This is one of the best scenes in the movie. I can't look away, especially at 1:30 .

It just makes me think of the old Japanese tradition that one only cuts their hair when they are to leave their homeland and never return. It makes me think that a part of her knew that this decision could lead to her dying.

Mulan is a warrior not a housewife. Anyone brave enough to step on a battlefield and face death either from your enemy or the society is worthy of that honor. Also it's kind of AMAZING how the Chinese army can draft a man without checking his medical history. Really brutal and purely poetic that his daughter ends up fighting for him. This is the most epic moment in Disney history for me =)

This will always be my favorite scene out of the movie. And the music is absolutely beautiful. What I love about Mulan is that she doesn't need a hero to save her or make the decisions for her, she gives herself the right to be her own hero and do her own thing, having her own strength and self-confidence. All girls should watch this movie, especially while they're young. :)

The best heroine ever.

By the way, she cut her hair so easily while I need to concentrate while cutting my bangs and still mess up. She removed her thick makeup in Reflection scene in two wipes while I need to wash it repeatedly. She changed into dress in Real Men really fast even in hurry to save the emperor. She must consider to open a beauty house after retiring as a country savior. :|

I enjoy the tenderness expressed between her parents. Not a lot of Disney movies have older couples in a long-lived relationships (usually because most heroines' mothers have succumb to obscure-back-story-death-itis)­.

I'm proudly Chinese and LOVE Mulan. As in, love love love. Her amazing spirit and courage to do what was right in order to save her father, even though she knew very well she might be killed in battle. She loved him so much that she was willing to possibly give up her life for him in war. How many people would do the same nowadays?

@adambelfast1 Well, they did. But in the soundtrack (at least the one that I got) the music has been changed slightly. In this version there is the Synthesizer, but in the actual soundtrack they didn't use the Synthesizer. Which, I think is lame. I guess there's a special edition soundtrack that has this version (Synthesizer Version) though, so I'm gonna have to shop around for that.
