  • Why don't we have better education?

  • Both educations are shit. And these scientific project you speak of exist only because the rest of the countries people are worked like ox to make a profit. Monetary system is fucked up.

  • While the chinese are cramming US history for test, US kids are out there smoking pot.

    Thats why.

  • look at this big fat ugly expired guy....kkkkkkkkkk we need young ppl opinion not you fat ignorance...

  • Ask yourself also, why is it so much more common for foreigners to come to the US for their college education than the other way around. If the schools in other countries are superior you would think their students would go to college there not here.

  • Why should we encourage more americans to get college educations when it is harder and harder for college grads to find employment here? Every US company who can take advantage of cheaper labor abroad seems to do it - leaving college grads with high college loan debt and no way to pay it off. If we want the jobs to come back we nedd to agree to work for $5 a week.

  • I quit smoking 4 days ago and it's making me give angry looks every time he says "Amerrika" instead of "America" ROFL! While he's talking about Americans being less educated.... ROFL! Oh, the irony!!! >_<

  • Comment removed

  • Because I had both.

  • I am Chinese. I think American education is way better than China's.

  • Holy generalizations, Batman. Yes, there are ignorant and uneducated people in America, but there are also very well-educated people in America, I think that goes for any nation. The problem with American education is not a lack of American History knowledge, but a lack World History knowledge, a lack of emphasis on creativity, innovation, motivation, and most importantly, a lack of value on the pursuit of knowledge. It's almost more of a cultural issue than an institutional issue.

  • Garbage author.and garbage opinion

  • @DmitryMakovetskiy Your opinion of course ;)

  • 3:09 - random guy sleeping in bookstore?

  • you are quite right.

  • i'm chinese and i have to say that chinese education is really crazy and brainwashing... go hell communists

  • @nagisachandaisuki how does education have to do with communists?? its a over populated country I'll be surprise if it isn't crazy over there.

  • But of course Americans dont want to hear that so they just dismiss it, insult them, and declare themselves the best. Much easier than actually sitting through those classes, passing all those tests and turning in all those homework assignments.

  • what is interesting to me is that all the high school and college grads in China learn english, yet insignificant of their American counterparts speak Chinese. So in fact the Chinese kids are ready and prepared to perform and function from anywhere in this globalized world, where the America kids are not. And this is just the beginning. So its not a strectch to see how China will be the dominant power in the not too distant future.

  • @LexFranis lots of people in china, and this creates a scarcity of college. China need another 30 years for enough colleges for kids.

  • United States citizens don't know America is not a country.

  • @Douken America is not a Country? its like saying France or Germany or Britain or Korea or Africa is not a True Country. Buy yourself an Atlas and Study, no wonder why your so Dumb.

  • @brianthao102 Oops. Actually Africa is not a country either. They have 54 countries each with its own soveriegnty, president etc etc. Just like Asia we have China, India, japan, Thailand, Myanmar etc etc, Africa is the same setup.

  • @ofosusam Someone is Smart and knows their Geology. Tell me More about Antarctica and Hitler and George the III and N. Korea's Secret Nuke.

  • Comment removed

  • @LexFranis

    Again: "NO! NO! NO!

The and every Non-english people go to some English Country just to get a better 'WORLD LANGUAGE SKILLS' mainly. Or else don't make you're self think special.. English came from Germany or else you would be speaking Germans, idiOts!

One question i have: What College do you study in?

  • @LexFranis

Keep being racist you dead dick, You're own Hilary claimed that "21st Century belongs to Asia" Ohh.. even she doesn't says.. Nobody fucks! damn... you such a folthy racist i ever met?!

  • today, the purpose of education for most people is to get a job...I'm a chinese and I study in U.S cuz U.S degree is much valueble than any other countries' degree...better degree, better job...I meet several amazing professors who are really intellegent....but, the education system is actually no difference between us and china....I have to earn 93 credit hours on history and art, etc...wtf, why should i pay so much for those which i can get from anywhere? and my major course only cost me 1 yr.

  • Mass ignorance in a country is dangerous if left unchecked.

  • neither education is good!

Pay no attention to other comments!

This is from a person that was born in CHina, fluent in writing and reading in mandarin and english.

  • i think its great video about in education .

  • shame developed countries today are taking education for granted, I personally don't think the schools are so-called "under-funded" it's just students aren't willing to give themselves an education.

