  • it looks so EASY!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Yanie2CuteApplewhite it is girl... it is....

  • omg i did mine AND IT LOOK LIKE A BIG GAP IN THE MIDDLE IM SO PISTED

  • @mzpreetydhatt21 how many braids did you do? thats probably what went wrong. Sorry girl.

  • great job on the video, i'll be doing this style for the new yr!

  • @eazy55able i just did mine over my locs. LOL. happy to help.

  • @toysvoice You said you just did the crochet braids over your locs, do you have Sisterlocks? I do and I really want to do this hairstyle. How do you protect your locs from being snagged?

  • @Quadj97 i just did my hair last week and put up a video on how i put my hair away. its called crochet braids over locs. Let me know if that helps.

  • @toysvoice Hey Lady! Do you have locs? If so, are they sisterlocks? I have sisterlocks and I really want to do this style. What did you do to protect your locs from being snagged? How long have you had your hair up?

  • @RootedDiva i just did my hair last week and put up a video on how i put my hair away. its called crochet braids over locs. Let me know if that helps.

  • So you don't wash your hair while wearing this hairstyle?

  • @dmckin4054 no i cleanse my scalp but no washing.

  • @toysvoice how do you clense ur scalp? I'm thinking of getting this style when my hair grows out [hairdresser burned it off with texturizer so now i'm doing the 2010 Rihanna super-short cut #sob]

this is my first time hearing about crochet braids, i'm not really fond of weaves [have been doing my own braids for 4 years] and i couldn't find a decent salon in London that's heard of tree braids so this is just Perect for me! :D

  • @k3mbyl well you can't wash your hair so you can either take which hazel and cleanse your scalp or buy a dry shampoo. i tried the organix. it worked well but is very strong. i was coughing the whole time i used it. I just put crochet braids back in and i will be using witch hazel. hope that helps.

  • @toysvoice sorry i forgot directions. Put some witch hazel on a cotton ball and cleanse the scalp and hair. you will probably need a few. I also will gently squeeze the braids to cleanse them a little too.

  • So is this like having a weave? i like the style but im confused? can you tie and and does it look like braids or a weave when you do

  • @MissPretty518 its not really weave but it looks like weave in the end.

  • can you use wet and wavy for that hair style

  • @ThePooahbear23 i think so but the tying method is different. if you search crochet braids in youtube you will see a light skinned lady with long hair. she shows that method.

  • ok soo...how long are you suppouse to keep it in???

  • @IAMCARMONY 2-3 months depending on maintainance

  • Great great great tut!!! Thanks!

  • it is so beautiful

i like it , i will do it too thank's for the innitiative

  • You inspired my to go ahead and do my crochet braids (with flat twists since I can't cornrow) and they came out great! I posted a vid too! Thanks for your tutorial and advice!

  • i like it its real cute

  • Great tutorial! I was planning on trying to do this on a little girls hair but I wanted to have half her head be just her hair in cornrows and then the back half as crochet curls. Should I do cornrows all the way back straight or should I do the back half of her head side ways, like from ear to ear? Thanks, sorry If I am confusing.

  • Thanks so much for the tutorial. It inspired me to do my own hair and it turned out fabulous.

  • you did a very good demo love it!

  • how do u wash ur hair, & can u use other kinds of hair, great vid by the way!

  • @myhusbandsrib i dont wash with water. i think my maintainance vid talk about it but take a dry shampoo or witch hazel and clean the scalp once a week. i used a briad shampoo from organics before but it was really strong so yea...hope that helps

  • How do u care for this style?

  • @Lovpin I have a maintenance video that would answer that. Check it out.

  • Me too... Ill pay you to do my hair! So let me know, please and thanks!

  • i love it. i have a big head so this style would looks perfect on me. thks for post :)

  • Love this vid! I started doing crochet braids about 2 months ago. This will be my 3rd installment and first time trying the Water Wave hair. I'm excited! Your hair looks great! I was curious to know about how often do you use the hair color? i.e., every 3rd space, etc.? I'm not sure if I'm the best when it comes to blending highlights...so please let me know! Thank you for a great tutorial!

  • @fashiongyrl08 wit the color i add it more towards the top. So like rows 5-8 i dd color. i use my discretion. every other on row 5. every other 2 on row 6. every other 2 on row 7. as little or as much as you want at the top (row 8 for me). hope that helps.

  • @chococoasfro i definitely agree. I have locs now but in the fall im going to do it again. Need a lil change. Love this style.

  • I love this video! You are soooo Brooklyn!!!! Werk!

