  • Power Rock

  • He was shufflin before it was popular

  • Shit I wish I had a car

  • good subtitles

  • heard this in a Budweiser commercial today....one of my all time favorite songs

  • If I had never played Vice City, I would be missing out on alot of good music at this point in my life

  • me encanta V ROCK la estacion radial gta vice city

  • I remember first hearing this on

    Gran Turismo 3.

  • I LOVE BRITAIN!

  • @charly9927 I love Britani too! jk

  • Great tune, but this song will not win any "Best Lyrics" awards.

  • @gleebergloben1 Right. It's the music here. Yet, Ian puts it out there on vocal which pulls it over the top. A classic.

  • Steven Tyler stole the moves from this dude... Killer tune!

  • @cannedheatrm They all stole from Jagger...

  • The 80's are so gay.

  • @pittlers You must be one retard to say that.

  • @pittlers fuck you gay, this song isn't gay and you are a fucking retard !

  • @pittlers Right, unlike all of the boy bands and wimp music that came after.....

  • @Friday131969 I am not defending them. Although, adults listen to this crap while boy bands are a tween thing. Just saying.

  • This is the ultimate driving fast song

  • God, those were the days of rock.

  • Still excellent!

  • gta vice city anyone?

  • At -2:56 when Ian has that look on his face like he just had a small music orgasm , musigasm? Damn, I love, I just have one with him every time I watch this!

  • Dave mirra. FUCK. YEA.

  • Dave Mirra

  • Love this band, so soothing. All of their albums are good.

  • Man, you all need to get over yourselves. I posted the right comment, but on the wrong video. Don't ask me how that happened. But anyone who wants to completely diss the 80s--the decade that brought us Guns and Roses, Metallica, The Cult, Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Scratch Acid, Dead Kennedys, Violent Femmes, just to name a few bands whose music is still relevant--doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. Quick: Name 10 classic albums produced by musicians whose career began after 2000.

  • I could eat "baby" Ian alive ... Love this song too!

  • U can play dis song at guitar hero aerosmith

  • Now I know how jack sparrow would be if he was in a band......Love this song.

  • Great song and a classic 80's video. This guy made Pirate/lush look good long before Jonny Depp!

  • gran turismo anybody?

    nice song to cruise to

  • @SPFrobber hell yeah nigga!

  • The 80's is the gayest decade ever. This song is good though.

  • @RazzleDazzle9410 Shows how little you know. This song came out in the mid-90s.

  • @BOBMAN1980 This song came out in 1985. I remember it quite clearly.

  • @BOBMAN1980 It was the 80's fuckface.

  • @RazzleDazzle9410 Made the comment on the wrong video bitch. Oh fucking well. . .now go and cry.

  • @BOBMAN1980 mid 90s not, smack middle in the 80s,'85 to be exact.

  • @BOBMAN1980 Can you not read? The description says 1985, any music guru you ask will say '85, any website you search on will say '85, not 90's. Get your shit correct before you start correcting people

  • @RazzleDazzle9410 um no try the best decade, gas was cheap, and we had a good ol texan as president, now look what we have, most pop singers are whores and the president is loser who is gonna lose this november.

  • @gnome33 I'm talking about music. It was super gay.

  • @RazzleDazzle9410 yeah but thit shifted to politics,

  • @gnome33 don't give a fuck

  • @RazzleDazzle9410 milli vanilli and new kids in the block were the shiz

  • so i'm classed as an oldie because i loved this band when i was a teenager .....this band is still going good and strong!!! i love the new sounds and new bands but they shouldn't cover already made songs!! if these new bands are so good they should write there own music and lyrics and not go back to what has already been done!!!

  • Why can't both the original version and the Flo Rida mash up to this song be appreciated? Good music is good music and both versions are awesome. You oldies need to open up to some of the new sounds coming out and my god, people who think the music now is better than it ever has been need to do some research.

  • If you can't get your ass up and move to this song (whatever generation you're from) your dead...

  • 25 minute advertisement? You have GOT to be kidding me. Thank you Skip button!

