  • Jesus, where the hell have these guys been... I was looking at Soilwork on Wiki and stumbled across Scarve. This is BRUTAL!!! Can't wait for the new album...

  • @magnusxxx The band splitted in 2008, sorry, no more album from their part :(

  • No words to describe them but. Sick and Metal!

  • one of the best bands these days, from "Translucence" to "The Undecurrent just pure quality cds

  • Damn i missed the like button!! And then i made 5 other acounts and miss-clicked , rly sorry! This is awsome!

  • FUCK YEAH

  • silly video. fucking fun band though, jeez!

  • excellent ce groupe comme quoi il n'ya pas que de la merde en matière de metal en france

  • Shit those guys can sing!

  • The sound at the start reminded me of the first alien film.

  • Metal machine! \mm/

  • lol this is kind of funny and brutal at the same time

  • SCARVE IS AMAZING!!!

    one of my fave bands

wish they could perform at one of my future shows <3 \m/

  • yea dude those melodic vocals yea no

  • It's spelled ScarVE not scarF you dumbfuck. And they're not native English speakers anyway so it most likely wouldn't have anything to do with a scarf.

  • yeah thats you, a fucking retard.

  • kopitejake87 well said! lol

  • @SexyTriggerMan omg this is the dumbest thing i ever heard in a long time, how can you even compare them, scarve is on a totally different level and play a completely different style, listen to a whole album of them and tell me if you still think that way,Log is cool but seriously scarve is much better in every musical aspect.....

  • Basically this is death metal with some thrash, groove and industrial elements and some technical death metal tricks too, so it's kinda similar to SYL. If you have to label it then call it extreme metal or modern death metal. Or you can just forget about the label and enjoy the music.

  • Who gives two fucks what it's labeled as? It's fucking heavy.

  • guys relax we dont have to name anything. many good bands have their own labels. This is a kind of death. Maybe it has something to do with melocid death but its not

  • Whateverz, its still not really proper death metal.. Growls too highly pitched.

  • Seriously even the gory death metal band Autopsy had a higher pitch of growl like check out Death dude. Jeez if anything it's all these modern "guttural" bands that think just because they growl so low that makes them a good death metal band (a word to upcoming death metal acts: you won't get any more "metal-points" [who's counting anyway?] for making your logo completely indecipherable)

  • Like I said, eh, whateverz.

  • @explodefaceman - shhhhhhhhhhush up and listen to this amazing band Scarve instead of sperming words that just don't make sense and seriously get put down.

  • @snakeskinsaddle - dude i was actually trying to point out the folly of trying to say this band isn't "proper death metal" because of the growls, that's just dumb because growls don't define death metal

  • @explodefaceman yeah you re right but scarve isnt one of those bands, they re not focused on brutality, they re sense of writing unique melodies is what makes them stand out of the masses of lame metal bands

  • not really.. o.o its more like, general Death Metal with a hint of melodiousnessish stuff... <.<

  • oh I know that, but its not 'technical death metal' either. More like.. slightly heavier dark tranquility

  • When you've sampled enough deathcore as I have, it gets a bit annoying.. but yeah, songs pretty decent, the singing bit was unexpectedly good too.

  • Such an awful video..

But have always liked Scarve since I first heard them.. Such chaos they are able to create! Amazing

  • Legend

  • ARRGH! breakdown D:

  • they are french arent they?

  • Such a great band...

  • wow when did this come out..

  • there are so many bands out there that are under rated that are better then most bands in mainstream...

  • Dirk is a awesome drummer

  • if you people like this, check out mnemic, not as brutal but this bands vocalist is part of both bands.

  • Comment removed

  • Epic band..reminds me a little of gojira, which is also one very intense band O_O

  • What the fuck have I been missing?

  • scarve? :D

  • Obviously so. It's a shame these guys aren't that well known.

  • yes indeed. im looking for underground stuff all the time so i find a lots of great stuff :D this is great

  • It is from the album Luminiferous (ç).

  • which albums does this one comes from? i have irrdiant and the undercurrent. neither in those 2 it is in

  • Luminiferous, mate. :P

  • Woah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell is this, and why the fuck have I been missing on it?!!!!

Amazing, simply amazing. First time I've ever heard this, and from minute one I was blown the fuck away. Need to find me more about this band.

Fuck, can you find excellent metal on Youtube after all or what?!!

  • Check out Irradiant, I reckon it's their best album.

