I share some (if not all) of the sentiments in this video of yours. But I think you probably expected too black/white division between atheists and religious people. This division is not as clear cut as you would like. Assholes are everywhere ana everyone is jerk sometimes. But they are not everywhere in the same concentration and not everyone is jerk the same amount of time - and that is important.

I am sad to hear your level of frustration. I can totally relate to it. In fact most of my life I was a Diest after reading Paine's Age of Reason. When I hooked up with other Diest and freethinkers, I found them to be contrary to what they professed. There was a lot of Bush bashing, a lot of do as I say not as I do. Furthermore The self professed Deist were actually giving Athiest arguments. Claimimng that my bleif in a supreme bining was neanderthalistic now I have more support from Christians
I have also found the idea of old-school Diesm to be a lost art. Now it is little more than a false name plate for the eltist Athiest who do not tollarate others. Sometimes it is like talking to a brick wall and I really feel your words.
We do not always live up to our ideals. That is true of pretty much everyone. Often times, it is easier than most would admit to begin to mock someone when a rational debate does not occur. Most are able to live with cognitive dissonance, and this maddens me. We are hardly what one would call organized, so reform of any kind would be likely to fail, and any "ideals" we would live up to would be defined as "religious" by opposing viewpoints. (cont)
Either way, debate on some level on.. well.. debating would be interesting and hasn't really been covered. Perhaps some philosophy on the subject could be discussed? or at least categorized? I hope you will reconsider. The true audience for your points of view are not the VFXs and the philos71s etc, but those that sit closer to the fence. I am often perplexed by the willful ignorance of the "true believer" but there are some who will move of the dime and this is a battle that will extend well beyond either of our lifetimes. I regard you as one of the few that has the(forgive the term) 'gift' to persuade.

Unfortunately that's probably what I need to do too. When I drink, I drink a lot.. typically close to an 18 pack in one sitting a couple nights a week. And I drink a ton of soda. 6'2" and 175 all my life, then shit happened and i started drinking a lot more and I'm up to 245. :|

Hard to say really. Perhaps I could have lasted a bit longer. I felt however that the input far exceeded the reward of making the videos and that was a factor as well.
As for the drinking... I was consuming about 5,000 calories/day in alcohol alone. Got on the scale and saw 215 and said, "ok that's it". 4 months later 165.

On the weight thing; yep I lost 50 lbs. in only 4 months or so. I did only one thing; cut out alcohol entirely.
