Well, they made him marry Rita after she force fed him a love potion, then he became more of the comedy bady! He was constantly insulting Rita and he was a joke, basically, thats how they toned him down, they made him less scary by making him funny!
Zedd was such a kick-ass villain, and even when the writers betrayed him I never blamed him. I like to think he was in there somewhere, bemoaning his forced state of weakness. :D Heheh.
i still say had they gotten megazord out before pirantis fish face froze them, he would have still owned. zedd was smart in stopping them before they combined.
Zedd's a great villan and all, but i definately think the worst villan of all time has to be either Hannibal Roy Bean(from Xiaolin Showdown) or Chase Young(from Xiaolin Showdown as well)
I think it would've been cooler if the Thunder Zords were actually destroyed by Serpentera instead of Rita. I can even think of the footage to use. Serpentera blasting, the zord destruction footage, then have step on Tor and use the exploding part of the footage of it crushing Pachinkohead.

Yeah, Dai Shi is at least something a throwback to Zedd in that he's a strict no comedy villain, and to honest I think he has a more menacing voice. However, Dai Shi's Japanese counterpart was much less evil.

If they hadn't toned down both Rita and Lord Zedd into some "comedy couple" then they could've destroyed the Rangers easily. Rita should've have continued to practice her magic. They should've been using the putties, super putties AND the tengas all of them against the rangers. They should've made louie kaboom a general along with Rito and Goldar, or "upgrade" squatt and babboo, cause lord knows they didn't do shit. I kept referring Squat as "the penny monster" cause he clothes look like pennies
Well in PR and SS there times when the villains could've won easily if things were done differently. One thing is sending out all the monsters at once instead of just one at a time, and there's sending the most powerful monster instead just progressively stronger ones.
Even then, there's the problem with villains not working together. If the Psycho Rangers worked together they would've annihilated the rangers (although there was the problem with them being held back).

Well, it's true. In the movie Aisha presses the 'Emergency' button and the Ninja Falconzord knees Ivan Ooze in the nuts, sending him straight into the path of an oncoming meteor.
Technically he got killed by running into a comet that he was too stupid to notice. It was still cool how he tossed the ninja megazord through that building.
I would love to see Lord Zedd in the original Japanese show but he was what made me root for villains. Evil Green Ranger is cool but this guy is a Monster. I was really upset on how Ivan Ooze beat him. Lets be serious, no one can defeat The True Evil Emperor.
Zedd wasn't defeated by that pretender Ooze- he knew that the Rangers were going to get a power-up, and decided to let someone else take the fall. The only reason that the movie isn't canonical is that Zedd destroyed the weakened Angel Grove, and finished off the Rangers from their jaunt through space. Zedd is the greatest PW villian ever because he's an american who has no japanese counterpart unlike rita. Other american made characters like divatox suck and continue to suck, but not Zedd, even when he was toned down he was still cool.
I think that Astronema/Korane and Ransik were good. Astronema it was mostly when she was really evil, I mean she could order around the Pyscho Ranger and look at how tough they were. Ransik was comical at times, but towards the end he was really evil and the rangers couldn't actually beat him, he just saw the error of his ways (which for me, I like about his character since it goes with the tragic backstory, but I don't know what other people think)

oh that one. that ones called Lacrimosa and its from the spiderman 2 trailer. problem is I cant seem to find a good full version of that song.. all I can find is the original which is by Mozart.

Lord Zedd really WAS the greatest villain in the series. The Emporer of evil for a reason!
You want proof that he was the best villain? The episode of Overdrive "Always a Ranger" had a villain based on him leading all of it's bad guys.
If the Machine Empire were so great, how come they got beat up by the TONED DOWN Zedd?

I heard rumor that in back then when it was aired in foxkid. That the parents were complaining to the Saban co.,that lord zedd was too evil...! So the parents,they didn'n even let their children to whach the show!

Zedd is the greatest PW villian ever because he's an american who has no japanese counterpart unlike rita. Other american made characters like divatox suck and continue to suck, but not Zedd, even when he was toned down he was still cool.

I think that Astronema/Korane and Ransik were good. Astronema it was mostly when she was really evil, I mean she could order around the Pyscho Ranger and look at how tough they were. Ransik was comical at times, but towards the end he was really evil and the rangers couldn't actually beat him, he just saw the error of his ways (which for me, I like about his character since it goes with the tragic backstory, but I don't know what other people think)

I think they just should've toned his appearace down. If it was a evil as hell clown, soccer moms would protest. Something that looked like it came right from a fatality from a Mortal Kombat. If it was a puffy cat with baby clothes on that was evil as hell, those stupid soccer moms wouldn't say a thing.

Lord Zedd would have crushed King Mondo. He was more than powerful enough... until they toned down his evil.
They started the "downage" or whatever you call it a little before the wedding with Rita... and believe me, it showed.
