You can tell these dogs are loved like no other no doubt, but feeding them all the people food only shortens their already slim lifespan, but it also can bring on a ton of medical complications as well. Dont let the comments about them being overweight bother you. My Mastiff was 170 and overweight. We got her on a diet and she is now 140 (a good weight for her.) You love your dogs and they love you twice as much.
Thanks the comments do not get me down. The brindle mastiff was born without with bone forming in his hind knees. The doctor said once his front legs go he will need to be put down. The fawn is going on 10 years plus and still getting around fine. Much like overweight people in real life sometimes there a medical problem, physicall problem, that contributes to theis situtation. Most folks are judgemental and assume without finding the facts.

Mastiffs will eat as much as you allow. And Mastiff owners are famous for wanting bragging rights to appalling weights. This takes years off the life and comfort of the dog. I own two Mastiffs..as well as a giant bred Alaskan Malamute. All of my dogs are lean and athletic. Not to say they don't eat a ridiculous amount of food! The energy they exert has to be replaced somehow! These are the most amazing dogs EVER.. treat them with more love than you do yourself!

@DaroffApFire You should never pull on the dog's neck - you can cause serious and permanent damage. It's totally unnecessary if you've trained the dog properly. Check out Jean Donaldson and Turid Rugaas's training books - they're brilliant and only endorse positive reinforcement.
@RamtinK Sorry, but you don't need a pinch collar for any animal. I rescued a bull mastiff from the pound -- we didn't want a big dog but he was about to be put down... We trained him with only positive reinforcement (no jerking on the collar, no yelling etc - just food treats) and he doesn't pull on his lead and is an absolute joy to have in our lives.

Your dogs are beautiful. But you should think about getting them on a lower calorie kibble or diet. The brindle one is really overweight and you can tell in the video that the extra weight is straining his joints. The other dog isn't too fit either. I'm not trying to be mean but for the sake of your dogs, which we know you love dearly, you should REALLY change their eating habits. And honestly, prong collars are so old school. Anyone can teach a dog to heel, or at least the dogs a gentle leader

I think you're dogs are lovely and I think it's absolutely adorable how dogs bond with their owner and remain their big babies. It's wonderful you have such a nice bond with your dogs. Prong/pinch collars disgust me, as do the users of them. They teach a dog to respond to pain. All the best for the future, with dogs that have been taught pain. If you can't control your penis extensions the proper way, it's best not to have them.

Dogs will just eat all they want, but they need YOU to control what they are eating. I would be feeding them 1/2 as much. They will beg, and complain, but it is for their own good. Lean is healthy.

@DaroffApFire You should never pull on the dog's neck - you can cause serious and permanent damage. It's totally unnecessary if you've trained the dog properly. Check out Jean Donaldson and Turid Rugaas's training books - they're brilliant and only endorse positive reinforcement.

@RamtinK Sorry, but you don't need a pinch collar for any animal. I rescued a bull mastiff from the pound -- we didn't want a big dog but he was about to be put down... We trained him with only positive reinforcement (no jerking on the collar, no yelling etc - just food treats) and he doesn't pull on his lead and is an absolute joy to have in our lives.

Your dogs are beautiful. But you should think about getting them on a lower calorie kibble or diet. The brindle one is really overweight and you can tell in the video that the extra weight is straining his joints. The other dog isn't too fit either. I'm not trying to be mean but for the sake of your dogs, which we know you love dearly, you should REALLY change their eating habits. And honestly, prong collars are so old school. Anyone can teach a dog to heel, or at least the dogs a gentle leader