  • @cococovergirl brooklyn......BRONX BABY!!! LOL.

  • @toysvoice Do you live in Brooklyn, I'm looking for someone to do it for me and I'll pay. I'm just in love with the hair.

  • So i gotta question abou this,

last time i did crochet for the first time and i used weave to braid up my hair into cornrows.

this time i want to do crochet braids again but i dont want to use weave to braid my hair into cornrows...

does it last longer? or does it make a big difference if you braid your hair in weave or not? and another thing is, how long would this hairstyle last? like a month? without braiding with weave?

  • @MsShotta91 the times i did this i did not use weave. I dont braid with weave. i really dont think i makes a difference. Without weave my hair lasts 2-3 months.

  • @MsShotta91 Thank You for the quick reply... yea because i am thinkin about trying it out without weave just for a more natural look and feel to my scalp. -Chao

  • Thanks Toys Voice :-) just did mines, it looks great :-)

  • @browniedgal awesome. Add a tag a video response. I would love to see it.

  • Hello Toysvoice,

You have created a very informative vidtourial and also very easy to understand. I am very excited about this style and I am going to do it tonight. Unfortunately, the beauty supply stores in the Greater Cleveland area does not carry the Water Wave so I am using the Freetress Bohemian... I'll keep you updated on how it turns out.. Thank you for your time to do this vid.. Have a blessed year young lady.

  • I want to have some bangs in the front. Do you have any advice for that? I was thinking that doing the cornrows slightly to the side instead of straight back (in the front) would achieve that look.

  • Hahahaha I ways trying to type and eat, so I was trying to say thank you, instead of thanks you girl lol...

  • Thanks you girl, you are awesome cant wait to try this style

  • Thanks to you, I have a new hairstyle!

  • Oh my goodness! I am trying this on saturday! thank you for the video....i'm sure my daughter will want this too.

  • Great tutorial! What was the name of the hair? Could you crochet straight hair? Thank you!

  • Is this human hair? Is it hard to take down?

  • @venita01 Its synthetic and very easy to take down. I have a take down video.

  • Looks great. perfect for my clientele who want a thick curly look, but don't want to wear a wig every day

  • Looks great. I ve been wanting to try this style since last summer. I wil def try it, your vids are helpful. I like the hair you used. Reminds me of Tia & Tamera from sister, sister. I will be searching for hair like it if i cant find the brand.x

  • how do you take care of it at night?? a bonnet? or do you sleep on it?

  • Your video is the best crochet braids tutorial that I've come across. thanks for the upload

  • why cant you wash your hair when you have this in? does it come out?

  • what type of hair is this again?

  • I la la la la love your hair... It's go freakin cute...You did a real good job

  • i luv this..thanks for posting this video..i have been needing some ideas on how to fill in my hair..i have thick scars on my head from an accident years ago and have been using glue in tracks and even individual braids to fill in my hair...UGH.!! it did more bad than good..now my hair seems to be thinner from all the mess...but this is wonderfull...seems so much more healthier on the scalp and it looks very pretty..thanks for the tutorial..now im gonna be rockin some awesome hair..THANk U GIRL

  • I'm gonna start using this technique for my part when I do my sew-ins, that way I dont have to worry about blending.

  • cute cute cute!!!!! thanks so much

  • Hey there! I liked your vid alot!! Nice job!! I have some questions though!! Ive been watching a few vids and all the ladies talk about not washing the hair and the crochet braid being a protective hair style...how can u nourish ur scalp properly without washing it?? I am excited about this style but the only thing that puts me off is the fact that I wouldnt be able to wash my hair ( I oil my sculp EVERYDAY!) and...do we use synthetic hair for this?? Can we use human hair? If not, y? Thanks! :)

  • I really like this style. Thanks for sharing. Would it work for someone who works out? I sweat a lot in my scalp and I am in the process of transitioning from perm to natural.

  • @brandino211 No it was not human. I would think they sell it in human but i never checked.

  • good video...how long did it take to do?

  • @AKIYIAKELLY About 5 hours i think but its worth it to me for a 2-3 months style.

  • You truly did your thing, very thorough young lady! I found your's (as I said in your previous vid/tutorial) to be simple, super simple. So on the sides you said 4,6, then 8 then in the middle get them really close together.

  • @VickyVue yup. Thanks

  • Best Crochet braid Video I've ever seen. THANKS!!

