It was smart for Polaris to use Yanmar engines. Polaris's (proprietary) diesel atv engine always had problems.
Yanmar engines are very reliable and do not require much upkeep. Not as powerful as Kohler diesel engines of similar weight/size. However well worth having none the less.
The D-Polaris should also have a manual locking 4wd (no computer control). Diesel power is a little different when in 4wd.
this is a bios video because the rtv will haul drumaticaly more weight that the ranger and the righter of the video should not have used a speed that the rtv will not reach plus the rtv isn't built for off road it is built for work site work and can have a hydraulics kit to run equipment like jack hammers chain saws and many other tools
Polaris info-mercials are a crock. The kubota has a tractor transmission and will last forever. Not in the same comparison group. Wait unit some Polaris Fan shells out 15k for a piece of junk polaris with a belt drive Atv transmission for work and has to change the belt everyday when it smokes.
You guys aren't too bright are you? Why don't you compare youself to another toy instead of a work vehicle. The kubota is built so much better and stronger than the ranger.
@jnyost OMFG!! Are you kidding? I've personally evaluated every UTV platform on the market and the Kubota isn't even close the the Polaris Ranger Diesel. The Kubota is a decent UTV, but they are lacking in some many areas. I suggest you go take a look at both of these UTVs before you make any more ridiculous claims.
put a turbo on that diesel along with better gear ratio and put it in the HD and 6x6 instead of a model of its own, with the change of the turbo and gear ratio that should put that thing right up with the speed of the normal polaris ranger gas models. You'd have one hell of a model then, I'd be sold
@adamslurch71 If I had the disposable income to do so I would have haha. For still being a teenager I have a lot of work ahead of me to reach that goal.
polaris... U are doing these competitions, sport style. Not working style.

Do you know why the polaris is SO much lighter? Because it 80% plastic and 20% steel lol

The only advantage the ranger has over the kubota is the suspension and it's FDL.
There is no way the ranger diesel will out tow or haul the Kubota and it's mechanical transmission.
The Ranger will shread its' belt (among other things) long before the finish line with the loads the kubota can carry.
The D-ranger is nice but it's upkeep will require a small fortune.
Add a FTI hydromatic cvt, tougher suspension, and perhaps a 6wd version to the D-polaris and then i will consider it.

@dieselfanaticIN why not buy one and do it yourself, it would be cheaper that way.
