does this work without a rom so just with the android version when you buy the x10 in the store or do you have to instal a rom on it ? I'm new in this so :)
@blueeyedlied No worries about being new. Everyone has to start out somehow! You would need to make sure you have a X10 with Gingerbread/Android 2.3. Root it and then install the add ons. You don't need a rom if you don't want to flash one. If you like stock, stay on it. Otherwise flash a new rom to test things out.
@sopdogg i have i found some theme in the android market : "Ice Cream Sandwich CM7 Theme
THIS IS FOR HDPI DEVICES ONLY.
IGNORE THE MISSING ASSETS NOTIFICATION WHEN APPLYING THE THEME.
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
This is a theme application for the new T-Mobile Theme Engine included in the CyanogenMod7 ROM and some other ROMs." they talk about an hdpi device how do you know wich device you have ? :) so this won't work on my phone without installing a rom :)
@blueeyedlied You would have to install the CyanogenMod 7 rom in order to use this theme. You won't have any issues with HDPI because the X10 runs on a FWVGA resolution 854x480 which is higher than most resolutions than some phones that are currently out.
Hey Sopdogg i flashed and rooted to 2.3.3 and have super user and got Xrecovery through Flashtool how do i install these add ons? Like Bravia Engine and the Audio Stutter Fix?
Hey Sopdogg i downloaded the files for Audio stutter fix and Xloud and i have Xrecovery on my phone so what do i do next to install those? When i was in Xrecovery mode i tried to install custom zip and it says can't mount sdcard so what do i do? And how do i install those files?
@rdbhojak Do you have Gingerbread on your phone? Make sure you have the correct xrecovery on there. There was another xrecovery out there that gave that same error when installed. Download the latest flashtool and reinstall xrecovery and try to install them via xrecovery again.
@sopdogg I do have Gingerbread i don't know what happened but now my phone isn't even turning onafter trying to use xRecovery it just gets frozen on the Sony Ericsson Screen what do i do? Do i have to re-flash to 2.3.3 ?
@dhanush031 Make sure you have the correct Xrecovery installed. Reinstall the latest Xrecovery and try again. I think a user by the name of lclaudiogb might have had the same issue as you. Give him a holler.
@dhanush031 Yes I did. I decided to get rid of XLoud as it made it incompatible with my other widgets. Check the XDA forums for a remover. I just reflashed my phone, you can do that route if you want to. The T.E.A.M. Rom thread has a nice remove Xloud zip somewhere there. Maybe you can look for it, if you don't want it anymore.
@dhanush031 Mainly that one. Otherwise XLoud worked just fine. Remember, don't blast XLoud all of the time, because it decreases your speakers life dramatically.
@sopdogg do you have any forums where you post tweaks and other cool stuff ??i kno where to find tweaks but wondering if you've found better stuff than me
@TheOnlyDealMaker I follow the X10 and also the general Android Development and Hacking XDA Forums. That is my #1 go to source for anything related to hacking/tweaks and roms. What sites do you follow?
@sopdogg k man.. well ty for all your help. i now kno everything to do with roms n stuff...the only thing i need to do now is keep up to d8 with roms. I can hell people with problems with roms on your channel tho
@TheOnlyDealMaker No problem. Keep up to date with XDA-Developers. The links are in the description. Check on the website every now and then and you will know when there are things to download.
@TheOnlyDealMaker I sent you the link to the THJAP kernel. Links are in the description. I get them all from XDA Developers. I generally don't use messenger unless it's for work purposes.
@Bobetor Reflash your phone. I hope you were on 2.3 when you tried installing these updates. The updates are for Gingerbread only not eclair. I have another video that shows you how to flash to Gingerbread if you have not done so already. Check out my channel and it will get you there. It's titled Tutorial or something like that.
@sopdogg m8, ur amazing. if you don't mind giving me a link to the latest doomlord kernel, and a link to all the patches. cheers for all the help yet again
k man. ty. i will follow your advice and install the new doomlord kernel.BTW(by the way) is downloading cyanogen mod 7.1 the same as downloading the doomlord kernel and does it have extra mhz frequencies.
Ty for responding to these msgs. i'm gonna follow you on twitter. is there any way of taking to you more frequently like in a convo so i can get some questions out the way?
@TheOnlyDealMaker I usually answer my comments on youtube pretty quickly unless it is on the weekends or at night. I am on Pacific Standard Time (GMT -7 I think) so I am usually available from 8am to 6pm. I always try to respond as soon as possible when I get comments. Twitter is good too. CM7 isn't the same as installing the doomkernel. Now, you have to unlock your bootloader in order to install CM7. Yes it is overclocked to 1.036GHZ. Doomkernel is up to 1.228GHZ if your phone can handle it.
@sopdogg Ty for the response, umm...i'm gonna try the zkernel first...then download Dooml0rds kernel and try it out. i'm not sure about bootloader but if i haven't done anything to my phone to do with a boot loader does that mean mine is locked. (i h8 sounding like a noob)
@TheOnlyDealMaker Skip the zkernel, it is old. Get the latest DoomKernel for the locked bootloaders. It has all the zKernel goodies plus a lot more. Just compare the change logs.
@sopdogg i have an xperia x10i which is rooted, has xrecovery and fps uncapped but now i wanna go for the full house. running my phone over 1000mhz without any problems, if u kno of any kernels that have very little issues jus giv me a heads up
@TheOnlyDealMaker I love the DoomKernel & there are many versions for unlocked/locked bootloader w/ constant updates. ThJAP, also updates frequently, released a kernel that improves touch functionality with very similar specs as the DoomKernel but is only available to locked bootloaders. I would say test out both. I am really interested in ThJAP's kernel because of the improved touch drivers. You should test that out first and let me know what you think :) You can find it in the TEAM Rom thread.
@sopdogg After installing all the zips and Doom kernel, does your X10 still lag? I've been getting a lot of lagging even with overclocked CPU. Also, I've notice that the available memory is usually 60 to 70mbs even after killing all apps. is this normal?
@jaysonhullmedia I still experience lag after all the fixes. Are you using SetCPU? What governor/profile are you using? I've noticed that smartass and interactive causes it to lag quite a bit, a lot of people are having the same issue. Min/Max or On Demand settings seem to work better for me. As for the memory, I don't use a task killer so I never check that. Gingerbread is supposed to have a integrated task killer so Google recommends uninstalling any task killer while using 2.2+ o/s.
@sopdogg Ok. i'll try the "on demand" and i'll uninstall app killer and use the local killer. (I trust you are talking about the running tasks in settings.)
I installed the home.apk from the link in your desciption and i can't seem to change my number of homescreens anymore, im using T.E.A.M's rom btw. I tried the flashable zips on xda, and the rom gives the option of choosing your number of homescreens but nothing happens, how do i uninstall it? :D
@supercheeseterrific I noticed that too. In the end I just reinstalled the older home Apk and it restored equality back into the universe. I'll send you the link in a bit.

it seems bravia engine is making force close on gallery app and lag on videos. When i deactivate everything works well. Or is the chainfire app i only install the 3d driver and the plugins but dont actually use any only default openGL settings. Also i have continuos force close on dolphin browser in this past day. @Cristianleguiz Sometimes the bravia engine will do that. Try getting into xrecovery and fix permission via the advanced option. It has worked for some. @akashjoshi88 Yes. Copy it to your SD Card. On your phone, go to settings>applications>check unknown sources box.
Go to the Android market and install Astro file Manager on your phone. Open Astro and find your downloaded item. Open app installer and install app.

@akashjoshi88 Looks like the theme manager doesn't work. You can skip that download.
