Don't remember which video but I did see a supra with 2600 hp does anyone know what video it is I also seen a lsx camaro over 3100 riced out hp in japan creepyyyyy!!!!
@Braulioc17 both while the supra gets built more here in the states i have so much love and respect for the GT-R34. I mean come on...the mine's GT-R 34 is so un-godly fast.
@williamchop very true bro, i saw the video they posted vs the supra. Killed it. :D
i dont know how i feel about both of them, i feel like the supra is sexy from behind, and the skyline is sexy but faster. LMAO. im confusing myself. :p
Absolutely love what AMS is up to. They are obviously on the front page of R35 tuning and quite a force to be reconed with. I'm thoroughly impressed, I was blown away by the Alpha 9, I hadn't even realized that an Alpha 10 and 12 had been in the works. Keep up the great work, my dream car used to be a 430 Scuderia, but AMS has just taken the pole position in my book.
@theIDKer The number from this dyno competition is not an accurate indicator of the Alpha 12's full potential. Like it was stated, the car would lose traction on the rollers and did so abruptly. The Alpha 10 was putting down 980 whp on the AMS Mustang dyno when it ran the 9.19@163mph. The Alpha 12 put down 1118 whp and is still undergoing revisions and not yet at full potential.
The number of power from the last dyno for the Alpha 10 was 1165 bhp. That is more horses than what you saw in this. If it is still undergoing revisions, let it be 1200. This is rather disappointing and SwitzerPerf are working on a 1000 hp car that may run into the 8s in the quarter mile so AMS isn't showing their biggest threat or otherwise, not doing their best. The 12 may not be street legal anyway
@theIDKer Whats there to be disappointed with? You are comparing estimated brake horsepower with wheel horsepower. The 1069whp the Alpha 12 posted on the Dyno Dynamics was with the wheel slipping and is wheel horsepower. Take into account drivetrain loss and this car is over 1200bhp. We are shooting for 1200whp with the Alpha 12 right now, which will make the car closer to 1400bhp. And yes, the car is street legal and was designed to be street legal.
AMS was not the one strapping the car down for this event. As in the the first run, we have seen our 1000+ whp cars shift laterally like this on our Mustang and Dynojet dynos back at the shop. That's using 8 straps anchored to concrete - 4 of which are cross-strapped. The Dyno Dynamics was a little different. I believe it was advertised not to slip and has anchor points to the platform and behind the front wheels. We noticed that stability was a problem and pulled the car after the 2nd run.
@mrboss626 im a tuner myself i own a 1200hp 93 supra. i have been tuning for 8 years and many more to come. you can ask any tuner that has common sense. if you wana keep your car on the dyno with out moving at all except 4 inches forward wile in boost, then strap down the front ......X......
@mrboss626 you never do a pull from 1st or 2nd bc they dont show real power. each car had its own different power band. once you get into 3rd or 4th gear your wheel speed reaches over 100mph. Do some research, and yea i see the straps behind the front tires you can so that for extra protection but you have to cross them facing forward. if you do that the car will not move side to side like it does in the video. Its common sense. im not going to argue with you.
@mrBOSS626 Are you retarded well the ppl in the video are. No matter what vehicle you dyno should have straps on the front CROSSED so it doesn't go side to side like it did at the end of the first pull. Thats the easiest way to total a car, falling off the dyno. Soon they will have a video of this car doing it if they dont start strapping it down the right way. All it takes is a little bump of that steering wheel and its falling off. There isn't no bringing it back if your wheel speed over 100
@Marshmallowrex more like 4wd is for pussy geters....and your also making fun of AMS if you didnt know the gtr is awd....and fuck FWD theres no point in thats stupid shit....you cant do any thing with FWD but go straight....its either RWD or AWD
There's a lot more to making big power than just throwing some large turbos at an engine and cranking up the boost.... there would be hundreds of 1000+ hp GTRs, and all sorts of other cars, on the streets if this was so. Turbos HELP, they dont CREATE! These cars that AMS builds are torn down, and re-engineered to run like this without losing any driveability.
@Marshmallowrex shops like this dont waist thre time makeing parts for rice.........there are millions of honda parts outthere thats why AMS is #1..................RICE free...!!
Also bear in mind that having poor grip on dyno or street means that tires cannot keep up with power... so power (or rather torque as correctly said) will not make you fast... maybe spectacular due to tire smoke.
Also remember that peak power is proof of potential top speed - again depends on your definition of fast. Acceleration does not have anything to do with peak power, but purely with torque along entire RPM band.
It is not faster - it is more powerful. Unfortunatelly, fast is not exactly the same as powerful. Someone who knows what a turn means and how much weight and suspension means will know it. Those cars lose heavily on tight turn courses for simple reason of being heavy (even though GT-R has great suspension setup out of the box).
There are a lot of chevy and Fords that run 8's and faster in the quartermile and are still street legal. Yes the GTR is a great car but to say the other companies can't keep up is just a wrong statement to say. There will always be some one faster.
So much technology! so much power! so much engineering!! so much perfection!!! ... GM and Ford can only dream of making a car with the GT-R's potential
@kg35tt that was only the preliminary run and AMS says the car isn't dialed into its full potential yet. Keep in mind that the wheels were slipping on the dyno so 1,065awhp is probably an undercut reading. Rest assured it'll pass in the 8's.
@xbrunovudux He would destroy most of those drag week cars on the street. On the strip obviously they would do better because they are set up for drag racing as well as make more power than he does.
With such a big wheel(s), Common Sense says it will take longer to fully spool. Not a bad thing, at all, an expected attribute with such big turbos.
The "very peaky" powerband is an acceptable "loss" if the big wheels that cause the "very peaky" powerband are able to make these numbers. It was 100% purposeful, its not like AMS set out for ultimate powerband with the A12, lol. They have other stages for that.
@eeeen321 agree to disagree,The wheels is not the issue here. an yes, this car has its purpose, which is making big numbers on a dyno. don't know if u can read a dyno sheet, but its making 300hp or less up till 85mph, you can do the math to see what rpm that is. and by 90-95mph it's making a 1000. that fast transition obviously means wheel spin. especially on the street. It wont be surprising if a 800-900 hp car with a wide powerband, takes this out on the street or track. a dyno is just a tool.
@FourG6397GST Like I said, It was 100% purposeful, its not like AMS set out for ultimate powerband with the A12, lol. They have other stages for that.
- AMS is really good at making a broad powerband, when they are aiming for that goal, which this is absolutely not aimed at; and the A12 was not just made to make big numbers on a dyno, just wait.
-When AMS builds an R35 for ultimate power, to just make "big numbers on a dyno" ... you will know.
@FourG6397GST and yea, I would mainly blame the size/mass of the exhaust wheels for causing the "peaky" powerband ... as well as the main reason it is able to make so much power.
@eeeen321 ahh thought you were talking about wheels as is wheel/tires. you're right then. turbo selection is the main cause here. not the best choice imo, but the choice shined on this dyno.
@FourG6397GST You thought I meant "wheels" as in wheels/tires? ... where is your head at? lol
and no the turbos are PURPOSEFUL, smaller turbos would choke out at the top where this thing is able to make massive power. Without these large turbos(exhaust "wheels"), it would not be able to make near 1100awhp... and like I said, when AMS makes a "dyno queen" GTR, you will know. This is not it.
