    San Francisco

  • @keepcompletecontrol also notice how in the beginging hes trying to make the picture of a dead teddy fade , he didnt write anything, this is the end it went backwards , so yeah hes gonna find another John G and kill more although without any morale .

  • @keepcompletecontrol still though , did he have a pen , hm ? :o

  • so was lepnard sammy all along and it was he who killed his wife with insulin shots

  • @keepcompletecontrol : wait around to get killed by Dodd I guess. Driving someone to the edge of Los Angeles isn't exactly banishing them to Siberia :)

  • After seeing it so many times I got to understand this movie, the trick is see it in reverse

  • Im just using this to listen to the creatures commentary on this movie

  • It's a pity , he'll never know that the real John g died and that teddy an his wife are dead

  • frustrating, sad, clever, awesome movie.

And the best opening i have ever watched.

    Soundtrack is beautiful.

  • @faraway9222 uh, no. Because it's not.

  • @faraway9222 how dare you utter those 10 words!

  • @MichaelChapman18 haha ok i spoke a bit out of turn! It's just that, i was on acid (mild trip) this one time, and i was with a couple of friends, and we decided to turn on a movie. And we picked this one. And let me just say that there was literally no passage by which the opening scene could enter into my brain in a comprehensible way. So i laughed. I laughed and i laughed and i laughed. Couldn't stop. It was epic. We changed the movie so i still haven't seen it. I'll give it another look.

  • @faraway9222

    Are you retarded?

  • @MrKommienezuspadt I don't see where you are going with this, please explain.

  • @faraway9222

"can we agree that this is a terrible movie."

You can't see where I'm going with what I said? Are you retarded? I think I was pretty straightforward, or do you just not like it when everyone agrees your opinion is retarded?

  • @MrKommienezuspadt lol asshole chill out

  • I just read that the part where Teddy says "you freak" was actually dubbed by Chris Nolan impersonating Joe Pantoliano's voice because he didn't think Joe said that part well enough.

  • Stop saying this movie is better than Inception... Are there ANY similarities at all between the two movies other than Nolan? Fuck off then, watch both of them and a have good time:)

  • @nico2710 They both deal with the concept of the mind and a man recovering from the death of his wife

  • @a1b26600 Thats it?

  • This is such a phenomenal movie ... plz don't ever let it get taken off

  • The beggining alone makes the trailer look stupid. Know thats filmmaking!

  • So Chris Nolan directed a movie with a screenplay he wrote, based on a short story by his brother... cool.

  • After watching this movie, I hope there is a video player which can play reverse and let me watch again

  • Just a tip: if you don't want half the things in the movie spoiled, I suggest NOT reading the comments.

  • i dont get it but thats what makes it cool

  • beeping noise from 5:25-6:00 gives me the creeps

  • IT'S A BRILLIANT IDEA TO MAKE THE MOVIE BACKWARDS!!!!

(Because we are under the confusion of LENNY!!!!!!!!)

  • One of the most under rated movies ever! Everytime I watch it, I come away with a better understanding. So unconventional, yet so brilliant!

  • @blueshark281 Just ignore the twirp. He isn't worth paying attention to :)

  • One of the best intros ever

  • I like the little details, like Teddy has on his face just before Lenny kills the man he things is the murderer of his wife.

  • 240p we meet again

  • I feel sorry for Teddy knowing he died, after watching the movie fully and figuring out he was an actual cop, to my understanding atleast, ill have to rewatch this sometime, but he seems like a nice guy after realizing everything was actually the truth of what Teddy said

  • @MrSuperSmashed Gee thanks for ruining the ending, My bad for reading your lame comment, your bad even thinking it wise to post

  • @harta4j i assumed that most of the people here are people who have watched the movie already, why would you choose to watch this beautiful film the first time through youtube, well my bad anyways

  • @MrSuperSmashed

its free to watch on youtube

and no comp viruses from sketchy file sharing sites

  • I love this movie! It's original in it's own way and unfolds very nicely.

  • "You really need a system."

No, you really need a journal.

  • Don't get your Pantlianos in a bunch, Joe.

  • urgh, compressed badly, great film but teh suxor watching it here...

  • Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this film.

  • wait... is it supposed to be backwards?

  • @TheShowstoperrules that's the thing about this movie. B&W part moves forward whilst coloured part goes in the other direction...Such a masterpiece!!!!!

  • @TheShowstoperrules It's forwards and backwards, with b/w going one way, and color going the other. This is to simulate short term memory and not being able to retain stuff.

  • @TheShowstoperrules Some scenes are shown in reverse order to simulate Leonard's condition for the audience. You have no idea what just happened prior to the scene.

  • Sorry in the car not on.

  • If u listen closely to the radio while they are on the car you hear "Republican rhetoric about taxes". Lol!

  • @MrDndspoon hahaha gr8 find.

  • this is my 3rd time of watching this and i always think i get it, until i find out things i've forgotten, dam christopher nolan for making dam good films that fuck up our heads!