  • I fail to see how this has 96 dis-likes. The video shows exactly what it says on the title, what sad bastards actually go around disliking random music videos for fun??

  • He must have a "low talker" friend that convinced him to wear that puffy shirt.

  • Today I learned what it feels like to have my ears orgasm.

  • Awesome !!!, always feel good when hearing this one =)

  • 95 people weren't sold sanctuary

  • @drcalculus3 they were turned away, I see why

  • The best song I've ever heard

  • always loved his voice...The Culllllllltttt!

Thanks for backin me up on the lyrics, I was laughin at myself while reading "oh the heads that turn" thinking i had it wrong with "Texas sun." Anyway thanks for posting

  • Classic!!

  • The lyrics are wrong. It's "The Texas sun makes my back burn."

  • I GREW UP WITH THE LONG HAIR ROCK BANDS LIKE THE CULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing song.... but in the description the lyrics are wrong. It's (the Texas sun makes my back burn) not (the heads that turn make my back burn). The Cult=]

  • Bloody love this song.

  • The drummer played with Big Country also. I've had the pleasure of seeing both bands live totally brilliant.

  • VOGUE....

  • Loved The Cult, but became more of a fan when they went more metal..

  • 80s por siempre!!

  • for some reason evertime i see this video i think of the rolling stones meet queen

  • Hay, wears the incredibly wack rap??

  • great moves,,, roots

  • DAVE MIRRA 2!

  • that super commercial sucked ass. buttwiper killed a great song

  • buttwiper ruined a great song. thanks

  • that stupid buttwiper commerical ruined a great song.

  • still excellent..

  • This was back in the day where a band could actually play instruments... It's not lyrical genius, unfortunately, but the music itself is amazing.

  • @redrosegrave people still play instruments don't be an ignorant prick to think they don't

  • Got here from rob and bug

  • The same here..That commercial brought me good times with this music..but is the lyric correct? He says "the heads the turn" or "the Texas sun" I've seen some lyrics with the Texas sun which sounds mostly like what he is really saying..

  • Not exactly lyrically brilliant, having to just repeat every line over and over.

  • lead singer sounds like freddy mercury

  • This is 1985!!! Say that again about a hundred more times to yourself while also thinking about the top songs/acts of 1985 - Wham, Lionel Ritchie, Phil Collins, Dire Straights, Mr Mister, Tears for Fears, and also thinking how this was well pre-Pixies, Nirvana, and all the grunge followers. This band is so underrated and underappreciated its a crime!!!

  • @Friday131969 this is actually a 'blitz' ("new romantic") tune and the whole scene had moved on by then (to rap and electro, early house and plenty of james brown in the clubs), but still great tho..u2 kinda adopted this sound and utterly rinsed it ;)

  • @Friday131969 great new wave song, but not unheard of by 1985. if you said 65' I would have said it a thousand times to myself. 9/10 song. very great tune.

  • @Friday131969 A CRIME DAMN IT!

  • @Friday131969 Amen to you Sir.

  • @Friday131969 I know. I've been listening to Sonic Temple since 1996 and I just got Love, what an amazing album! Blasted Rain with the windows down and it felt awesome. Such a shame all the kids are brainwashed by the machine now days, they can't see and will never see or hear good music as long as the totalitarian government destroys moral using media to keep us stupid.

    FIGHT THE MACHINE!

  • good song!!!

  • This song owes everything to Transmission by Joy Division

  • This song is a complete "wall of sound" ...

  • ..This is my favorite song of all time...

  • @gman0025 Yeah it's awesome. It's at the beginning of the movie Layercake. If you haven't seen check it out!

  • 2012 And this still sounds like gold

  • for some reason this song and alice in chains always remind me of fall time in michigan, ahhh football season (:

  • This song has been with me most of my adolescent life through my 20's, 30's and now I'm 40!...I never grow tired of this song and every time I hear it I tell myself I've never heard a better song...just unbelievable!...it just doesn't get any better IMO.

