I've never drove or owned a vehicle that is cammed and I know theres such a thing as having to much cam when you have too much cam I imagine it gives it a powerband kinda like a two stroke dirtbike? I already have the cam its a step bigger the yours I think 512 lift?

@rockinbass01 This cam runs awesome in my truck, but I do have a 4 speed manual. I have the Idle a little low in this video but I now keep the idle at about 1k-1100 and it comes alive really good. I actually just got stupid and rev'd it way to high for way to long while out mudding and wore a lobe off the cam, But I'm going to be putting the same exact cam back in it cause i'm really happy with it.

I just put a lunati cam in my buick with the same lift and duration as yours but it's not as choppy as yours when idling. I know there is an initial break in when it's first installed but does it still take more time for it to be fully broken in?

Don't go with a lopey cam bud. Reasons why:

1. Burns up crank bearings

2. conflict with valve adjustments

3. Raises engine temp. by 11% average

4.Horrible on gas mileage

5. All sound no go!

you must not know much about hot rods i have a 355 with a bigger cam that in a all steel body 60 chevy pickup and half throttle the front end pulls about two feet up, and it also doesnt raise the engine temp my 84 pickup runs 180 and so does the 60 pickup, you are right on the gas mileage, and your not quite correct on the bearings

I have a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado with a 307ci OIds and when I give it gas it raises the front end also but that is because the 80's and before cars came with soft cloud like suspension not because of tons of power.

tell me... were you on drugs when you posted that? The camshaft is the brain of the engine. It dictates how much fuel goes into the cylinder, how long the valve stays open, and when it opens. You can get upwards of 40 horse out of a cam, depending on what else is done to the engine and if everything is matched up on the engine

Have to remove the intake, valve covers, rockers, pushrods, lifters, water pump and timing gears to get at the cam. Also have to remove the radiator and grill if you want to get the cam out with the engine still in the truck.

I am running a 30 series Flowmaster center in center out, I can't remember if its single chamber or not, I bought my whole exhaust off of a buddy for a heck of a deal. The cam I'm running is a Lunati 292/292 duration 480 lift. I also don't have tail pipes my mufflers stop right before my back tires. Sorry it took me so long to respond.

About that old comment of yours i also have a Lunati cam kit 290/300 duration as advertised coming in the mail im changing the springs,rods,timing chain,intake,carb and stock rockers but other than that it will be completely stock. Oldsmobile 350's have a higher nickle content and from what ive learned it's the biggest cam i can put in my car without hurting it. Your truck sounds amazing i cant wait!!!!!!! :)

Yeah stock heads. I had to replace my intake though because I cracked it somehow when I was taking it out. I ended up putting a performer intake on it. I have heard people say this cam won't work in a stock engine but mine is stock crate engine and its in there working fine. I asked a few of my friends that have drag cars and couple that build engines and they all said this is the biggest cam I could get in my engine without hurting it. So yeah...