  • The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever. Inception was amazing.

Now i watch this Nolan Movie and i think it'S great too

  • the only thing i dislike about the movie is the bloody picture at the start

  • @blueshark281 why?

  • @jediclam i just feel squemish looking at it which is strange since i love saw

  • @blueshark281 you're a pussy.

  • @jediclam not really when im ill downed a curry and have been sick in the last ten minutes. why are you trolling me because theres something that i dislike about a move?

  • @blueshark281 because you are bitching about a fucking picture. grow a pair of balls dude.

  • @jediclam im not bitchin all i said was i don't like something and that was it ever heard of something called freedom of speech i voiced my opinion im sorry if that was so wrong but dont troll me because i dislike something i havn't gone out of my way to offend you so why are you doing it to me

  • @blueshark281 cuz u are being a little pussy and no one cares about your opinion.

  • @jediclam so any body who has a brain and has an opinion that blood stained walls and floor makes them feel squemish are pussy's?

  • @blueshark281 no just u cuz ur a fucking retard.

  • @jediclam i have an IQ of 140 so no im not retarded

  • @blueshark281 boasting iqs is cheap man, just let him be and don't reply to moronic threads ;)

  • what a good start to a movie :)

  • I need some bad boys :)

  • all of you that have watched this movie. watch "code geass" its an anime, i believe it to be one of the most genius things ive ever seen or experienced in life haha but i havent watched this movie yet. haha but code geass is 50 episodes i watched it in 2 days and i couldn't stop, i slept next to my laptop so i could resume watching immediately the next day

  • @TheTheswaggera so many scene are stolen from gundam seed in that

  • @anessone is gundam seed a good anime? i never cared to watch it but would you suggest it, if so why is it good? right now i'm watching full metal alchemist but i am going to need one to watch after that

  • but the makers of code geass stole ideas from death not and gundam seed it seemed to me but i didn't care because it was still so great. two of my brothers also watch anime and the've seen death note and code geass all three of us agree that code geass is better although death note is more mature and for code geass my older brother who's 21 said that code geass seems dumb at first and isn't that great until r2 and the end of r1 but we all still agree that code geass is better overall

  • Christopher Nolan! I love you!

  • nolan you are the savior of movies

inception, memento, batman begins, the dark knight they are my favorite movies and they are all yours (:

  • after watching this, I feel like I should replay again and again because I don't remember watching it.

  • Both hindi and tamil is copy of this one..

  • holy mindfuck

  • What is floydrose 1969??? What is the purpose of that in this movie??

  • I get it now lol

  • Why is he shaving his legs? Faggot haha

  • Yes, this Nolan's best movie! : )

  • This is Nolan's best.

  • 3:48 - LOL, those bullets have already been shot.

  • Christopher Nolan is incredible!

  • Christophor Nolan makes wacky movies

  • Aaron Eckhart masterfully portrayed Harvey Dent, but I admit I was more excited when I heard that Guy Pearce potentially had the role. I think he would have done it just as well.

  • Best of British film making!

  • The color scenes are going backwards, the black&white scenes are going forward. It's not confusing folks.

  • @Sash5034 it is when ur high

  • what ever happen to the main actor in this film?? Never heard from him again

  • @LTV999 Guy Pearce. He's been in several movies, most notably The King's Speech.

  • @LTV999 hell no! he's in an assload of good films.google him LT.

  • @LTV999 guy pearce was in some well known movies like LA Confidential, but yeah he hasn't been on the American scene enough lately.

  • This movie is a little confusing at first, just keep watching and you'll find it easy to follow in no time.

God I just adore this movie! It's shot beautifully, every shot is magnificent, the story is so original and interesting and so clever. This movie keeps you thinking and guessing, I love it to bits!!

Chris Nolan is a genius, I love him!

  • LENNY!!!!!..

  • 2:12 and 9:01 "LENNY!"

I don't know why, but i find that so funny

  • @Kritickos cant help but think of mice and men

  • my name is nolan :D irl it really is

  • @churchdudeman

Well, you should also add the butterfly effect...

  • this is my first time watching. i got confused. hmm guess ima keep watching it.

  • i just threw up

  • BEST IDEA EVER.

    Inception Memento-style.

Someone make that, and show it to a friend who never watched Inception or memento, and watch their brain explode.

  • I found an older camera, same model, up in the attic... I nearly broke it trying to open it

  • Just saw the lst 3/4ths of this movie didn't get shit.. So i'm looking at this part..

  • PLZ THE BEST MOVIE OMG U CRAZY

  • Best movie of all time. Well, at least I thought so after seeing it.

Can anyone tell me about more movies like this? Movies like Memento, The Prestige, The Illusionist, etc...

    Movies that make you think?

  • @fluff125 so like...have u seen inception..?

  • @fluff125 Movies that make you think? Well some are Inception, Shutter Island, Fight Club, Insomnia, The Usual Suspects and others I am not remembering. You've already listed some of the greats like Memento and Prestige so its hard for me to list.

