  • Thumbs up if you saw the perpetual motion machine.

  • @hjrnz

This BS (Brilliant Satire) Is not relevant, it's Funny!

  • I love how the helpful bullets aren't explained at all.

  • how is this BS relevant

  • Ow, from the picture I thought it was gonna be an 11th Doctor spoof.

A stetson and a bowtie... come on!?

(yes, I didn't see the date...)

  • The way he shouts "NOOOOO" Just has me in stitches everytime.

  • I love David's American accent. It sounds so good! There were only a few words where a bit of the old Oxford seeped through.

  • @CNixx44 Really? Sorry, but sucking up to David Mitchell on a YouTube comments board won't get you invited to his next dinner party.

  • @pucksdad Perhaps afternoon tea then?

  • @ih8regs Only if you have his likeness tattooed on your knee.

  • bet mitchell LOVED playing this part

  • I'd love to know just how the bullets are helpful. I like to think that they somehow cause the mind to think more clearly when they hit you in the face.

*BANG* OW! That really hurt...but on the other hand I should definately invest in stem cell research before Tuesday 30th...

  • David mitchell makes a good early 1900's US president.

  • I like how the car is covered in american symbols but the insignia of the crown and sword represents the London District of the British Army

  • @russenberger where is the crown & sword?

  • @championofcathay its on the left hand side of the car and under the American flag

  • @russenberger Oh yeah you're right

  • The sting...fires helpful bullets!

    What?

  • @darwinsfinches that's what i thought

  • NOOOOOO! It is intended to help mankind not destroy it!

  • Oh man so brilliant

  • webb reminds me of john malkovich in this sketch.

  • Now we know how The Event began...funny story really

REMAIN INDOORS REMAIN INDOORS REMAIN INDOORS

  • I use the phrase "forgive me" when I'm actually apologizing because I regret a wrongdoing I did. If I have to say "forgive me" before or during an act I regret doing, I don't do it.

  • Are they trying to do an American accent?

  • @SteinaIcelander nope i think it is an Albanian accent

  • Helpful bullets xD

  • @Orca40 That comment was lamer than FDR's legs!

Unless you mean Teddy Roosevelt, in which case, your comment is perplexing. Teddy Roosevelt was spry enough to bend himself into a donut, tightrope over allegators, and defeat ninjas in single combat.

  • might be coz i had 3 strong coffees and 2 energy drinks and am hyper, but i couldn't stop laughing at this for ages afterwards and i know that if i see a melon in the next year or two, i'll start laughing hysterically again! melon of doom!!!!

  • Having played Gary's Mod for too long, I sympathise with Dr Death.

  • If my local convenience store were manned by that scorpion, I would be looking for an excuse to go buy something about every 10 minutes.

  • Don't let Gallagher see how this sketch ends, he might sue!

  • @JoeDixon then we will just shove some doom melons in his act one day problem solved ... when the work on them is finished of course

  • nooo the doom melon!! still needs some work....

  • "Ja, I got your number!"

Hilarious! I did a project in my social psychology class using Mitchell and Webb sketches and this was one of them.

  • Helpful bullets.

  • NOOOOOO!! *CLANK* *CLANK* *CLANK*

  • It needs a bit of tweaking Rob.

Your Deathray always steadfastly refuses to read the barcode on my Cadburys creme egg.

  • i love their accents in this:Dx

  • Funny as hell these guys!!

  • is this making fun of tesla??? he was amazing..

  • @TheKarlez i think they are just making fun of all movies where scientist invent somthing incredebly destruktive and is then suprised that it's used for evil :)

  • @Simonpacman91 SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!

  • @TheKarlez yeah i think it is.... he was amazing too, my hero

  • @TheKarlez It is actually, yes (I wrote it). Not making fun of him because he was amazing, but yeah the whole "mad scientist" legacy built around him.

  • i love the fakeness of the cloth

  • is this from a film if not how do i see more

  • @1000000volts Its from the BBC Sketch Comedy show The Mitchell & Webb Look - I think there are 3 series now :)

  • I love that he thinks hitting it with a hammer will destroy it, except of course for the doom melon! :)

  • David's American accent is probably the funniest part of the whole sketch.

  • i created the laser mounted armored scorpion of death to help mankind, not destroy it!

  • As if these guys couldn't realise this was what it was designed for . GENIOUS!

  • I am DEATH RAY!!! thumbs up if this

cmmnt made u look at my name;-)

  • Inadvertent(?) Tesla parody!

My particle beam generator was meant to transmit electric power across oceans, or perhaps communicate with men on distant planets. The ability to chop entire invading armies and aircraft in half is an accidental side effect. (And don't even think of mounting it on my Giant Man-shaped Self-Guided Building Demolition Automaton.)

  • @wbeaty Spot on! Totally advertent tribute (I wrote the sketch). Poor Nikolai.

  • @simonkane Heh!

I've used my Farm Animal Remote Gelding Resonator to destroy my own sexuality, now leave me in peace, lest I also destroy *yours.*

  • I love David Mitchell's American accent.

  • Prof Death sounds like a mix of James Mason/Michael York and a generic "foreign" mad professor! :-)

  • Nikola Tesla !

  • He called the Doom Melon after his wife.

  • Comment removed

  • Tut tut. Always looking for the military uses. Whyever would they imagine that something called the Giant Death Ray would be designed as a weapon? Obviously, it's a tool to enable checkouts to run more smoothly.

  • NO, NOT THE DOOM MELON!!

  • LMAO! I must have watched this 10 times. Too good!

  • Fires Helpful bullets [Daka Daka Daka!] Wow, that was helpful.

  • James Bachman is very good at the American accent. David, not so much.

  • @slashingraven So THAT'S what Harry Biscuit looks like!

  • The Doom Melon!!!

  • ... still needs more work.

  • @PrimeFletcherFish it still need some work!

  • @PrimeFletcherFish It still needs some work.

  • @PrimeFletcherFish

    ...still needs some work

  • Helpful bullets .. heh.

  • it's Leonard de Quirm!

  • @abrelosojo indeed!

  • BWAH HA HA HA!!! Oh my gosh, that just made my day.

  • One question that obviously leaps to mind, professor Death, is why on EARTH you elected to name this contraption of yours, the GIANT DEATH R... oh, I see.

LOL! I figured it oiut at exactly the same time as the character did xD

  • @mr0buch Its one of the best examples of comedic timing ever. They should have ended the skit right there, or at least broken it up at that point and continued after.

  • This one was too good.

  • cool

  • LMFAO

  • Is Webb referencing Michael York in how he's talking? Or am I just imagining it? XD

  • This is comedy gold :)

  • ZOMBIE FILM! Risingofthedeceased
