This song is amazing to begin with, but live it literally gives me the craziest cold chills ever. I love music, I eat it up, but this song is so true and honest that it brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it. Such a pure band, amazing.
Fantastic footage of an awesome show. I brought my wife, my 3 kids (the youngest was 11 months old) and my parents to this show. It wasn't my first time seeing them, but this show was a life changer. Something about the location, being with those you love and listening to the most sincere, entertaining and honest music.....I had tears i my eyes on several occasions.
@entropicsteve after seth sings "hate reads the letter and throws it away", there's a woman in the background who goes "boo hate!". but thanks for your tasteful comment anyway.
This was my first Avett Brothers show - Im 40 and have grown from seeing Van Halen at the Cow Palace to The Grateful Dead pretty much everywhere to The Roots at the Fillmore. I am just a freak for live music....and I can honestly say that this concert left me with more glow than any other I can recall. This band is so authentic, joyful, and honest and the crowd gets showered with a purity I dont think happens much these days at live shows. Viva La Avetts!!!!
@entropicsteve What a great comment! I love live music too, and every Avett show I've been to of theirs has been just how you described it - authentic, joyful, honest, and pure. Glad you enjoyed the videos, and hope you'll be at many more shows to come :)
@entropicsteve You are so right!! I haven't been to see them yet, but my husband and I are going to Wakarusa festival in Arkansas in May this year. VIP tickets are $600, but I figure it's our anniversary, and this is the band to spend that sort of money on. Very well said, your comment. It doesn't happen much at live shows these days.
