  • I for one actually love these people on the music channels, nothing better than being pissed off your face with a bunch of mates watching 'signed by the box' at like 2am. it's amusing they get into the groove :)

  • The is a lot of "point" because they are making the link between hearing and deaf people closer. Some people cannot hear, therefore they have to learn to communicate via their hands. Because they cannot hear, they can't learn to speak so they use their hands. What is funny about French, Spanish or German? NOTHING! Why is this automatically funny because it isn't an oral language? You have not got any respect for sign language of any form or the deaf community!

  • I find the dancin funny ha ha!

  • She isn't dancing, she is moving to the music to make the beat and the tempo of the music clear to deaf people. It isn't remotely funny.

  • ah fuck off spoil sport.

  • I am deaf I find it so embarrassed she is no experience in music & songs in sign language she is so stupid

  • I know she isn't a very good signer however do you agree that sign language interpreters as a whole shouldn't be treated as they are?

By the way, this may sound a bit rich coming from a hearing level 3 person! :)

  • I know who she is but I know she is hopeless with signing songs in bsl but I've seen someone who is better than her

  • @podum77 I so agree with you, BIG time, speaking as a deaf guy, I find her signing to be diabolical!

  • holy shit i cant believe it

    rofl

  • I'm not even going to start on you!!!!!

  • is there an actual reason for the dancing though because im not meaning to be rude or offend but i just find the dancing funny but i dont know if its so like deaf people can see the beat :S

  • Yeah, when you talk or say anything, you also express with your body. When singing, you express with the beat of the music. Deaf people cannot hear the beat of the music, so, when signing music, usually one's body moves in rhythm to communicate that part of it.

  • Thank you! You are the only person that has commented saying something useful. Yes, she is moving like that for a reason. It is so deaf people can get the beat (as you said), and so that the deaf people watching can see the tempo. Thank you! :)

  • that's really cool. it must be a completly difforent experence.

  • i want to no wer all the little people av gone of my tv!!!!!! ur propa jokers

  • I saw this in england for some other songs on the BBC

  • Lol.... This women is still going..her rendition of a recent britney song is hilarious!! We came across it when we sat up late this weekend..very funny!!

  • im deaf, ma sista told me dat interpreters doesnt match music video cos of the interpreters outfit! outfit should b glamorous as like stars in video!

  • only prob though is that when watching them you can't really se the signs for your mind goes "SHINYYYYYYYYYYY" yeah i hate when my interpreter shiny stuff... but is is kinda funny....

  • I have never seen that done before!!

    Blimey that can't be easy...

  • I am Deaf and think it is kinda funny this white lady interprets rap(guessing). The reason it needs interpreting is because some deaf can hear music but can not understand the words. Also FYI interpreters are often NOT deaf. Theres too much to explain about deaf interpreters, to explain here.

  • I personally think it is wrong!! not that they are signing...that is great. The fact that the hearing impaired need to stay up til 3:30am in order to actually appreciate the service!! Am I being led to believe that all deaf people are nocturnal??

  • lol im not being tight no offence to the deaf shes prob good at what she does but shes sooo funny the way she dances and the guys the same and a question y does the woman get all the hard rap songs where the guy gets all the easy love songs which makes him look gay pmsl

  • Ok serious question, I asked this somewhere else and was branded worse than the devil by some over the top PC person. Could somebody explain why a music channel would require sign language? I'm not trying to be funny or taking the piss, I just really cannot get my head around a music channel been signed. I know you will see the lyrics of the song but without been able to get accross the music or the tone of the song does signing actually work for music channels? Thanks in advance.

  • its so we can see the music in the hands.

you can see movement and music how she signs.

  • Appreciate the explanation, thanks :)

  • also we Deaf can feel the bass and appreciate some rythym in music

  • I've been signing (and interpreting for deaf also) for 12 yrs. It shows confidence and character that she would put herself out there like that when it may not even be her type of music. Imagine some of you trying to interprete the mood of a country song- now that would be funny! We need more interpreters with that much enthusiasm abt. what they're doing. B/c you won't always e interpreting something you like or even that you agree with. Sry that's my 2 cents!