  • Girl, you just put me on to some new shit lol. I had no idea about this technique, and it seems like it would be much easier to do it this way instead of the individuals. I Can't wait to try this! Thanks for the tutorial~God bless

  • you are sow funny now i want try it to thnx =^.^=

  • You did fabulous.. Thanks for doing it in steps, you were very thorough

  • @BlkSwirl223 thanks

  • Your hair looks so nice. I would try this but I can't braid. :)

  • @Natashalulu have some1 else hraid it or do 2 strand flat twists.

  • love the video what type of hair did you use and what inch?

  • @tarniesha freetress bulk water wave. no length.

  • nice

  • @German6k1957 thanks

  • what did you do with your cornrows at the end that was in a bun ? did you just leave it ?

  • @xleverywheregurllx yes i just left it. they hair is too long for you to see it.

  • what did you do with your cornrows at the end that was in a bun ?

  • Gorgeous!

  • @godbepraised1 thanks

  • thanks for the tutorial!! i can't wait to try it for myself. i know it will take me more than 5 hours to do, but its worth it at the end if i can let my hair relax for a couple months and still be able to have the big hair i've gotten use to being natural. once again, thanks! i'll post pics or vid as soon as i do it.

  • @bigmamania great. i cant wait to see it.

  • omg this style is so cute i wanna try it thanx for being very detailed thats how i like the how to videos to be very detailed alright bye you were very helpful and funny

  • Can you wash your hair at all in this style? It is really cute but I like to wash my hair. I wanna try it.

  • Can you wash your hair at all in this style? It is really cute but I like to wash my hair. I wanna try it.

  • @whosbotheringme not a soap and water wash. you can use a dry shampoo or wipe the scalp with witch hazel or sea breeze.

  • this is verrrry helpful i just learned wat these are from u and now i hav my bak 2 skool style xDDDD

  • @Method2thaMadness happy to help girl... happy to help.

  • i did this style came out cute but im taking it down cause i didnt take care of it..thanks for sharing this video it helpd me out alot.

  • I just crochet my hair yesterday watching your tutorial, thank- you so much it was easy to follow.

  • I really wanna do this style, have you ever done it starting from the back or will it not look as good? also can you do it with straight bulk hair? thanks

  • @gaelle8t8 i have never started from the back because i count how many pieces i put in each cornrow except the middle four which just get filled in. Concerning straight hair there is a few ladies that doe it but the knotting is slightly different. When you search crochet you will see a light skinned black lady with long hair. She shows how to do it.

  • you have the best tut on this style and it looks great!!!...do you cut the hair again (before putting it in) to create a layered effect; framing your face? Or did you cut it like that after?

  • @naturalbell i cut the stragglies and trim for evenness but as for the framing of the face i guess the hair just does that

  • omg i luv luv luv ur videos n ur personality very informative jus subscribed

  • @modelchic413 .aaaaaaawwwwwww thanks so much. i appreciate it...

  • I like your tuts. However, I wish the lighting was better.

  • @nessanessa01 hmm... ok i will def keep that in mind. Thanks.

  • Great crochet braids series. Thanks.

  • @Nicsnaps your more than welcome

  • Looks great!!! What about washing your hair?

  • @iammsone i used a dry shampoo the first time with had an overbearing alcohol smell so the second time i didn't wash...i didn't put much product in my hair so i didn't have too much build up. I haven't found sum.t i really like yet but i will be doing them again this summer n when i do i will try wiping the scalp with witch hazel. I heard that that is a nice cleanse for the scalp without drying the hair. hope that helps.

  • Hi I watched your awesome video how do you connect your hair when you cornroll it going back, so my own hair doesn't come loose?

  • @angelicaf00 I braid it all together. Then I put a rubber band on it and kinda roll it in a little ball. If your hair is longer I guess u have to find a different a way that suits u to keep it up.

  • your help is so appreciated! thanks for doing this. i will def. do a vid response.

  • @adassa you are more than welcome. cant wait to see your video.

  • Great Tutorial!!!! Thanks!!

  • @Mselynn5 thanks

  • i really want to do my hair like that but withj straight hair i was wondering if it is very fragile like how hard could u pull on it

  • @xoxPrincesspxox their is a different technique with straight hair that actullay seems more secure than how i do it. Concerning pulling im not sure... i guess u gotta try that one out and see.

  • this looks SO great! i just said that i wanted to try this! going old school!

  • Thanks

  • I hope this does not sound silly, but, how do you take it out? Just unbraid your hair? Please explain.

  • I have a removal video... i think that will help.

  • Can you use straight bulk hair or will it slip out. I know Mystakin777 used kinda straight hair and she said it started falling out. Is this why?

  • Their is a technique for straight hair if you look on youtube. I forgot what is was called but it worked nicely. You do a different type of knot and everything.

