  • does this work without a rom so just with the android version when you buy the x10 in the store or do you have to instal a rom on it ? I'm new in this so :)

  • @blueeyedlied No worries about being new. Everyone has to start out somehow! You would need to make sure you have a X10 with Gingerbread/Android 2.3. Root it and then install the add ons. You don't need a rom if you don't want to flash one. If you like stock, stay on it. Otherwise flash a new rom to test things out.

    Good Luck!

  • @sopdogg thanks !

  • @blueeyedlied No problem, let me know if you have any more questions.

  • @sopdogg i have i found some theme in the android market : "Ice Cream Sandwich CM7 Theme

THIS IS FOR HDPI DEVICES ONLY.

IGNORE THE MISSING ASSETS NOTIFICATION WHEN APPLYING THE THEME.

    PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

This is a theme application for the new T-Mobile Theme Engine included in the CyanogenMod7 ROM and some other ROMs." they talk about an hdpi device how do you know wich device you have ? :) so this won't work on my phone without installing a rom :)

  • @blueeyedlied You would have to install the CyanogenMod 7 rom in order to use this theme. You won't have any issues with HDPI because the X10 runs on a FWVGA resolution 854x480 which is higher than most resolutions than some phones that are currently out.

  • @sopdogg oke thanks for the info ;) !

  • How did you get the Transparent Status Bar?

  • Hey Sopdogg i flashed and rooted to 2.3.3 and have super user and got Xrecovery through Flashtool how do i install these add ons? Like Bravia Engine and the Audio Stutter Fix?

  • @rdbhojak Get into xrecovery and flash the add ons. See 9:23 of the video for the tutorial on how to flash them.

  • Thanx heaps, you convinced me to root my phone and I have no regrets! Subscribed and liked :)

  • @UltraNoobanator Awesome! I'm glad I could help. Enjoy!

  • what rom do u use

  • @tarunorton I have been using the TEAM Rom. Stock like with awesome extra features.

  • Hey Sopdogg i downloaded the files for Audio stutter fix and Xloud and i have Xrecovery on my phone so what do i do next to install those? When i was in Xrecovery mode i tried to install custom zip and it says can't mount sdcard so what do i do? And how do i install those files?

  • @rdbhojak Do you have Gingerbread on your phone? Make sure you have the correct xrecovery on there. There was another xrecovery out there that gave that same error when installed. Download the latest flashtool and reinstall xrecovery and try to install them via xrecovery again.

  • @sopdogg I do have Gingerbread i don't know what happened but now my phone isn't even turning onafter trying to use xRecovery it just gets frozen on the Sony Ericsson Screen what do i do? Do i have to re-flash to 2.3.3 ?

  • @rdbhojak When in doubt, reflash and start all over. Sorry you are having so many issues.

  • @sopdogg So would i have to reflash to 2.1 then to 2.3.3? Do you know where i can find the 2.1 file?

  • @rdbhojak Just reflash to 2.3. No need to go back to 2.1.

  • Hey!! my x recovery is unable to install these custom zip files. It says it is unable to mount. Please help me.

  • @dhanush031 Make sure you have the correct Xrecovery installed. Reinstall the latest Xrecovery and try again. I think a user by the name of lclaudiogb might have had the same issue as you. Give him a holler.

  • @sopdogg Thank u very much.U've been of great help. Keep up this good work. :)

  • @dhanush031 No problem. I hope everything works for you! Good Luck!

  • @sopdogg Hey. Did u lose your powergrid widget when u flashed xloud?

  • @dhanush031 Yes I did. I decided to get rid of XLoud as it made it incompatible with my other widgets. Check the XDA forums for a remover. I just reflashed my phone, you can do that route if you want to. The T.E.A.M. Rom thread has a nice remove Xloud zip somewhere there. Maybe you can look for it, if you don't want it anymore.

  • @sopdogg Which other widgets?

  • @dhanush031 Mainly that one. Otherwise XLoud worked just fine. Remember, don't blast XLoud all of the time, because it decreases your speakers life dramatically.

  • i have updated to 2.3.3 but SD card iz not supporting wil u heo me plx

  • @SuperSmart00 Check your messages.

  • so my phone got stuck in a boot loop, but since i eint a noob i went into xrecovery n wiped cache and dalvik n my worked perfectly

  • @sopdogg do you have any forums where you post tweaks and other cool stuff ??i kno where to find tweaks but wondering if you've found better stuff than me

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker I follow the X10 and also the general Android Development and Hacking XDA Forums. That is my #1 go to source for anything related to hacking/tweaks and roms. What sites do you follow?

  • @sopdogg k man.. well ty for all your help. i now kno everything to do with roms n stuff...the only thing i need to do now is keep up to d8 with roms. I can hell people with problems with roms on your channel tho

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker No problem. Keep up to date with XDA-Developers. The links are in the description. Check on the website every now and then and you will know when there are things to download.

  • @sopdogg no problem, do u hav msn messenger that you frequently use??

  • @sopdogg another thing, where you find the THJAP kernel from, just asking so i can download the tweaks and stuff

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker I sent you the link to the THJAP kernel. Links are in the description. I get them all from XDA Developers. I generally don't use messenger unless it's for work purposes.

