  • The melanoma genome research appears sound though :)

  • So what he's saying: Your skin starts to make a tan once your vitamin D production for the day is done. This tan will protect your skin. Conclusion: a tan is not good. ??? Shouldn't that be: get your vitamin D level up so you have some natural protection?

  • The apparent absence of vitamin D protection for prostate cancer is a special case, btw. Most probably due to the D levels influencing testosterone. When you have got prostate cancer your vitamin D level predicts your chances of survival though.

  • For example the research data at 10:50 was for a study where they gave people 400 IU D3. Which is nothing compared to the 10-20 000 that your skin can make. This did not change the blood levels of the participants very much. A second look at the data in another paper still revealed that the 25(OH)D level is related to the cancer risk. You need about 75 IU D3 per kg bodyweight.