  • check out Soilwork if you haven't already.

  • EPIC band.

  • A-G-R-E-E-D

  • is that a guitar tuning?? jk lol

  • NATO SHIT! Isn't one of these guys now the vocalist for Mnemic or have i gotten mixed up?

    Sweet song anyway :)

  • exactly my friend, and he also played in a band called "the cube", but it was more fusion

  • This s fucking awsome! GREAT GREAT music.

  • Dirk Verbeuren!! .!..!

A total joy to see him blast beating

  • they are technical death, thrash metal

  • I see all this talk about industrial; I don't remember hearing KMFDM in this song.

  • Scarve plays Technical and progressive, thats not industrial.

  • Scarve does not play Progressive.

  • ooooh this is my first listen to these guys, i dont mind what i hear, what genre is this??

  • metal

  • well thanks for the obvious, i meant what genre of metal

  • Pretty sure it's industrial... might be wrong though.

  • no worrys thanks

  • industrial is a variation of techno so im pretty sure you're wrong

  • industrial is no where's near techno..go back to the 60's and 70's for that shit..industrial is like Rammstein..Fear Factory..well those are the only two prevalent bands i can think of right now..lol

  • ministry, kmfdm,skinny puppy

  • When he said Industrial, he likely meant 'Industrial Metal' totally different.

And as for their genre, it's been referred to as both:

    Industrial Death/Thrash Metal

    and

    Technical Death/Thrash Metal

  • Yeah and he left the band...

  • is he the same guy from the band mnemic?

  • yep

  • INTELIGENT MUSIC. \,,/

  • it's a very goord friends to my onle (the guitarist) so scuse me for the englis becuse i leave in frence :d

  • Europe = Black Sabbath, Anaal Nathrahk, Carcass, Iron Maiden, Scarve, Rammstein.

    Need I say more?

(You fucking dare mention BFMV or BMTH, thats not fucking metal)

  • Yes, Gojira :)

  • Oh yeah ;)

    And Electric Wizard.

  • I fail to see the point... even if Black Sabbath is one of my favorite bands, next to Pantera. I mean, fuck, Brazil even has some good shit( Sepultura)

  • What the fuck are you on about? There was an argument about Euro/American metal.

    Learn to read before posting.

  • Excellent, that is what I assumed it was about.

Lamb Of God, Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer... Black Sabbath was influenced by American Blues... should I go on?

  • So they were influenced, they still CREATED it.

  • Indeed, they did. As I said, they are one of my favorite bands. I own all their albums... even if they started to suck once Ozzy left.

My point remains, no one region on earth has the "best" metal. It is idiotic to base what you will listen to on the region they come from...

though I can't believe while mentioning awesome Europe bands, you missed Old In Flames and Motorhead.

  • Would you rather I listed every European band?

Anyway, it IS idiotic to base the music one listens to on region alone. My reply was proof that great bands don't ONLY come from America (As was implied, if not stated, in an earlier comment).

  • Indeed, they don't... and sounds like you got troll'd sir

  • Not really.

  • I would say yes. Metal Head are a favorite of Trolls.

  • Does it really matter?

  • Yes, you are giving them what they want... Just givin you heads up, you're bein played man...

  • Meh. It's all entertainment to me.

  • This song and video are fucking good, they really seem to be crazy !

  • best french metal band ever (and i dont say that because im french) and one of the best band in the world, im so sad that dirk, guillaume and pierrick left the band, above for dirk to go make shits in soilwork :(

  • reminds me a little of sikth, sick playing and two vocalists. clean, melodic vocals asswell as screams and growls.

  • SHIT!!! DIRK LOOKS FUCKING YOUNG!

  • gosh i am going to get an album from this band...at the end europe have very good bands

  • just happens to be that europe kicks usa:s ass 10-0 in bands, theres not much good stuff from the yanks anymore.

  • agree'd europe created metal, and we perfected it and we rule it :)

  • ha ha wtf mate! just cuz your bin educated in your own country and know everything about your own country dont show your ignorance about other countries okay?

  • great band

  • fuck. no. just.. no. absolutely not. the stuff he does in scarve is mind-blowing, while his drumming for soilwork is little else than basic metalcore schtick.

  • Agreed

    I

    I

    V

  • oh god, two singers? rubbish :/

  • pretty good.

  • wow i love michael/mnemic, and hate guillame on the new mnemic cd. alot too. but wow he sounded awesome in scarve!!! wtf?