  • Every Christopher Nolan film is outstanding, some like The Dark Knight, Memento and Inception are even masterpieces that should be seen by everyone.

  • this movie has been mentioned in two of my college psych textbooks (abnormal psych class and cognitive) .. nice work nolan!

  • the music in the beginning is so... melagholic.. :-( hope its a nice movie

  • Thumbs up if you had to watch the first part 2 times!

  • @kkonstantinosss2 No you're just spastic.

  • There are no dislikes on this video.

  • You saved my life!!! I needed to see this movie for my college psych class!!!

    Thanks so much!!!!! :D

  • Thank you for posting the whole movie, i have to watch it for a college essay and never saw it and can't find it anywhere in store cuz its sooooo old. Now i don't have to rent it from the college library. They would only let me have it for 3 hours XD

  • ****SPOILER ALERT**** To make sense of the order in this movie: the colored parts go backward, but the black and white parts go in chronological order. It's confusing at first but it makes more sense as it goes on.

  • Teddy = Sid The Sloth from Ice Age xD

  • i just realised a flawe in the whole movie if he forgets every thing every 10 mins how did he remember the guy in the morning and the hunch he had about the place at the start of the film. never noticed that before but i love the film even though the writers fuck up

  • @steviesuperstar He said something about instinct or something related to it while he talked to the officer, right?

    Hmm, but that is true...

  • im having a little bit of trouble following the sequence of events but its good so far.

  • @justanameyo watch the film and it'll make sense

  • @Smallvillenerd uh well i did. since my comment was from one month ago but thanks anyway.

  • the video won't play past 3:29 for me :-\

  • He's a pyscho.

  • Chris Nolan's first feature film

  • @mrkhamaileon no acuttly the following is his first but this is his best

  • that you so much! you are a good person!

  • I love Christopher Nolans films, from The Prestige The Dark Knight and Inception, but honestly i don't think he'll ever come close to topping Memento. imo.

  • its ralph cifaretto haha

  • so do we ever find out who raped lennys wife and beat him over the head? I dont think the movie answers this question definitely. might be missing something

  • why is this video looping, last 2 mins is the same as the beginning of the movie.

  • @KingRockets lol... have you never seen this movie? its not looping this is how to movie was made, it starts at the end and goes backwards throughout the entire film. the ''looping'' is so the spectator can make some sense of the clips.

  • It must be pretty hard to spoil this movie's ending...

  • @AlexiaCarcera LMAO

  • Imagine this guy trying to watch Memento, he'd get so fucking lost

  • genuis film

  • Great movie

  • First ten minutes of the movie and I'm already liking it. Damn, Nolan is a genius!

    Inception was absolutely amazing.

  • @seinfan9 ahhhh i JUST watched inception tonight and loved it!! So refreshing to see an original screenplay lol

  • @seinfan9 how is this at all related from inception?

  • @azncoolz same director

  • @seinfan9 Inception is sort of like Memento 2.0.

  • @seinfan9 This is better than inception.

  • @seinfan9 this is a much better movie than inception

  • @fightinside1 it might be better but saying its "much" better is a little exaggerated. you should give Inception a little more credit its made by the same guy who made this masterpiece

  • @LukaszPrzek I'm with you. Although this film is one of my favourites, its not as good as inception in my opinion. That film ticked all the boxes for what I like in a movie. Best of all there weren't any cheesy moments. Good thing it was Nolan directing and not Micheal Bay :P But yeah this movie is epic also!!!

  • @seinfan9 inception is crap compared to a masterpeice like memento, so dont fucking mention that peice of shit movie inception in a memento video.... your insulting memento. and chris nolan should be fucking ashamed to attach his name to inception. pointless silly dream jumping used as a setup for pointless action sequences.

  • @malows1234 Is that it? Want to vent some more? Please do so as I'm sure we'd all love to see your personal problems unfold right here in the comments section.

  • @MyNameIsKhan64 dude i love ur screenname..i still have yet to ee that movie someone shuld deff upload it wit eng subtitles

  • Great flick. I really enjoyed the mystery/puzzle aspect and trying to put things together in a backwards fashion. Never seen a story do it quite this way before. It was a nice brain teaser, and really draws you in after the first 15 mins or so. Guy Pearce's acting is superb in this. He really carries the whole damned movie almost all by himself. The ending was not what I expected or hoped for, but then I like stories that have twists and surprises at the end. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for this, will definitely buy on DVD now

  • thanks! i really wanted to watch this : )

  • thankyou bro if this movie turns out well i'll dfinitely buy it on dvd.

  • @300daysandnights

Buy it, it's one of the best films of the decade.

  • @degree7

    of all time

  • @degree7 If we go by 2000-2009. I agree.

City of God is my number 1. Oldboy my number 2. And Memento right after at 3....Then you got Inglorious Basterd, Lives of the others was sick too. I like Snatch too, but it ain't a really "best of decade kind of movie".
