this airport. If you wanna see a shitty landing watch toncontin feb 2009 risky landing

  • WTF is an AREOPLANE?

  • Perhaps he meant Oreo plane

  • itsa aerodynamic airplane haha.

  • damnit, i was gonna say that

  • @Aikenmort it's another way to say airplane

  • @Aikenmort He meant Aeroplane, A.K.A. airplane you fucking genius.

  • @Aikenmort Its a nerdy way of saying airplane.

  • @Aikenmort its that new mix of airplane and Oreos lol

  • @Aikenmort That's what every other culture calls an airplane

  • @Aikenmort idk

  • @Aikenmort in honduras.....the word "plane" you spell it "aeroplano"...its jut that this dude doesnt know how to write "airplane"..."aereo" is somwhow like sayin "air"

  • @Aikenmort "Aeroplane" is the correct English spelling (UK, Australia, Canada etc.), whereas in the United States, you guys spell it "Airplane". Both acceptable.

  • @Aikenmort "A fixed-wing aircraft, typically called an aeroplane, airplane or simply plane, is an aircraft capable of flight using forward motion that generates lift" Wiki

  • @Aikenmort french

  • @Aikenmort The areoplane is clearly a typo. But It seems you are too stupid to know that, aren't you????

  • Excelent landing ,is not dangerous at all!!!!Great pilots

  • @armando208b i know right!

  • @armando208b it was the crosswinds a the ennd i guess

  • @HARTPOINTER1 Yeah for sure it was, good pilot inputs nice crab technique, great landing!!! :)

  • @armando208b if you think this is not dangerous you should never be a pilot, of course its dangerous, flying over the mountain with 400 km/h one wind shear and you're all dead. but you are right when you see these are some great pilots.

  • 0:25

  • Ahhhh lovely toncontin, the second best spotting paradise since St. Maarteen, check toncontin pics

  • Ahh, yes very bad landing... Prior to the aimpoint.

But I like the vid and the airport, so 5*^^

  • It´s good landing.

  • it was a fucking good landing. for a windy day and that approach, hats off to the captain.

  • This is a VERY GREAT landing! it is very hard to land there!

  • what kind of airport is that?!

  • tegucigalpa honduras

  • Not a dangerous landing, but, a dangerous airport. great landing by the way. 5*****

  • Totally agree, this landing is normal in this airport... good pilot outta there!

  • its not dangerous.

  • i kno ryt

  • What airport is that?

  • Toncontin, Honduras

  • omg :S how can u land on such a short runway.

  • Thank u, at :41 u can see some the smoke from tires being "sucks" by the wind turbulence to out of the tip of the wings. And the sound that it makes when it land , " woushhhh ! " Love that vid : )

  • not for the 757. It performs very well in hot/high places, as well as on short airfields.

  • omg the runway in short !!!

  • Its Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I live nearby and everytime an airplane is going to land I pray for it to land in the strip not outside!!!!!

  • Where is this airport?

  • I always like to see that vid, it so well controlled. He touched early to give him some space and time reaction to abort landing. Planning one shot ahead : )

  • Excellent Pilot !!! What an APPROACH !!! This runway seems dangerous for birds also ... hehe !

  • This is one of the dangerous airports in the world.

  • Not really, even if the landing was a complete screw up they are 99% safe.. :|
