2. If you read Sparks' "Thank You's" in the beginning of the book, you will see that he thanks Miley and Billy Ray since Miley came up with the name Ronnie. This is more likely the reason she got the part in the movie. :P

She got the part in the movie because as far as i know the movie script was made to help miley grow out of disney channel. So Sparks said that he wrote the movie script before he wrote the book, so technically she already had the part before the book was made. Hope that helps :)