  • @dmondblade My experience from student teaching is that most of the kids are more concerned with partying or playing with their iphones. The ones who seem to actually care tend to separate themselves because they don't feel like they fit in. I was in an urban school, and the kids were pretty mixed as far as ethnicity and background. What we really need is to get kids working together more often in the classroom. Students have so much to teach each other.

  • what is hindu ? it lays eggs........

  • @george941030 Indeed the academic pressure in many asian countries tends to be more stressful then in the west. I did wound up breaking the law a couple of times when younger and a bit more experimental in China, every time I was caught for it the police would generally just warn me about it and sometimes ask me to pay a fine, a few times the law I had broken was drug related. However I was foreigner myself from Europe so I wonder if that made a difference in the attitude.

  • @george941030 China has been a free country for most of it's history, it was only because of Mao that China's entire reputation and culture got ruined, but China is recovering. I lived in China for ten years, really loved living there, you could do so much there without ever being bothered by anyone. People have individual freedom to do what they like, while in developed countries people seem to have less individual freedom and more public freedom.

  • This guy is a idiot. America just has a problem with having really Dumb people or really smart people. The information is always presented to these cell phone junky high schoolers, its just they don't listen. Besides were living in the day were information is at your finger tips you just haft to have the want for knowledge. They had questions like that in college and they were just being funny your testing your awareness. It is a part of psychology, it makes you more aware.

  • This is depressing

  • this man doesn't know anything about china or american

  • bla bla bla bla

  • OMG this guy is alright but he talks of amURRica being illiterate!. amERica (Uh-Mare-Ih-Cuh) not (Uh-Murr-Ih-Cuh)

  • I LIKE THIS THE TRUTH KEEPS COMING OUT SHOW WHAT AMERICA DARKSIDE.

  • Those are not typical american exams. They take the worst of the worst.

  • US Vs Chinese Education? HAH Atleast We Arn't Afraid of Tienenimen Square, Atleast We don't USE MILITARY FORCE on our citizens. Seriously. Great China Scammed US and Europe. CAnt make their own damn money.. Americans need to learn more and get educated with this subject,

  • @DeathbyDakota, Americans may not be afraid of their military turning against them, but they sure aren't afraid to throw their military around the world and point their guns elsewhere. Most Americans don't even realize how badly they're still being brainwashed. Remember when the US began the Iraq War in 2003? The whole country was whipped into war fever even though no solid reason to attack Iraq ever emerged. Anti-war advocates were seen as anti-American all of a sudden. Now look at our mess.

  • @ZhangtheGreat From my observation we were quite anti-iraq invasion but pro-afghanistan invasion.

  • Another book complaining about the system, but not offering any useful information about how to make it better?

  • De Krassel makes a couple of salient points about US Education.

What he doesn't state and probably doesn't know is that mass public schooling is set up largely to provide future employees for industry.

First, schools were first created in the US to provide basic writing, reading and math skills. America was largely rural and thus a farmer or store clerk had no need to know Calculus back in the 19th century.

Second, most Americans didn't go to high school until after WWII. Same with college.

  • I like the joke it was great!!

  • 2010 dec 19 It reported China's rapid economic expansion, whether and when to go beyond US. as the world's largest economy, cause for concern. British "Economist" magazine proposed a forecasting model, estimated in 2019 that China may become a world economic leader. Goldman Sachs in 2010 predicted China will overtake the US in 2027; the British Standard Chartered Bank predicted China will 2020, surpassing US. "The Economist" points out China GDP in 2022 should surpass US.

  • @buroilu possible but nothing is set it stone and its highly unlikely that it'll happen in that way considering that their is such a long unpredictable time range

  • China economy has surpassed US economy in 2024 and become the world's most competitive economy in the same year.

  • @buroilu

Yes, but United state will have " American dream ". Altough in China, 65% of the population are very poor, can't to eat good. Some Chinese children works 10 hours a day at 8 years old etc.

So same if China exonomy suprassed US economy in 2024, Chine will be the first just in economy.

  • @Bassoarno, the "American Dream" is rapidly fading. Most Americans today are more pessimistic than optimistic. Just listen to the way they speak: everything they talk about seems to be a complaint about something.

In contrast, the Chinese are full of energy. Their enthusiasm level is beyond comparison. They're excited about where their country is headed. They're optimistic that great days are ahead, even during this economic mess. Education to them is not a chore, but a blessing.

