@MrsWeena The national language is Dutch, however everybody can speak English as it's also thought as a primary language. Typical education in Holland you learn : Dutch, English, German and France up till the 3rd year; where you have to make a choice between continuing either French or German. The higher the education level, the more languages you are required to learn.

Need *Help* i,m using mac OSX with the Camileo s10 to upload the vids, they register as .AVI files on mac with no visual or sound, converted to.mov i have picture but still no sound, sound is on the camcorder and on camcorder when playbacked...any ideas?

EVERY single video i have seen of the s10 or p10 is so strobey... the motion is not gppd on this camera obviously

Depending on your needs, you could simply use

virtualdub, and something like Audiocity

to add / mix sound.

and it is shaky cause it size....as smallest and small weighth the most shaky it is cause you can move it really easily and you hand shakes like you dont hold anything

as long as the bitrate the standard playback is crunky if you put it in a editing software and hange the bitrate to 29 or 24 or 25 the quality is great,,,,i was dissapointed but solved the problem dont put down your hopes it is a good camera in it;s price

The stabalizer slows the image input instead of filtering out. I have one of these cameras. It's terrible. Have you gotten the burn spots yet? They're annoying little white spots where the image captor shorts out. I have two -- two for two months of ownership. I'm trying to return the thing.

I think if you film nature only... it would a great camera cuz' you don't have to move much... but for little clips/films it's bad as hell... I think I would return that thing and buy something good even though it's a little more expensive.

As you can see yourself in the low-light evening shots. Every lightsource is a big flare.

As such it is NOT recommend for live music events unless their in the daytime.

The sound quality is "OK" nothing special.

To be honest, I think the Nikon D90 (720p) offers a better video quality.

Well that's pretty obvious that the D90 offers better video quality because the lenses are a billion times better than the dinky plastic lenses of *any* cheap compact camcorder

You cannot compare them because they are in a totally different price/device

The D90 is a dedicacted DSLR which just happened to have a function to record the live view in MJPG,is bulky to carry around where as S10 is meant to be carried around at all times for snapshot video moments and are meant to be very cheap.

Have you tried messing with the low-light /exposure settings for dark shots? That flare looks pretty extreme.

Im having a really hard time deciding between this camera and the flip ultra HD. The resolution on the s10 is noticeably better. On the other hand there seems to be a jerkiness in the s10's motion which might be a framerate problem? Then again, things close up on the flip go out of focus, where the s10 has another level of focus that gets an incredible level of detail on close-ups.

Yes , being a photographer as a part time job I'm using to messing around with exposure settings etc., but there honestly is pretty much nothing to set on the S10. EV balance can be set to +1 and -1 that's it. It won't save you in the dark, neither will it's flashlight as it has litarly a 30 cm range.

Plus, every time you turn it off and on again ( to save power as you walk) custom settings are erased ! They may have fixed that in a new FW tough ? If its user upgradable even.

Seeing as the battery is removable i'm sure you can get some spare batteries for it. Not that you'd want since the battery life supposedly is pretty good at 4 hours of recording time. That's more than enough for daily usage.

What do you mean when you say that the S10 doesn't like fast panning? Does the video frame-rate jitter due to fast changing on the captured images? That usually happens when the recording equipment doesn't have enough processing power to cope with sudden changes on the filmed image

Glad the video helped you out, if your getting it the things I can recommend as far as practical tips go is to *SLOWLY* pan around , the S10 doesn't like fast motion

Aside from that I haven't yet returned the S10.

I have a 2 week grace period from the store when it's concerning the fact of returning it so I'll give it another chance.

I read your blog review gwenster, there is no way the Flip HD beats the camileo in terms of video quality. Your video here is exquisitely detailed for a camera the price of the S10. It has a larger storage capacity than the flip, has an optical as opposed to digital zoom etc. Both Flip and S10 would be crap in low light. The flip has no image stabilisation etc. I'd keep the camileo if I were you, I've ordered mine on the strength of your video here!!

The audio quality is decent.

The mic does a good job picking up people from around 2-3 metres away if they just talk clearly.

It was very windy when I took it out for a spin so obviously alot of sound was obscured as wind kept blowing across the mic.

According to the manual the battery life is sufficient for four hours of recording.