  • @sopdogg do u have Skype??

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker I do have skype. However, I only use it for work contacts. Sorry!

  • @bobetor did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before installing the rom?

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker i did not~~

  • after i reboot...i enter my pin code it stuck~~~any idea???

  • @Bobetor Unfortunately no. I've never set a pin code before on my phone. Restart and try again?

  • @sopdogg i was tried many time...but no idea...

  • @Bobetor Google Search might be your way. Sorry!

  • @sopdogg any suggestion?now i can't even go into pin code...stuck on lock menu ~~

  • @Bobetor Reflash your phone. I hope you were on 2.3 when you tried installing these updates. The updates are for Gingerbread only not eclair. I have another video that shows you how to flash to Gingerbread if you have not done so already. Check out my channel and it will get you there. It's titled Tutorial or something like that.

    Good Luck!

  • @sopdogg m8, ur amazing. if you don't mind giving me a link to the latest doomlord kernel, and a link to all the patches. cheers for all the help yet again

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker Sent you a link via messages. Try it and let me know what you think. I am very curious about this new kernel.

  • k man. ty. i will follow your advice and install the new doomlord kernel.BTW(by the way) is downloading cyanogen mod 7.1 the same as downloading the doomlord kernel and does it have extra mhz frequencies.

Ty for responding to these msgs. i'm gonna follow you on twitter. is there any way of taking to you more frequently like in a convo so i can get some questions out the way?

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker I usually answer my comments on youtube pretty quickly unless it is on the weekends or at night. I am on Pacific Standard Time (GMT -7 I think) so I am usually available from 8am to 6pm. I always try to respond as soon as possible when I get comments. Twitter is good too. CM7 isn't the same as installing the doomkernel. Now, you have to unlock your bootloader in order to install CM7. Yes it is overclocked to 1.036GHZ. Doomkernel is up to 1.228GHZ if your phone can handle it.

  • @sopdogg Ty for the response, umm...i'm gonna try the zkernel first...then download Dooml0rds kernel and try it out. i'm not sure about bootloader but if i haven't done anything to my phone to do with a boot loader does that mean mine is locked. (i h8 sounding like a noob)

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker Skip the zkernel, it is old. Get the latest DoomKernel for the locked bootloaders. It has all the zKernel goodies plus a lot more. Just compare the change logs.

  • @sopdogg i have an xperia x10i which is rooted, has xrecovery and fps uncapped but now i wanna go for the full house. running my phone over 1000mhz without any problems, if u kno of any kernels that have very little issues jus giv me a heads up

  • @TheOnlyDealMaker I love the DoomKernel & there are many versions for unlocked/locked bootloader w/ constant updates. ThJAP, also updates frequently, released a kernel that improves touch functionality with very similar specs as the DoomKernel but is only available to locked bootloaders. I would say test out both. I am really interested in ThJAP's kernel because of the improved touch drivers. You should test that out first and let me know what you think :) You can find it in the TEAM Rom thread.

  • @sopdogg After installing all the zips and Doom kernel, does your X10 still lag? I've been getting a lot of lagging even with overclocked CPU. Also, I've notice that the available memory is usually 60 to 70mbs even after killing all apps. is this normal?

  • @jaysonhullmedia I still experience lag after all the fixes. Are you using SetCPU? What governor/profile are you using? I've noticed that smartass and interactive causes it to lag quite a bit, a lot of people are having the same issue. Min/Max or On Demand settings seem to work better for me. As for the memory, I don't use a task killer so I never check that. Gingerbread is supposed to have a integrated task killer so Google recommends uninstalling any task killer while using 2.2+ o/s.

  • @sopdogg Ok. i'll try the "on demand" and i'll uninstall app killer and use the local killer. (I trust you are talking about the running tasks in settings.)

  • I installed the home.apk from the link in your desciption and i can't seem to change my number of homescreens anymore, im using T.E.A.M's rom btw. I tried the flashable zips on xda, and the rom gives the option of choosing your number of homescreens but nothing happens, how do i uninstall it? :D

  • @supercheeseterrific I noticed that too. In the end I just reinstalled the older home Apk and it restored equality back into the universe. I'll send you the link in a bit.

  • @sopdogg ooohh thank you btw, your video inspired me to root and customize my phone! it's awesome now! thank you again :)

  • @supercheeseterrific No problem, I'm glad I could help!

  • Does the stock kernel can be restored by "NAND restore" (SE stock ROM)? Or I must flash the kernel (.zip file) via xRecovery separately?

  • @sasa3342 That is a good question. I've never tried that before. I usually flash the back to stock zip, it will be a lot faster than a restore. Just flash the back to stock kernel in the description and you should be good.

  • And a video request sop!! Plis make one on setcpu configuration, with you scaling metods and advanced features!! explain everithing for take the most oc for games and saving battery rules too!! we dont want to set on fire or x10s!! thanks!

  • @Cristianleguiz I will try to make a video as soon as possible. My time is rather tight as I am studying for the CPA so it takes all my free time. As long as you don't constantly run your phone at max frequency all the time you should be gold.