  • @ZhangtheGreat

    @ZhangtheGreat

150 000 000 of Chinese children can even not to go at the school. And 300 000 000 of Chinese work 100 hours a week to earn 200 dollars a months. Moreover among childrens who go at the school, 35% considering kill himself (suicide).

What are you talking is right, just for Hong-kong, some district from Pekin and Shanghaï. But they represent even not 10% of all the population.

    So please stop saying bullshits.

    P.S. : I lived in Hong-kong during 10 years.

  • @Bassoarno, not really. Travel to any Chinese city and you'll see that level of energy reflected among the youth.

I'm not denying China has its problems with child labor and high suicide rates. School in China is ferocious and can eat a child alive. I do question your numbers though (35%? That sounds impossibly high). But if you look at educational opportunities today versus thirty years ago, the ratio of children who CAN receive a quality education has skyrocketed. That's rapid improvement.

  • Before, smart people like scientists and intellectuals used to come to America. That is how America became powerful. But nowadays, asylum seekers, freedom seekers and money seekers come to North America. Eastern countries have appealing scientific and technological projects that attract smart people. I live in N. America and I can tell this fact.

  • @nofreedom4racists Fact? No.

  • Yea usa citizens cant even name their 50 states!

  • @ps31871 i doubt that very much :)

  • china may be developing more rapidly than the U.S. but they are not going to surpass the U.S. any time soon. china has the #2 economy in the world, but this is only a third of the size of the U.S. economy. I will admit I believe their public education is better than ours, except for the colleges. the majority of their population still earn a living on farmland, though this is gradually decreasing. I do believe that eventually they will surpass the U.S. but not anytime soon.

  • China is growing rapidly and will probably dominate the world soon:P

Americans just eat MacDonalds everyday, watch TV, and rape ppl, lol

heck, Canadians are better than Americans

  • @beeperson1 Lol, steriotype much? =I Canadians are basically ugly americans =D

  • @beeperson1 not really, lol China can't take over U.S. military power, heck nobody can. And eat mcdonalds? STEREOTYPE MUCH. Why do you call us fat? 90% of Americans are good weight. The 10% fat are only immigrants. Anyways, other countries eat a lot of mcdonalds too so stfu and Canadians are stupid fat fucks.

  • @beeperson1 Lol 40 million Canadians can die against our 300 million Americans!

  • The Chinese may dominate the science studies, the world economy ,natural resource consumption and everything else except innovation and inventions.I have yet to see any technology or idea that sets them higher or above the white inventions.Till then, they're just good copiers, nothing else.

  • @Didier843 YEAH a COUNTRY OF FAKE!

  • @Didier843 chinese were killing their children to in studying.not aloud to play.yeah can play but piano or violin.poor crying children. beaten if homework is not done well.beaten if they have bad school grades.in US parents not aloud to hurts kids or being rude to kids.

  • Comment removed

  • @Didier843 China has registered more new technology/science patents than any other country in the world. They aren't copiers any more. They are catching up the to US rapidly in terms of technology and science knowledge.

  • my chinese friend told me that china's education is very bad, they study alot without stopping, the school hours are from morning to night or even sometimes, students sleep in the schools, they are threated like study robots

  • @jin54363

    Yes it is true.

Korean students face similar environments in our schools.

The reason for this, however, is largely due to the fact that we do our "weeding" out process in high school. More so than in western nations like the U.S.

HS students in Korea take college level classes and by the time they get to undergrad, they are at graduate level. This is why Korean students who wish to pursue an MD obtain it in 4 years of college without having to go to medical school separately.

  • @77rxpharmacy

    thanks for the explanation

  • @jin54363 yep it's true, from primary school to high school.I am a chinese student in university.

  • This dumbass needs to study a little history himself. America was open to having relations with the PRC until the communists mistreated US diplomats in China and later entered the Korean War. If this guy were a real China expert he’d talk about the content of his book instead of making stupid, baseless jokes about Americans.

  • Hey BillyzaCoon, who invented Paper, Printing, Compass, that changed the world the way of life?

  • this guy is a stupid. i dont think chinese people have ever invented anything that completely changed the way of life, therefore, they are not smarter than americans.

  • @BillyzaCoon

which american u talking about?? german american?italian ame.?japanese ame.?chinese ame.? indian ame.? spanish ame.? ....

  • @nabamojoey

What American? The American that lives in the United States of America.