  • I agree with you i've been learning ASL for three years and this vid is not funny...who cares what they look like right, as long as the Deaf can understand...There was nothing hilarious about this video

  • lol! that lady is hilarious! totally the wrong match for the song... but at least she's getting into it! :D

  • I am not deaf but I am in the process of learning asl, I started about 3 months ago and my best friends are all deaf. I think that the interpreters that you guys say are the most hilarious ones or the ones that you guys make fun of... are probably the best ones because they do it with spirit. Sign language is an amazing way to communicate with the deaf and some ppl don't take them seriously. It really offends me, to see ppl treating them like shit. If u can't say anything nice... FUCK OFF!

  • hey i am in your same position, know people who are deaf, getting into the fluent stage of ASL, and i laughed. think about it this way, you walk into the club,[or somewhere, w/e] and this song is playing and you see that lady, just dancing away gettin her grove on to this. its hard not to laugh and at the same time be like "GO GIRL!!YYEAAHH!!" maybe you can understand? im not making fun of her but at the same time its such an unexpected sight that its hard not to giggle a little. :)

  • Yeah, your right, I was just really pissed off that day to start put with and then to see them act like that. But they weren't laughing in a you-go-girl!-kind-of-way. They said well what deaf person would want to watch this shit anyway. BITCHES!

  • I agree with you i've been learning ASL for three years and this vid is not funny...who cares what they look like right, as long as the Deaf can understand...There was nothing hilarious about this video

  • what channel is this, this is tight

  • whats the problem people? havnt u got anything better to do with your lives!?

  • I think something can be light hearted and funny without demeaning the person or the language and I found this video to be great in both respects.

  • There's nothing funny with what she's doing. She's interpreting a song... for the deaf. I really don't see what's funny with that.

  • Tbh its got nothing to do wiv the fact that she's interpreting it for the deaf... Its the way she does it!! Its hilarious!!=)

  • Lol, it still seems not... nice. =]

  • She a pretty well known Sign Lanaguage performer in the UK. She's using BSL (Bristish Sign Language. Her live performances are outstanding!

  • why people thinks they can be better than others?

  • lol... Love it!

  • That's cool, is there TV that does this continuously? I want to know, it would help me be able to understand more...

  • lol

  • OMG I LOVE HER.

    i laffed for ages.

  • i did the same thing on my mobile phone..she is too hard to resist...it's great.. she moves along with the music :D

  • The Men in Black sign language video is funny as .........

  • u no, she is only doing her best, give her a break. its the tv company who hired her, please!! lets pay tribute to the tv companies who are (at last) signing 4 people, we need to stick together people not diss our own people!!

  • she is good and its good to see songs signed now hope we see more ofve it thanks for bloging this hope we see more dorm

  • is that sign lang or dancing?????

  • hahahahaha....thats HILARIOUS!! wow...

  • Ok, I do know that different signs are used in different area's of the country. I did get most of it but I could have done a MUCH better job. LOL I wanna do it next time so people can bash the way I do it! LOL :P

  • Seems to be interpreted in another country's sign language.

Good effort. Anyone who attempts to interpret music is ok in my book. Get up there an try it. :)

I couldn't understand her either, but she looked like she was into it at least. :)

  • the interpreter sucked,, I had no clue what the broad said,,, and as Booshy1 sayd DON'T GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB LUV.

  • Both me and my friend are deaf and use sign and have no idea what the hell this lady is saying. Oh dear- don't give up the day job luv.

  • I Made a Video the Same

  • How do you do "booty" in sign language?

  • this is so funny i almost weeeed myself!

  • im in love with that woman.

  • cool

  • Rap is not the easiest type of music to interpert!! But Kudos for the effort

  • Maybe they think all deaf people are insomniacs? Anyway the interpreter is great, no idea if you put this up to mock sign lnaguage or not but this is very good interpreting
