That's different. Hyper grav covers a greater area and is a special move. That is one of the best things to do if you are in this kind of situation. Shockwave will hit him also, if you are right under him. Although I have seen Cable call an assist, to be a meat shield, and then AHVB, and have a shockwave go through him unaffected.
When Cable is doing viper beam or hyper viper beam he has full invincibility in his legs always. In this case, you can see that the invincibility went all the way up to even his shoulders. There has been times where I have sj lk to Rom cable when I am behind him and he is doing AHVB, and because I did lk as soon as I sj, it went through him completely. If what happened in this video were done 100 times, with the same timing, this result would happen every single time.
I always felt like cable's hitbox was weird on a whiffed viper beam, thanks for the vid.