  • it seems bravia engine is making force close on gallery app and lag on videos. When i deactivate everything works well. Or is the chainfire app i only install the 3d driver and the plugins but dont actually use any only default openGL settings. Also i have continuos force close on dolphin browser in this past day. Do you now whats is the cause? is doomlord kernel? thanks

  • @Cristianleguiz Sometimes the bravia engine will do that. Try getting into xrecovery and fix permission via the advanced option. It has worked for some. The bravia engine is nice to have but it doesn't make a huge difference in videos but photos do look nicer. If it is causing you issues consider keeping it off.

  • We're can I get circular battery zip mod for. I already have doomlord kernel. Sweet thanks another question. You test home launcher 2.0.A.0.22?

  • @Cristianleguiz Check the themes and apps section of the Xperia 10 thread on XDA. I tried installing the circular battery once and it didn't play well with my system so I had to reflash to get rid of it. I think the home launcher I have installed in this video is that version. I have also tried the 2.3.4 home launcher too, but I like this version better.

  • May I know how you get the Xperia name with the Android

  • @Runescapez1997 Install the doomkernel and you will have it.

  • I have a question.. Is installing a ROM the same as installing a add on with xrecovery?

Can I get the link for the TEAM rom you displayed first?

  • @quipster671 In essence, similar but not the same. When you install an add-on via xrecovery you are just adding features to your existing firmware. A custom rom is a step further as a rom may already have those add-ons already included in it. A rom is a custom cooked & in most cases, a optimized firmware with extra bells and whistles that the chef decides to put in it. Generally a procedure while installing a rom is wiping all data in xrecovery so you will start fresh. Check messages in a bit.

  • your voice is hot

  • did you dim the lights so we wouldn't see your unmanicured hands?

  • tell me for the FPS uncap is this only for Cyonogenmod 7 ? or not ? I already install bravia engine and xloud and there working very well i would like to have FPS uncap since i used the wolfbreak rom.

  • @Tamdeh1 FPS uncap is already integrated into the Wolfbreak rom. If you have it installed, it is all good. Download fps2d from the market and run it. If your fps jumps over 29 then you got it already. Let me know if you don't and I'll find it for you.

  • @sopdogg Well for my rom i didnt know that i had a fps uncap until you told me, but anyways still i installed fps uncap and made a test with fps2d and it work well i reach the 54 fps with no problem with my x10. thx

  • hello sop! i did the root and xrecovery but cant download the custom fix can you do a post and upload to another server like freakshare. I cant open mediafire or megaupload links and the boys in xda only use mediafire or megaupload!! thanks from Argentina!!

  • @Cristianleguiz EDIT problem solved: I have downloaded the custom zips by 3G. Its seems my internet provider of wifi has block mediafi and megaup pages. I tried to change the DNS to public one, not use firewall or antivirus but still cant load the pages

  • thank you very very much appreciated it thanks.

  • Hey there..!! Great Job !!.....i have one question.....how did you get that transparent notification bar????...:/

  • @themysteryman36 It is one of the key features of the T.E.A.M. rom by pvyParts & My_Immortal. Just flash the rom and you will get it. There might be some other transparent zip/add-ons available on XDA-Developers if you don't want to flash the rom. Explore the site and you may find it. Good luck!

  • @sopdogg hey thankss....!!,,,,,found it..:)

  • hey, I did it....

    It works perfectly.....

    thank you....

  • @akashjoshi88 Awesome! Glad it worked!

  • hi..

at 06:42 in this video, during the overview all the widgets are moving when u shakes the phone...

I've installed Audio Lags Fix, Bravia Engine, FPS Uncap, Update Timescap, and xLoud....

but, still I'm not getting that overview effect......

can you please tell me how to do this?

  • @akashjoshi88 Oops, forgot all about the Xperia Ray Launcher that I installed on my phone. I will update the description with the link in a moment.

  • @sopdogg Yeah.... I'm Waiting For That Dear......

  • @akashjoshi88 Updated!

  • @sopdogg by which plugin I can get that effect?

    Home Launcher Or Theme Manager?

  • @akashjoshi88 Home Launcher. The theme manager is a new edition to the home launcher which needs an additional apk for it to work.

  • @sopdogg how can I install A home launcher?

  • @akashjoshi88 Just install it like a regular APK. Download and press install. It will probably say something like replace application? Say yes. If it doesn't work, download ASTRO file manager or any file manager, look for the download and install it manually.

  • @sopdogg but I downloaded the APK. to my pc... so now, how can I install?

can I copy to sd card?

if yes then what is the process to installation...?

sorry for so many questions but, I just got my x10 today...

so, I don't know more about this...

and please tell me how to brows sd card from phone?

  • @akashjoshi88 Yes. Copy it to your SD Card. On your phone, go to settings>applications>check unknown sources box.

Go to the Android market and install Astro file Manager on your phone. Open Astro and find your downloaded item. Open app installer and install app.

  • @akashjoshi88 Looks like the theme manager doesn't work. You can skip that download.

  • some of the links aren't working. good video though

  • @Jerichosora Thanks. I think I fixed all the links. Thanks for watching the video!
