@delfartel yep. Its a jdm h22a. I was surprised as well. My buddy has the same swap in a 4th gen with the same mods and his best run is a 15 flat, however hes running the p13. I don't understand it fully myself.
@delfartel I had tires with about 1000 miles on them (general UHP). I think another thing that helped is the 8k fuel cut on my ecu. 1st to 2nd usually bogs a little if you shift too early. I did cut a 2.25 60' time so yeah the tires helped a lot
@tommyistommy Thats crazy, I still can't picture a stock prelude with exhaust and intake running a 14.6, With an exceptional driver 15.5, low 15's with sticky tires, cause doing exhaust on a factory prelude barely helps it, it's not making enough power and burning enough fuel that back pressure would be an issue, as for intake of course that would help vtec exponentially, but a better time then a low 15 is hard to fathom, my friends s2000 runs low 15's, my buddys 5.0 mustang with bolt ons
@delfartel 15.5? That's what a SH 5th gen runs (heaviest, least hp, worst gearing of any vtec ludes). I have a JDM H22A so it has slightly higher compression, and a dual spring valve setup (usdm has 1). What elevation are you at? all those numbers are really slow. 15's in a s2k is terrible. Those 5.0 mustangs respond to bolt on's much better than a H-series honda (the H22 doesn't really respond to bolt on's at all). I beat my friends 94 5.0 stang every time once I get into 3rd its over.
@tommyistommy Relatively low elevation, no air pressure problem, and how much do the 5th Gen preludes weigh? 2900 pounds? They may not be that quick in a straight line but they handle fairly well and thats what they were made for, and the 94 5.0's only made some 205hp or so, and they are heavier then a prelude, so I could definitely see you raping him all day, I raced a 2005 mustang GT in my friends prelude, and he couldn't pull on me, i'm not sure if he was really racing though, cause that
@tommyistommy Really surprised me, but I can drive lol and I can see a H22A in a 4th gen prelude with intake running mid 14's with good tires and a good driver.
@delfartel a 5th gen is about a hundred lbs heavier (3000lbs-3100 if its the sh). It has longer gearing too. I love my lude but I don't think he was racing lol
@delfartel but thats the worst year of the 5.0 and he just has exhaust. Some h22's just are freaks, I guess mine is one of them. Want to see another one? Search for motor week prelude. They ran a 14.6 in a stock USDM 4th gen That makes no sense. ran a 14.6 in an american one bone stock.
15.2 is about right, it would need more then intake and exhaust to do 14.5s

@delfartel depends on the car. I have intake, exhaust, and a basemapped (not tuned) p28 and I ran a 14.6

@tommyistommy Wow thats crazy, maybe different tires? Better tractions, cause 14.6 is a damn fast time for a N/A prelude

@tommyistommy but a shitty rear end only does a 14.5 traction is also an issue but it pulls hard, alot harder then any of my friends h22 preludes,