  • @BillyzaCoon China created paper, the compass, gunpowder, printing, noodles which we wouldn't have pasta without, the use of rice, they were the first in discovering how deficiency causes diseases, fireworks, flares for military signaling, landmines, kites, many treatments for medical problems, tea, toliet paper. Yeah we use none of these things in our lives today.

  • @DeadButBreathing and if the Zheng He's fleet had colonized America, they would kick the Europeans back to their homeland.

  • When China can (1) come up with just FIVE brand names with the same stature as Sony, Sharp, Canon, Samsung and Hewlett Packard, (2) win just ONE Nobel Prize, (3) produce just ONE blockbuster movie that can do better than AVATAR, and (4) have just ONE university that everyone around the world dreams of studying in, like Cambridge or Harvard, THEN I'll believe Chinese education is actually better than that of the US.

  • @S1587915G How about this. Chinese students for the last 10 yrs dominated International competition in Maths, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

In recent Computer programming competition backed by NSA Chinese students dominated.

China is now the World largest exporting nation and will soon overtake US as the World biggest manufacturing country.

Watch out for the next wave of Innovations and Inventions coming out from

China especially in the Renewable Energy Industry.

  • @typhoonq yeah exporter of bad products and fake goods.pioson milk stuff like that.....

  • @S1587915G Sony, Canon and Sharp are Japanese, Samsung is korean. China has one Nobel prizes for many things including peace, medicine, physics. Literature etc. China has many famous revolutionary flims but they aren't as advertised in the west, Brokeback Mountain was directed by a Chinese man though. China has many great universities, problem? They are in Chinese, that's the only reason people don't go study there because they don't understand Chinese. So you were saying?

  • @DeadButBreathing He was saying China is a third world country. End of discussion.

  • @poolopis01 "Third world country" means nothing. I'm European and have been living both in so called "developed" countries and "third world countries" including China, and have found that so called third world countries have a lot more to offer. Developed countries have become police states, while in third world countries at least you have your freedom. How ironic.

  • @DeadButBreathing but i have no much so called "freedom" compared with you as you said, for instance, the freedom of speaking and surfing Youtube.I am Chinese and live in China all the time.

  • @DeadButBreathing

I must bow to you for your comment...exactly what I wanted to say

  • @DeadButBreathing You're talking about police states. China has got to be the biggest one. Arresting a noble peace prize winner. Constant censorship..does that sound like "Freedom" to you?

  • @kemoblue4u How dare u talk about the people's republic of China that way! They are as free as the US and even FREEEEEER. That's what we are told atleast isn't it? They are still commies ask their public with no government intervention

  • @DeadButBreathing china is 2nd world.

  • @PeaceLoveFairytales Its not a 2nd world country anymore. Its more of third world...

  • @DeadButBreathing you obviously have no idea what 3rd world country means. Here: 1st world - NATO, 2nd world Warsaw pact, 3rd world - all others/non-aligned

  • @jimbojones888 That was the Cold War definition, these days people use the term "Third World Country" to refer to a developing country, often one that did not adopt capitalism early enough or didn't conform to western standards. But it's still been turned into an negative label.

  • this guys retarded

  • Three thousand views? Lil Wayne 12.000,000 views. Thats what is wrong with America. Priorities. or lack of them.

  • @MrLyons0 Yeah it does, or it will. The US is billions of dollars in debt to China, over 900 billion. At stores, nearly everything is made in China. I went to an Army-Navy surplus store once and everything there was, you guessed, made in China.

Don't get me wrong, I support trade with China, but the debt is way too high.

  • @BlueDragonMaster98 ban china products.quality not good.even i you bought it in big branded company.i

  • @jimmytwoshoes2009 Maybe parts of China are like that, but not all. You make China seem like a country of liers and cheats who are violent and have no care about human life. It's a rather unintelligent way of getting people to see your opinions, apart from the fact that you have no grammar skills whatsoever. An no, I'm still going to buy products from China or anywhere I please.

  • Is this fucking idiot joking or is he fucking drunk?

  • jcs1978

    u need to go school

  • This guy is shitty. Mao did not work with the U.S. to defeat the Japs. The U.S. alone defeated the Japs by dropping the A-bomb. That ended WWII.

He is trying to suggest that Mao worked with the Americans to defeat the Japs when he said Mao and the Americans defeated the Japs... In fact, neither Mao nor his "buddy" CKS of the KMT could defeat the Japs. He should ask the Chinese families living in America to send their kids to schools in China.

