He was nominated for best actor last year at the Oscars for his role in 127 hours. It was an amazing performance, he's a great actor!! Tristan's character was just a little flat in this movie because there's only so much he could do with the material at hand. I mean don't get me wrong, i love this movie but the character development was lacking and the love story happened so fast that it failed to be convincing, that's not James Francos fault and I doubt any actor could have done it any better.

Lol, I've seen the movie, and you're almost right. It does give a good short timeline of the entire film. But thankfully there is heaps more to the movie that isn't shown in the trailer - and the ending remains a mystery if you haven't seen it.

I think the whole thing was a tad bit overrated. I love a good romance movie as much as the next person but I have to be honest in saying that this one nearly bored me to death. It was very slow in parts, and then others happened way too quickly. All they really did was have sex, they hardly even spoke to eachother. And all Isolde's focos on was Tristan and Marc. She didn't really have a personality developing toward anything else. Good movie but only watchable once. I give it 6/10.

It got me when Isolde was going with Lord Marke on their wedding night and she turns to Tristan and says she will pretend it is him. Ah! I seriously got misty eyed when she said that. The only thing that I would want to add to the movie is that in the end Isolde does find out that she is pregnant and gives birth after Tristan dies and the ending be like her giving birth and her saying "He looks just like Tristan" or something like that. I just thought that would have been a better ending.

I was slightly disapointed with this film. It was still great. And it had the potential to be unbeliavable. I think maybe if they had put more into the love scenes and more tension.