  • @Drewbert34 i am 44 you are right the best song ever

  • thank you Ian!!! great song

  • Luv Affair, downtown Vancouver, last call.

  • dave mirra 2!

  • Funny how the volume is as loud as it'll go and its still not loud enough X P

  • Why didn't I hear this back in 85'? This is awesome..I heard it on CoolTV and thought it was a new song!

  • He's...shufflin =o

  • He can move .....

  • Is it that we grew up with this music that we think it is great.. Which I do.. The Cult.. The Alarm.. Simple minds.. U2 etc all brilliant.. Just wonder if the music today they youngsters will feel the same in 20 years??????? Pete

  • kto z polski?

  • Alex Jones brought me here.

  • je vais marrier ian

  • To all of you saying "stop living in the past" you are all probably too young to understand that in the past the music was SO MUCH BETTER! Also "Smash Up" is a good name for what they did to this song in the shitty commercial. When you smash up a classic automobile it becomes a useless piece of shit. You like the shit because you don't know any better.

  • @balanironbreaker

People look for different things in music and I'm sure whatever you see in your music is great. Saying "you don't know any better" about people's tastes is just saying you don't know any better than to consider within your own values. If you can't shit talk outside your field(including younger gen's), most of the stuff you say is going to be irrelevant.

But, if you like bagging on things within a small group that's cool.

Just in case; I like this music a well

  • 93 people deserve no sanctuary

  • I forgo about this song until the fucking Super Bowl commercial. God, I love this song, one of the best songs of the 80's. I've listened to it 10 times on repeat and I regret nothing.

  • That guys got a awesome voice.

  • I got da money, da money,da bitch'es and ma money ,cause I shoot at yo momey

  • Hip hop is not music. It was rejected by 99 per cent of the blacks at the beginning .Itwould take a genieration of force feeding the shit to the little ones ,after lawsuits against record stores and radio stations, did this NARSEST ,punk shit stick.Id

  • Top 5 Rock Songs of All Time. Period.

  • brilliant song with great guitar sound, especially for all the children wearing dipers in the 80's

this song will stand longer than any song of the 90's

  • dude u have to admit people are forgetting about these great songs they don't have the exposure they had once so if that gives light to the music i love then well go ahead. lets share great music with the world!

  • No need to ask Ian who is influences are... He dresses like Steven Tyler, moves like a mash-up between Tyler and Mick Jagger and sings like a punk Jim Morrison.

  • THUBS UP IF YOU HAVE SEEN LAYER CAKE

  • Gran Turismo 3 !!!! Thumbs up if you remember that!! Oh the good ole days :)

  • The Cult " She Sells Sanctuary" - Budweiser: 'Eternal Optimism' Ad

  • I was mad, freaking dogs were barking, but then i remembered this song and...

    Pure win.

  • This song is so freaking cool!

  • That lead singer had serious moves.

  • I can't stop listening to this song. Local St. Louis talk show host Dana Loesch uses it as her opening theme music every day!

  • I knew I knew this from somewhere better!

  • @manbartlett this song is from the games: Guitar Hero Aerosmith and GTA Vice City

  • @MrFan9876 and Gran Turismo 3 :)

  • The greatest songs are discovered by the artists completely by accident. That is true art. I guess if you find your working on something for too long it's sort of a lost cause and you are trying to hard. What I mean is, next to this riff being discovered completely by accident in the recording studio, you have Sweet Child of Mine by Guns 'N' Roses made up on the spot and Keith Richard's dream of Satisfaction. There are probably many, many more.

  • The Superbowl commercial completely RUINED this classic song. Stupid advertisers think that you have to add hip-hop to every single classic song when you're using it in a commercial or else what? People won't be able to like it? Such posers. This song kicks any hip-hop song's ass

  • i had no problem with the commercial. the whole idea of the commercial was meshing old and new, bringing audience from past to present.

  • thumbs up if gta vice city brought you here ;)

  • @CandyBatMusic no, it was guitar hero aerosmith

  • some of the easiest lyrics to sing

  • greatest riff of the 80's