  • can u wash it??

  • You can only cleanse your scalp. I think i talk about it in my crochet maintenance video. If not please do send a message and i will tell you what i do.

  • I am going to try this today, I am so excited lol.

  • Did you try it?

  • Yep, it is huge, I think I may have messed up the hair because it is pretty frizzy, but it looks more natural that way I guess. Thanks for the awesome video. :)

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • I finally did the hair style thanks. great explaination. i should have done the cornrows the day before, cause it took me hours to finish the cornrow section, i ended up doing twenty. i was going for sixteen. i learned what not to do in the process. took me a while to get a hang of the crochet needle and knotting the hair. I decided to use Mystakin777's knotting technique great process to hold hair in place.

  • Well I'm happy you tried it and succeeded. Add some picts

  • i upload a vid responds but i don't why is not up. well is on my link

  • Great video! Thanks so much. Now if I could just cornroll my own hair! Thanks again!

  • who do you take care of it to last two months?

  • gonna try this style this weekend. bought the hair and hook thingy. thnx!

  • thank u! i did it and it looks so cute!

  • this was a great video,u brought up some good points

  • you saved the day...I was trying to knot and they were coming down..but i see now how you do it..thanks

  • So you can`t shampoo your your hair for two months. How do you keep the funk away.lol

  • You can buy a dry shampoo or a no wash shampoo or you can wipe your scalp with a cloth and witch hazel. Next time i do them i will show what i do.

  • Fierce. :3 I love youtube for showing how to do certain hair techniques. It keeps me from getting too bored with my coif. Thanks for sharing! Very informative.

  • you did great you are the best girl

  • This is a great video. I never respond to videos but I watched all three and I think you have me ready to do this style next. I am going to be trying tree braids now. the tool is called a latch hook btw. Do you do tree braids too?

  • No i have never done tree braids. They look a lil harder than im ready for..lol

  • did you also purchase the latch at a beauty supply store? Your hairl looks amazing!

  • Yes i purchased it at the beaty supply store too. It was hard to find tho.

  • This video and the others you did on crocheting hair are the best on Youtube. Thank you so much!

My questions are: can I wear a side part or is there simply too much hair and it wouldn't stay in place; and how long is the hair you purchased?.

  • You can do a side part. you are gonna have braids going straight back to all you have to do is when you finish put your fingers through two cornrows where you want your part to show and voila. also make sure... depending on where your part is, to pack in the hair so your braid doesnt show.

  • really nice.. one question.. how do you wash your hair??..

  • u actually just cleanse your scalp. cant wash...lol

  • lmao at "...you did it yourself." You face was priceless.

  • awesome job on explaining the technique!! I'm going to try to do my hair this weekend!!! thank you so much! once I get it done I will post it as a response to this video!! thanks again. you look great!

  • Thanks ....I just did mine and I love it..

  • ok so love it and i think im goin to do n mine this weekend....hope it looks good....tk u later

  • Hi, where do you buy the bulk hair please ?. This is my fav technique

  • I've watched ur crochet braid several times and I'm finally going to do my own today. I hope it comes out well.

  • It will. Please attatch a response to my vid

  • hi there. this is ladyluck75041. thx for the help in crochet braiding. but, i think i brought the wrong kind of hair. i brought millennium wet and wavy yaky pony hair. i put it in this time. but, i didn't understand the type of hair u said. so next time i can get the right kind. and thx again for showing me how to crochet braid. this is very neat.

  • thanks alwayz nice 2 know how someone else does it!! thanks again

  • That's really pretty. Good job girlie ^_^

  • i did this with the presto curl and i love it! i will post pics as a response soon!

  • thanks for this idea. your hair looks good girl

  • What are you doing Girl you got me

    I gotta do this

this is so fast Im speech less

I love it and it looks so nice on you you go girl

  • Love this style! I did mine last week using freetress presto curl. It came out ok for my first try,but im gonna try the water wave one u used. I love the curly afro look ^_^.

  • SHAKE IT GIRL!!! LOL My mom over here loving ya hair~ we gonna copy this fosho , thankx for the video lol

  • LOL. Good please post picts!

  • what i mean about different pattern , like side by side going downwards?

  • Hmm well i guess u could try but u would still have the part down the middle and the parts going down might show. I don't really know. I guess u would have to try and give me a report. From what i know u cannot use straight hair cuz the knots wont hold properly. the only way i heard was with nail/ sum type of glue.

  • can you braid the hair in different patterns to get different results and can it be done with straight hair?