  • @jcs1978 You sir are an idiot

  • @Stealth3 Only idiots have to call others idiots.

  • @jcs1978 The atom bomb didn't entirely defeat Japan. The threat of Russian involvement in the Pacific War helped let to defeat. Two bombs had to be dropped and Russians declaring war for the Japanese to give up. As for Mao working with the US, Mao and marxists worked with KMT for a while but I don't remember an alliance with the US. In any event, you have let your racism and antiasian fervor influence your history.

  • great video!

  • @Sceno1 I don't know if I would go far to call it a "conspiracy theory." Class interests don't always need conspiracies to occur to meet objectives or keep a tight rein on power.

In the case of education, public schools serve a purpose and the vast majority of people in this country either are ignorant or apathetic about this purpose which is to provide a modicum of formal learning to average person who then becomes a worker.

  • Anyway... FLOWERS by Romantic Brothers is the Best situation song about politics, world and war. It kills my i-pod:)

  • americans are becoming blind fools but the chinese are also blind fools

  • OMG you cant be 100% serious!!! all those questions i would know the answer to!! im a college student in SF the real question is: where were those test answers taken from?! the boonies in mississippi ?

  • It was taken in Texas

  • those tests dont talk for all of america!!!! but i do understand china has better education..

  • Only HK, cause HK has democracy.

  • No, I live in SF,Ca and we have one of the most visible, biggest chinese population outside of china, and most of them are from HK? if they have it good in HK why storm here?

  • SF has had a Chinese community for sometime.

If you knew your recent history, you would realize that thousands left HK in 1997 with the takeover by China from Britain. Some probably came to SF. Also, numbers of people left HK over a period of years before 1997. Again, some came to SF.

Many people didn't have it good in HK which is one of the most populated urban environments on Earth.

No wonder they came to SF.

  • All of you are in denial.

The gross inequities in public education systems across the country has resulted in a population that has a mediocre- at best -education.

If you think that every American is educated, then you are truly stupid.

Just watch Jaywalking on The Tonight Show if you don't believe me.

  • denial? you CAN'T be serious ... i never denied our mediocre education system ..you just assumed i did ... and please don't use a TV show as a reliable reference cause the media holds no water... i DONT think every american is educated, i DO think those questions HE presented were idiot proof, as an AMERICAN, i can answer those questions, therefore NOT every is educated but some are ..

  • Actually, DeKrassel cited the Jaywalking segment as well and it is reliable as a simple visual demonstration of my point.

Also, I wasn't just refering to you. I said "all of you" meaning several posters.

It is irrelevent whether you can answer the questions. The point is that a number of high school students either couldn't or wouldn't.

By the way, brush up on your syntax. "Not every is educated" makes no sense and cut out the caps.

  • Again, denial.

Tests are a gauge of knowledge obtained and retained which is why they relied upon in educational systems.

If students put down the wrong answers-if they put down answers at all-it means they are incapable of retaining said knowledge or they aren't learning such facts.

Either way, the erosion of the American educational system has been a problem for years and shows no signs of stopping.

  • @MultiSmartass1 thanks for always replying tho, i think the education budget holders should do as much as we did with talking abou education LOL

  • Thanks.

I think a lot of people feel as you do but education viz-a-viz public schools has always been about providing an education that will enable the average American to be a worker-not a business owner or executive.

The function of education in this country is to provide a basic amount of knowledge that will allow someone to be hired. Nothing more.

The problem is that we confuse education with preparation. Not the same.

  • @MultiSmartass1 i believe in the education conspriacy theories, they want us dumb, keep the rich rich and the poor poor..

  • i completely agree

  • id say not all americans are that dumb

a lot in bad schools do not know shit, but if you say go to your typical sububrna high school or high school not in an intercity the grades are descent and i doubt the chinese know more american history. however what worries me is the amount of debt we are in and how long and what we can do to start being a leader in sales

  • @reppin49dank I agree. The U.S. government debt is going to screw every American over. I believe each American owe around 37k and that number is rising day by day.

  • @MixMeAdrink - 37K only in debt to china? no way.. it's more like 2.3 Billion per month in interest alone.. that equates to 8 Trillion of debt to China.. If you cut the total US GDP to 10% in repaying debt, it will still take 50 years to repay back all its debt to China... I think Americans should smart up and stop acting like an ignorant redneck

  • AGREED, We're not that stupid those questions weren't from the average american, any body i know in SF,Ca would know all of those answers..
