People do realize you can buy permanent magnet generators off of the Google shopping page right? They are used in everyday applications like your car, wind turbines, remote control cars, forklifts, etc. Magnetic generators work... we use them everyday. Shielding does not make this idea work. If you look at what a shield really is at the atomic level, it is just an array of magnetic poles that have some freedom of motion. Since it is already proved that no combination of motions of magnetic poles can create energy, the case with shielding is also proved.

If you want to prove this to yourself start your thinking with just one pole on the rotor and one on the stator. Notice that this simple machine is its own mirror image. This means that its torque vs angle curve is also a mirror image and thus must average to zero. When you add more poles, you add in more torque vs angle curves that all average to zero.

@jotacril there has been no "whole in gravity" observed on earth. one MIGHT exist in a black hole, but it looks like this wheel is not in a black hole. gravity has nothing to do with the wheel. the magnets simply store potential energy as they get closer, and release it in bursts instead of letting the wheel spin at a constant rate. this gives the illusion that the magnets are adding energy to the system. if the magnets were removed, the wheel would most likely spin for a longer period of time.
I think free energy is possible but in a very different way of physics..

Before you set out to build a machine to do this, I suggest you estimate the energy content in the field of the magnets you and buy, find the price of them, and compare with the energy and price of a D-cell flashlight battery.
Here are some numbers that you can start with:
A typical D-cell has about 5000 J of energy.

humans are the most efficient machine of all time... imagine if we had a machine that could get up, take a shower, drive itself to work, work all day, then go for an afternoon jog, then do whatever it is that people do.... and all on a few simple meals? thats incredibly efficient. and humans emit a great deal of energy by way of heat, too. but it does serve a purpose.

It does not work because it violates one of the laws of thermodynamics.
All devices that try to take advantage of a hole in gravity are called "unbalanced wheels".
These devices have been studied since the 11th century and none worked until now.

@jotacril there has been no "whole in gravity" observed on earth. one MIGHT exist in a black hole, but it looks like this wheel is not in a black hole. gravity has nothing to do with the wheel. the magnets simply store potential energy as they get closer, and release it in bursts instead of letting the wheel spin at a constant rate. this gives the illusion that the magnets are adding energy to the system. if the magnets were removed, the wheel would most likely spin for a longer period of time.
