  • Man, that is what I call RARE!

  • I'll be t there are over 1000 who SAY they were there

  • Aw pure VU bliss. That is just fantastic. Thanks!

  • MAY=MY BRITHDAY

  • I love this song so much but I dislike this version. Yes I was the sap that has the first dislike on this thread.

  • hehehe. proto-metal machine music. a crowd in philly could certainly appreciate this timeless classic, aesthetic permutations and all. mr. reed was so far ahead of his time that few have caught with him even today, and even fewer have tried. this version is played at secret order of somnambulist solitude soirees after the ceremonial soporifics have been supplied to the initiates. sssshhhhhhnnnnnmmmmmsshh. a++.

  • I recorded this at the Second Fret in Philadelphia. Only about 15 people there.

  • @vinylbob a big thankyou for capturing my favourite recording of this track, beautiful.

  • vinal,awsome.a sub,thumbs up and favorits.peace.

  • should I upload cleveland 68? I

  • so stoned

  • I have a version of this song that is edited slightly differently from this: there is an interview at the start between (I think) John and some bloke, talking about the Viola d'Amore: about how it compares with the bowed instruments in the East as it has resonated strings which gives it a very warm, nostalgic sound etc. etc. My version has some of the song cut from the middle and is not as clear quality as this, but I'll try to upload it later on anyway.

  • @joleblonde That is from a vinyl boot that used excerpts of this track.

  • @joleblonde Hey do you think u could dub that version of this song thats better quality on here or, if you could, onto my web, please let me know.. thanks buddy!!

  • This song is from a May, 1970 set recorded in Philadelphia.

For sure this isn't in Max's Kansas City, there's no crowd and it's not listed in the Max's Kansas City rehearsal bootleg.

You have a live "Train 'Round the Bend" video also and this Oh Sweet Nothing is part of that, both songs are done in one live jam.

So there you go, I'm 99.999999% sure thats where this Oh Sweet Nothing is from, both songs have appeared in a few VU boots, always together.

  • Oh and I can't be 100% sure that this is from that show, I haven't heard this bootleg (yet), only read about it. ;)

  • Thanks for the insight! I was thrilled when I found these recordings. Ahh, to have been in that room

  • cool! thanks for sharing.
