  • This reminds me of Alla Nazamova in "Salome". Check it out on You Tube. This movie has a "plot" written by Oscar Wilde but besides the color it's feels so similar.

  • It is so beautiful!!!!

  • I can't even express the genius that this film series is. Quite the culmination of art theory through the ages. Almost flawless.

  • gross and demonic - this is where Lady Gaga gets her inspirations

  • I love Matthew Barney. His images are always very compelling to me. Lush, vivid, beautiful and sometimes horrific. I wish I could find some place that is exhibiting the entire Cremaster Cycle in sequence.

  • the internet lol.

  • it is filmed in Budapest, Gellért Bath

  • Where did you even get these? I looked everywhere for them (well, online anyway..)Did you pull the classic technique of filming inside a theater?

  • @pasquinade777 I was able to download the whole cycle using a torrent file (about 4+ gigs).

  • i wish i had 4 blonde jap mermaids tending to my cock in a philipe stark bath.

looks cool, but you have to question if barney deserves the adoration and claims of genius he receives.

  • WHy does it look like a bad dream that you cant escape from. What does it all mean? Who finances his movies?

  • he whole work is about the freemasons and how you start by becoming an entered apprentice, and what you need to do to become a master mason. it's a metaphor for the order of the world and the chaos in it, though the theme of fremasonry

  • Matthew Barney has such a different feel from other artists. He isn't a part of any scene, and he is completely an individual. He's not concerned about art theories, or the art world, he just focuses on production. This is why I love him, and his work. His videos, even if you don't get them, possess such a distinct beauty.

  • A fantasia on where boners come from... hey - nothing wrong with that!!

  • may cause inappropriate giggling

  • how do ppl even compare him to Trecartin?

  • o I just compared them today!

  • Barney is awesomeee!

waaw gosh this is real art !

    Loving it !

  • Shit, this is extremely beautiful

  • Say what you want about Barney being a hack/chauvinist/wtfever, that harp part at the start of this scene is freaking amazing. There's a reason (other than the Barney Inflation Index) that the soundtrack to this movie is hard to find, and expensive when you do find it. Props to Messr. Bepler.

  • wyrwało mu siurka?

  • na to wygląda ;)

  • cuz u r an idiot

  • amo a matthew es el genio de este nuevo siglo ho yesss

  • ugh. *the trap of postmodernism*

    m. barney is a joke.

  • I love Barney's work so much. It's hard for me to grasp some of his concepts (I don't think critically enough, I know his work is highly significant though). I know this specific clip included reference to androgeny and tension but I am still trying to figure out what was trying to be done to his genital like apendage. Was there supposed to be a literal event or was it symbolic?

  • Barney is no more frightening then real live...

  • ok, this part was cool...but Barney's work freaks me out anyway. It's like...dunno: scary? I would never stay locked in a room with Matthew Barney AND a knife LOL

  • Barney is a big fan of horrors. But his movies are not frightening for me.

  • I love this part of The Cremaster Cycle. Its artistic, but still so naturaly. Big symphony of pigeons, ribbons and Giant in beautiful baths in Budapest. This is art with big A.
