  • THIS IS BOBBY ROBBINS THE NAME OF THE GIRL WHO REPLACED JAMENE WAS JULIE APPLEBAUM AND A DRUG DEALER NAMED CAPTAIN MARVEL KILLED MY BROTHER BILLY AND MADE IT LOOK LIKE A SUICIDE BUT THE CAPT WAS ARRESTED BY THE FBI AND HE IS STILL IN JAIL

  • @brobbinsrocker Bobby, if that is really you, I was a really good friend of your brother's and hung out at your house in N Miami quite a bit. I've got so many photos - and memories of you both. Haven't ever stopped thinking of Billy. Is this really true about the drug dealer? Gosh, I'd love to get back in touch with you.

  • Looks like this was filmed at Pirate's World in Dania,Fl.

  • Yes

  • I just heard that Jamene Miller, the singer in this video died this September past. A shame.

  • boy, the memories. My sis dated DJ Cory James from WSHE early 70's. Billy Robins lived down the street from me in Coral Gables , met him at his house one time , sorry to see he committed suicide ???? Is that true, when ????

  • My understanding it was around 1969 or so in the Everglades. His death is what promted them to end up with Jamene. A great live band. They were alway good at the Jai Ali Fronton

  • Hi,

I went to Jr High with the Robbins twins when they lived near Biscayne Blvd/80 Street.

Always wanted to find out what happened to Billy-heard his demise was due to a bad drug deal.

Would love to know more about the beginnings of the group.

  • actually jamene is a good friend of mine and we kick til this day...maybe one day theres a comeback??

  • Comeback would be nice. I have some studio stuff she did later and it is pretty good. According to what I read on the "Lime Stone Lounge" site she is in Nashville now?

  • Mr. Coffee? are we talking caffene here?

We may have met briefly in Daytona. We (Coventry) did a gig in Daytona with Fantasy (post Jemene) and Brownsville Station. I spent some time talking to Jim Demeo (sp?) a real nice guy as I recall.

  • I got a copy of the European release a about 6 months ago. It sounds real good, quality wize. There was a lot of discussion on it on the "Limestone Lounge" web site that discusses South Florida bands. Jemene has a thread called "Ask Me About Fantasy". There is a lot of interesting historical stuff on the Limestone Lounge site, a great reseource.

  • Thats Cool, But i Only Recall STONED COWBOY While Growing Up as a Little Kid

  • I have read they put out a second without Jamene. Is this the one you are refering too?

I remember going to Jamene's apartment once and hearing here ill-fated solo album. It was good as I recall but I never got a copy of it. I do have some of here solo stuff from much later though, some of it is pretty good.

  • Oh Yeah.. CANDY STORE-BUTTON SOUTH-PENRODS-RENDEZVOU-ELBOW ROOM.. Those Places All Bring Back Memories.

Any 70's Stoners Remember Haulover Bch?.lol.

  • I used to work with South Florida bands back then, The She in Ft. Lauderdale, Gipper in Delray Beach, Harold's in Hollywood, the usual tour...o yea, and the various "Big Daddys'

  • I've Got a Buddy at a Local Radio Station Down Here In Ft Laud. He's Been In Maimi Market Radio Since The Late 60's.. I Know He's Got a Copy Of "STONED COWBOY" On CD. Im Gonna See WHat I Can Do

  • Fantasy's CD has been reissued with bonus trax in Europe. Vintage Vynal can get it for you if you want

  • Could someone please post Stoned Cowboy on YouTube?

  • I put Stoned Cowboy up. Search for Stoned Cowboy

  • I loved Fantasy! I sold the album for a dollar when I was in a bad state- long story. Anyway, I would really love to hear Stoned Cowboy again. I-Tunes still doesn't have it. Thanks for the memories! bee sqd on myspace

  • I used to work some clubs around 1972 or so.

Places like "The She", Button, Harold's (in Hollywood) and "The Office 2" in Margate. Fantasy was real good at the time

  • I was living in Arvada, Colorado in 1970, listening to Denver radio and Stoned Cowboy was a hit. My brother bought the album and still has it. I thought that Stoned Cowboy was the best song of 1970; it sounded like Iron Butterfly.

I read that in 1971 the group changed their name to Year One and released a double album. I would like to hear it as it is very rare.

  • Yes, when Jamene left for her ill fated solo career, the rest of the guys came back from LA to Miami and started Year One. I actually have not heard that stuff either. I used to see Fantasy live a lot at that time when they had Jamene and I thought they were real good live. I guess Stoned Cowboy does have an Iron Butterfly kind of sound. Jim Dimeao was a good guitar player live and Stoned Cowboy was a big long jam.
