How does that shoot? it looks like he reloads a new tube on it, but, the same piece looks like the barrel of the gun. Is it like those vulcan guns? the ones that send an electrical pulse down the barrel which also houses the rounds?

Wouldn't EXTREMELY HIGH rate of fire metal storm weapons

(more then 1 bullet moving in the barrel at once) cause the 2nd bullet's velocity to be severly reduced since it has to go against the pressure of the first round?

@xGothimox no it would not newtons second law is in effect. if the pressure behind the second is equal or greater then the first. think of cars on the highway moving at the same speed and pressure as distance.

a car and a bullet dont both use wheels, the cars "equal and opposite" reaction is the road

the bullets equal and opposite reaction is the gases pushing backwards, these gases are pushing backwards on the 2nd bullet and thus slowing its velocity.

@xGothimox its hard to talk physics to idiots but okay, it was an example show how the distance is the same the pressure behind the second bullet would be equal to the pressure that is also weakening in the first. second the real world examples at the Metal Storm website prove I'm right check it out. or read a book

Wouldn't there be a pressure low in front of the second bullet so increasing the velocity? Not sure how the gun works, so if the pressure is sent out then what I'm thinking is wrong, but if the pressure goes out the front of the barrel, then the second bullet would be "drafted". Cycling term, find a truck going along and ride 1-2 meters behind, you're practically pulled along. Pretty gun.

all of metalstorm's weapons are powered by electricity. which in my opinion is a very bad idea. i wouldn't trust a gun that runs on batteries

Are you in the defense forces of any country? 'Cause you know, they trust the GPS's, night vision, scopes. All the vehicles you get in need a starter motor which use a battery to start them. Plane, helicopter, car, tank, motorbike, quad. Mobile phone, walkie talkie. If someone asked you the time and you looked at your watch, would you tell them the time displayed or "I don't trust it, it runs on batteries". I get that it's iffy, but lots of things are electricity powered. Chill :P

@xGothimox Yes. And it causes a pressure build up in the barrel, which isn't good for a barrel. It's because of this Metal Storm introduced a system that locks firing until the pressure in the barrel reduces to a safe level (ie the bullet has exited the muzzle.) This slows the rate of fire, although it is still much faster than any other conventional weapon.

Going by the laws of physics and the displayed recoil, this display was certainly done with (very) low power rounds.

Therefore, I am not impressed. Come on, high velocity buckshot, let's see it in full glory, fired as a pistol.

Is that an airsoft pistol. No seriously look up shotgun and watch what happens to people firing one handed and did anyone notice that you could see the projectiles at normal frame rate? This must be the non-lethal version. MAUL? I wouldn't even consider a being hit with that thing a bitch-slap.

@davidkolo The weapon is called "MAUL," as in Multi-shot Accessory Underbarrel Launcher. It has nothing whatsoever to do with any video game. The acronym was likely chosen due to its intimidating sound, not because some idiot played one FPS too many. More importantly, I doubt anyone actually buy a superposed munition electronic ignition shotgun because it sounded like some damn science fiction gun from a video game.

Thats a pretty damn weak 12 gauge if thats what its supposed to be. You can see the damn shot traveling to the target.