  • man this sucks.Michael was god in mnemic and guillame at scarve why the hell is this happening

  • Couldnt agree more. I loved their vocals in their original bands. This new change is for the worst. Michael left for 'family reasons' tho, so i guess there was no stopping that.

  • Love this song

  • fuckin' great and funny^^! But Guilame's voc's were better in Scarve. But in my opinion, Mnemic is/was better then Scarve - especially with Michael Bogballe :(

  • Scarve are better musicians than Mnemic but Mnemic are far SUPERIOR songwriters. And the vocals in Mnemic completely own Scarve's - with Michael or Guillaume.

  • I guess everyone has opinions. Scarve are all good players. However its not THAT technical. Mnemic tunes are all filled with polyrhyhtms and very strange timings. I dunno, to me that makes Mnemic better musicians in my eyes.

  • Theres no polyrythyms in Mnemic's music, its polymetrics that they ripped from Meshuggah that they use to be catchy not to be technical.

  • Well thats just not true. Definitions: 1) Polymeter or Polyrhythm is the use of two metric frameworks simultaneously, or in regular alternation. Examples include Béla Bartók's String Quartet No. 2. Leonard Bernstein's "America" (from West Side Story) employs alternating measures of 6/8 (compound duple) and 3/4 (simple triple). This gives a strong sense of two, followed by three.

  • (2) Polyrhythm is the simultaneous sounding of two or more independent rhythms. Polyrhythms can be distinguished from irrational rhythms, which can occur within the context of a single part; polyrhythms require at least two rhythms to be played concurrently, at least one of which is typically an irrational rhythm.

  • I can tell you right now Mnemic (and Meshuggah) do both of these techniques. If you still dont agree ill go take the time to pick out examples of each technique used by Mnemic and point you in their direction for reference.

  • I know what a polyrhythm is, i use them in my music, ive been studying theory for over seven years for the standup bass and guitar. Meshuggah use both polyrythms and polymetrics. Which are meters of the song being different (IE. the time signature) but complimenting each other. Mnemic does it to the base extent, there isnt one polyrhythm ive heard in any of their music. You want a good example listen to Morbid Angel's Heretic album, each song has great examples of it.

  • I don't understand how you can blatantly say 'its not there'. Ive been studying music for several years too and wrote my end of year thesus on Polyrhythms for my degree. Not that showing off intellect through qualifications should even matter here. On youtube i even once seen Mnemics drummer doing a 'Polyrhythm work out' by demostrating parts of Mnemic songs. So he's a liar and i dont know my ass from my elbow is what your saying i guess.

  • Ive only heard a few songs from them so i havent gotten a full spectrum of it but what i heard theres no Polyrhythms. But also i only heard the videos. Ill take a closer look and check out some of the actual music cause audio on the videos is fucked up. Im not calling you a liar but i havent heard it.

  • Oh well thats much more understandable. You'll not find what your looking for in the new album AT ALL by the way - i was dissappointed in it. Hey recommend some good Morbid Angel polyrhythm tracks to me please. If ya dont mind dude.

  • Sure thing, ummm lets see "Beneath The Hollow" "Curse The Flesh" "Secured Limitations" and "Invocation Of The Continual One". Whats a good Mnemic album to find their polrhytmic stuff.

  • what is polyrhythm and how is it used in these metal bands? is it two different drum rhtyhms played at the same time? can you give me an example song of that?

  • Most anything by Meshuggah.

  • hehehehe

  • Basically in a dumbfound explanation its odd time signatures

  • It's when instruments in a band are playing different rhythms but getting it to link up at certain points. A common example would be drums playing 4/4 time and guitars playing 3/4 time.

  • a good example would be new millenium cyanide christ by meshuggah or liquid by mnemic.

  • Du gros son

  • Rofl

    ya it is Alain

    My Bad >.<

  • hey no problem:P

  • Is it just me

or does Gillaume Bideau sound a lot more BRUTAL in Scarve than he does in Mnemic now. Like the chorus...wow Gillaume just blows me away

and props to Pierrick, fucking INSANE growls. I love it

  • that´s not pierrick it´s alain, pierrick is a more robust guy! or at least i think it´s alain

  • haha he looks even funnier at 2:01! Keep on hittin those drums Dirk;)

  • Haha look at dirk at 1:48

  • Yeah I really don't know how you could leave a band like this haha. Pretty freaking epic \m/

  • guilame get back to scarve

  • Agreed.
