The motor itself most likely had a back up battery installed, so the motor can still be used to open or close the door a few times. Even though it's unplugged.
@chicagolandhobby Why not read his question? He is talking about stretch springs not torsion. And either way most folks do not have a 500# lb door. Stop with the advice before something bad happens. ie, safety cables ect.
Why not cut me some slack? I did read his question. He did not specify if the springs were extension or torsion, so I assumed torsion. Stop with the judging before thinking a little bit.
Love my Door, Been Working great!, Just one little irk. The clock on the wall button is still flashing 12:00. I wish one of the installers would have set this clock :(
Just a quick question. Does that wire channeling lock the wires in securely? You yourself said wires shouldn't be near any moving parts, and in this factor, you have the belt and the trolley.
No, it's the original DC belt drive. It took the design of the older screw drive designs, but apparently there were numerous problems, (shocking, since it is a LiftMaster). Chamberain removed that style completely... you don't even see it in Craftsman anymore.
Punchis1983, This is actually a LiftMaster Model 3850 with Built-In battery backup. Rather than simulate a power outage we unplug the operator to confirm the battery backup is working properly. Or David Copperfield is our Installation Technician, you pick. Please call your local Precision Door Service Franchise and we can install one of these for you. Have a great day.
i don't get this commercial, at 4:06 note that the electric door opener is not plugged in and it is lifting the garage door. Unless they have invented a electric free door opener this video is a spoof.
this particular LiftMaster has a battery backup so if the power goes out, the door will still open. Great for elderly people. My grandma has one and when the power goes out, she doesn't have to lift the door.

We installed the new springs(150LB Red code), garage door won't go down.
little bit move down and right back up.
The door can be forcefuly pulled down. It's more than 500LB door.
Opening with remote control works fine. Closing is the problem.
some advice please?
My car has been sitting out...:(

@SHINYamAHA21
Either unwind both of the springs another 1/4 turn at a time or turn the close force up a little bit on the opener.

Is that the screw drive on the left door? (looking from the inside)
I've yet to learn the screw drive model numbers.
