I remember the night Devo made their debut on Saturday Night Live, Fall 1978. I was working Graveyard at the Mill & called Kathy around midnight from the payphone at the breakroom. She was telling me of these amazing punks in *garbage bags*... with flowerpots for helmets. "Satisfaction" was one of the tunes they mangled that night. We remained followers of the Devo. New Wave & Punk were a welcome relief for the stagnant disco & country scenes we had in the late 1970s here.

Regarding the comment above "This is so different from the Rolling Stones version that it is a song onto itself", I remeber reading an interview with Mick Jagger in Rolling Stone magazine in the 1980's, and he was asked about the Devo cover of Satisfaction. Jagger said "I like it better than our version".
